still no verdict on all six counts. the judge declared a mistrial. world news with diane say year will have more after the news at 6:30. we have breaking new details on that horrible story we have been covering. a man charged with killing his roommate and according to detectives he admitted to eating his heart and parts of his brain. we are live in edgewood with more on this major new development. >> reporter: just a week after the 21-year-old assaulted someone in his dorm room at morgan state university, police say he returned home and murdered his live in roommate before consuming part of his body. >> i heard loud music like really loud. that is unusual. >> reporter: music coming from this townhouse on the same day that a rent erin side, a 37- year-old was last seen alive.

the next day kathy a neighbor saw something else unusual involving his roommate. >> he walked down the street right down the middle of the street with like his pot and apparently had it the head in it. >> reporter: while speculation over which body part was in the pot may be off on wednesday police flooded the neighborhood searching for evidence that he had been murdered after alexander's younger brother spotted two tents in the down stairs room with a head and hands in them. he confronted his brother who said they were animal remains but when he brought his father down they were gone. >> search and seizure warrant was obtained remains, a head and hands were recovered on the main floor of the residence. the suspect was interviewed by detectives and he admitted to

killing the missing person and cutting him up with a knife. he further stated that he ate his internal organs, specifically his heart and portions of his brain. >> reporter: he also said where he dumped more of the body and they found it behind a church nearby. tonight he is being held with no bond. reporting live. abc 2news. >> thank you. now to a breaking news update out of baltimore. things are still tense on the un bc campus hours after a report of an armed man on campus. students confused why the classes were left open. >> reporter: we just learned that late this afternoon the gunman has been found and police say they are talking to him. the incident had people on campus on alert but police say they had the area where it was

reported clamped down so they kept the rest of the campus open this morning. police on the campus checking the guns and block off streets, 911 got a call from a student saying a man she knew had a gun on campus. the response is fast. officers and police start searching buildings door to door. >> got back and my roommate came in and was like lock the door. i was like what's happening? she just said there was a lockdown on campus and everything and we kept waiting for alerts and didn't know if we should go to class. they cleared the other apartments but not ours. >> reporter: they didn't find the suspect in the rooms but they did find something else. >> we have locate a hand gun that it activity fits the description of the gun that the

first person who called gave to the 911 center and to our police department and we have that hand gun in our possession. >> reporter: the suspect didn't threaten anyone, just displayed it and the student saw it and called police. he said they are convinced now the man who they identified as the student at another school fled the campus on foot. they texted students to let them know what was going on warning them to stay out of the area. they left the rest of the campus open. students got the messages and had to figure out what to do. they say they were told but a bit confused. >> i was on my way to school about five minutes away and i got the first one and i was a little worried but when i got here i saw some security around and thing its seemed to be going normal. they seemed to have it under control. >> my boyfriend said it happened above his apartment. when i left this morning was like an hour later so it was stairy finding that out but

it's like i wish i knew more information information. >> reporter: police haven't identified the suspect but say he is a student at unbc. he has not been charged. police say they are still talking to him. abc2. >> thank you. right now this man is behind bar as accused of taking pictures of boys using bathrooms at two major rest stops. police say brian williams of pennsylvania took video and pictures of 11 children using the rest room at the maryland house and the chesapeake house. a witness called police after seeing him take a picture of a boy using a urinal. investigators are looking for other possible victims and witnesses. in hartford tonight deputies are keeping a sharp eye out for an ice cream truck. a girl said the truck with two men inside approached her and her friends at the park. the father said that something

seemed off about the truck. it only had a few ice cream stickers, no music and it may not have had a cut out for buying ice cream. the girls said a man in the passenger side tried to lure her closer by saying that he had free ice cream. now to the city a sigh of relief from people visiting, police arrested this man. 26-year-old daniel knight and charged him with one count of being a peeping tom. last friday we told you about a man using a cell phone to take pictures of a 15-year-old girl hughes the bathroom. the detectives used surveillance pictures to identity him and arrest him. >> what a beautiful day out there. low humidity. temperature around 80 plus degrees and we got a good- looking shot on harbor camera. 82 outside. that northerly wind at suspicious that's keeping the dry air in place but that will change as we head in to the

it's jaw dropping video. it shows the 18-year-old being hit by a bus during a university of texas end of semester tradition called foam sword fight . this video went wild online. its been viewed 3.5 million times and amazingly the kid jumps up almost immediately and then walks away and then drops onto the grass. the driver was ticketed for running a red light. recently, released video from inside the bus seems to show that it is driver in fact didn't run the red light. luckyly the man only had minor injuries. abc 2news. >> one lucky kid. thank you. new we have the update of breaking news from last night. we are learning new details about the gunman who went on a shooting rampage in that seattle cafe. the shooter a 40-