"50 shades of grey" is the first of a trilogy of books. it's written by a women in london. that's what we can tell you about it. the only thing we can read are the words -- chapter one. a lot of people at work are reading it. >> yes. >> are they talking about it? >> yes. >> reporter: there's a reason you're just hearing this woman's voice. people who read or know about it kind of don't want to admit to

it. in their words, the action is hot. >> burning narrowed eyes. >> reporter: harford county library has plenty of steamy novels, but you won't find this one. the book is not banned from the library. it's available through digital download if you're willing to wait weeks to get it, but mary hassle said they didn't buy paper copies. they have to make decisions on which books to buy in times of tight spending and this isn't a decision they made lightly. because this became so popular so quickly, the reviewers were quick to look at this. she said next we followed our board of selection process and the book did not moat our own standards. not and the board decided that the book would not go on the

shelfs in any of their branches. we don't buy pornography, she said. the library's decision is drawing mixed reviews. she doesn't want you to know she read the book. >> i think people should be able to read what they want and get it out of the library. it's a public service. i think it's important for us to enforce our rights for people to wreath what they want and read what they want. >> reporter: others say the book is way too hot to be on a library shelf where kids can get at it. >> it's porn. i wouldn't want my 15-year-old reading it. >> reporter: once again, we want to emphasize that the bach is available, not being banned but there's a very long waiting list at every branch.

roosevelt leftwich, abc2 news. baltimore county police have issued a warrants for the arrest of a man who murdered a man in essex. police are asking for your help to find this man, len nell ellis. authorities found daryl augustus ii in a pickup truck that was covered in flames. and now they believe he had been murdered before being put in the truck. authorities believe augustus was killed in the apartment of a woman who was previously involved with ellis. burglars have struck about a dozen businesses. people in hoodies and surgical gloves smashed through windows to steal cash from registers. this is the third such robbery in the last year for several businesses on dobbin center way.

warning us about a new scam. it involves the president and your utility bit. the bbb said people have been getting calls and text messages and visits from scammers saying the president has authorized credits that will pay your utility bill. you know it's too good to be true which they ask -- when they ask for your social security number. well, you don't see many made in the usa stickers on electronics these days, but one tech giant is hoping to bring more production back to our shores. >> reporter: apple's ceo tim cook is making buzz worthy comments. cook says he hopes to one day see an apple product manufactured in the u.s. right now many of the devices are made in china. cook pointed out that certain

we may get back to tropical storm strength. we may see the center and sending rain into the ocean city area in the lower eastern shore, some rain falling down here but of course its rain we need and it did come in after, after the holiday weekend but some pretty big weather offshore. you can see the effects of aboutle. this is our abc2 weather bug camera. the winds which were gusting up to 40 at times, rain on and off actually at the beach from the outer rings of tropical depression beryl and clouding up annapolis. now the sun is out in baltimore, looking good here in charm city. wind is calm. temperatures have been more comfortable. part of the reason the circulation over the virginia beach area drawing in cooler

northeasterly breezes. that's dropping humidity, especially from baltimore west. we're down below 50%. low humidity, low to mid-80s. beautiful weather reisterstown to arbutus. we've got big weather just offshore and this is a pattern that we're going to enjoy for about 36 to 48 hours. by friday night a new weather maker on the march. this front pushing in will not only drop our humidity but cope beryl from coming a i shore -- coming ashore and looking at a gorgeous thursday as a result. here comes our next weather maker and sort of a typical late spring, early storm system. this will be a weather maker. it could bring rain as early as friday night into the early part of our saturday.

things will stay unsettled into saturday. maybe not a completely dry weekend, especially not friday night but on the whole this looks like a much cooler, much seasonable weekend. overnight 62 with a few clouds. tomorrow 8 4, mostly sunny and less humid. tomorrow night down to 60. that seven-day forecast shows basically a pretty good look trend. completely dry all weekend, maybe not. chances for showers especially friday night into saturday, but on the whole, again, i think the temperature s trade -- temperature tradeoff is pretty good. >> tomorrow is the last day of may. >> june coming in on a mild note. in baseball there's a term where the pitcher throws it on the hitter's hands. cal ripken is in the kitchen with his brother and super star bill. so this will be like going to the boardwalk mixed in with the food court. wing and burrito bar, conrad's
