>> exactly they have. a pleasant thursday on tap for us. we're dry right now with a few clouds out there and also some patchy fog and mild temperatures out there. maryland's most powerful radar, things are nice and calm and dry. you can see the remnants of beryl just pushing away out to sea and that's what we like to see. not going to be affecting anybody else as we move forward. now speaking of moving forward we looked a the temperatures right now in the mid 60s this morning. 675 degrees in annapolis and sykesville coming at 65. more of the same in norrisville and visibility yes we have patchy fog out there. only about seven miles of reduced visibility. right now a check now of the traffic with lauren. good morning. how are the roads? a serious crash in harford county and previously shut down route 161 at castleton road but it has been reopened. there are some fallen power lines in the road on main street and watch out for that.

dismembers a dismembersing a man in joppa. he was denied bail late last nigh. they believe the victim had been missing since last week week. kinyua will face a judge this afternoon and district court and we'll keep you posted on what happens. now a developing story, police in baltimore county need your help this morning. >> abc2 news linda so is live with all new information this morning. linda, what do you have? >> reporter: we just got off the phone with county dispatch, still looking for the suspect and also learned that friends of the victim plan to hold a candle light vigil tonight for dale augustus. it's who police are looking for. he's 32-year-old lynnell ellis. on saturday he went to the home of a woman he was in a relationship with and found a man there. a fight broke out and ellis stabbed augustus in the leg and he bled to death. he drove the body and set his

pickup truck on fire. >> he was 20 feet away from our apartment and there's blood everywhere. and we -- you know, we never expected that. >> reporter: now here's information on that vigil. friends plan to they would that tonight for darrell augustus at 7:00 in the church apartment behind the im-- parking lot behind the conception in. please call police at 1-866-7- lock up. live, linda so, abc2 news. in howard county police are asking for your help finding a number of suspects who burglarized dozens of businesses in that area. most of the crimes have happened in east columbia. we're told video shows people in hoodies with surgical gloves smashing front door windows and crawling across the floor stealing cash from edge scores. this is the third -- registers. this is the third such robbery in the past year for the business.

>> this is the third time it's happening and we are -- the last time about three, four months ago. well, the drawers were ripped off and thrown in the trash. >> damages are estimate around $14,000 and that's going to be the cost of repair. burglars also struck businesses on to be bin road. oakland mills road and snow den river parkway. we spoke with a father who's grieving the morning the loss of his son a marine killed on memorial day. he's 22 years old. julian chase is his name from edge water. he was killed in afghanistan and he had the whole life planned out. he wanted to be a marine and then go to george washington university. >> this was his second tour of duty in afghanistan. he earned the -- navy marine corps combat medal with combat distinguishing device in his first tour. it's my speculation that he was targeted on memorial day

because he was the guy carrying the big gun that could reach out and hurt people. one of the main reasons i'm doing this interview is i think it's high time that we gracefully and honorably left afghanistan. i think the job has been done. >> when sergeant chase told his dad that he was assigned to the infantry unit his dad told him remember you are my only son. you have to come back. sergeant chase said somebody's son has to do this. matthew he has wick will be remembered today. he was killed during a hit and run on memorial day. he is will be remembered at the stanley funeral home in ellicott city today from 2:00 to 4:00 and then from 6:00 to 8:00 tonight. the family is now asking for all donations in his honor to st. jude's or to mothers against drunk driving. the man suspected of killing him is due to appear in court

wednesday and left behind trees and torn fences and a lot of people without power. more bad weather was expected there overnight. that prompted the governor to declare state of emergency for 35 counties. >> and tomorrow begins the official start of the hurricane season. along the atlantic basin. we've already seen a lot of severe weather and had threats of hurricane-like storms with bud and also with beryl. time now for a check of the forecast. nothing like that in our midst right now. huh lynette? >> no, beryl is actually moving away from the coast and we definitely like to see that. but we still are talking about the severe weather. and that could be plaguing us as we go into tomorrow but for today, we can see some severe weather back into texas, all the way across the tennessee valley up through the ohio valley. this will begin to shift eastward as we head into tomorrow and that's going to be our threat for some severe weather. as we go in through the afternoon and evening time frame. but for today, the satellite and radar not a whole lot. just a few clouds out there but we are mainly clear and we are going to have a nice day on tap. the temperatures are mild this morning. 62 degrees in towson right now.

we're still a little bit above average. we have another cold front in the area and going to be very comfortable today. right noel kin at 64 degrees and 64 in northeast and the humidity it will continue to go down so we will be less humid. it's going to be a stellar day on tap. megan? health news for you this morning. a warning to adderall users, fable and poke dangerous -- fake and possibly dangerous pills have been sent to the people that ordered online. it urges people to use caution before ordering it online. the world health organization is today marking this as tobacco day to draw attention to the risk of tobacco use. tomorrow, the activist group breast-feeding mothers unite will rally against the harassment of breast-feeding moms. the march will be held in washington, d.c.. they're calling tit million moms -- it the million moms march and it comes on the heels of a new study in favor of

breast-feeding. the journal suggests that breast-fed babies are slightly smarter than the formula fed counterparts. they scored higher on tests as well. well if you have a toddler you know what it's like to stick anything around them because those kids will then put it in their mouths. so here's some things you may want to stash away. you may not have thought of previously. make sure to keep your mouthwash, facial cleaner and perfumes in a safe place because of the alcohol content. always lock up the pills even the vitamins. >> lots of pills can look just like candy. the notorious offender is iron pills which literally look like m&ms and kids can swallow a lot to cause vomiting, diarrhea and death. >> also keep an eye on your kids during parties so they don't get in drinks because you know adults have a tendency to leave those behind. the suspect is in custody after allegedly opening fire at a child's birthday party. two people were killed and three others injured including

a 10-year-old. the birthday boy. police say that they're still looking for the accomplices and they believe that two of the men were targeted. also a newlywed couple in florida got quite a scare when a pole sliced through their wind shield. the car in front of them drove over some debris and that then sent a 6'0" metal rod airborne. investigators aren't sure where the pole came from. the couple is okay. this is certainly not something that you see every day. and not something that this police officer in wisconsin had ever seen before. take a look. >> all right, so what you're seeing this morning is a man arrested for driving on a tractor while drunk. the man even motioned for the cruisers to go around him. police say that his blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. and taking a look at tomorrow, a hearing on the

motion for protective order regarding discovery is now scheduled for the george zimmerman case. that hearing is scheduled for 1:30 in the afternoon and we'll let you know how that develops. the penn state scandal a hearing will be held tomorrow in the perjury case against two former officials accused of lying to the grand jury on child abuse allegations against jerry sandusky. now attorneys for former athletic director tim curley and former vice president gary schultz will both be in court. as for sandusky his trial begins june 5th. dating back between 1994 and 2008 with the alleged abuse. here's a story why spell check is so important. if you don't do it you could be the butt of a lot of jokes and that's what's happening this morning. a campaign app for mitt romney spelled america wrong. instead it looked more like ameritha. however plenty of other people did catch it and of course there were t-shirts made and signs posted on the internet as well. time now for a check of the forecast once again.

lynn set standing by and -- lynette is standing by and pleasant out there yesterday. good day to hit a golf ball. >> you hit plenty didn't you charlie? >> one or two. >> a great day to do the same. maybe tennis match going. i like that. this morning though a little bit of reduced visibility. yes along the eastern shore only about seven miles of reduced visibility and taking you to the east further in delaware zero in dover and salisbury around zero and this is the moisture prone areas that got the showers yesterday. just over and over and all that was courtesy of beryl. beryl is pushing out of the area. it is not going to be affecting anybody anymore. 66 degrees right now in baltimore. 72 in d.c. and 63 easton. 61 now in york and 64 in hagerstown. 63 in winchester. now these temperatures are mild. they are above average. but we have a cold front that's going to be working through the area and i'm going to show you that in just a minute. now the satellite and radar not picking up on a whole lot.

we are under mainly clear skies. you can see the remnants of beryl just pushing away. we like to see that. now, here's that cold front. this is the first one that's going to work through the rest of the morning hours and behind that high pressure is going to really build in. we're going to have that northerly flow that's going to reinforce the pleasant weather for today. but then behind that we do have a cold front. another one that's going to work its way in just in time for friday afternoon. friday evening. and that could be bringing us some showers and some thunderstorms and some of those thunderstorms could be on the severe side. the storm prediction center already does have us at a slight risk for that. there's the line of showers and thunderstorms that could rumble through the area friday afternoon and evening and saturday morning i think we could be wet but into the afternoon on saturday, another area of high pressure will build in so saturday afternoon looks like it could be dry. and then more showers possible by sunday. but here's the check of the hour by hour forecast. please get out and enjoy it because this is our day of respite because we are looking at some more thunderstorms possible on friday. and then we cool down as we
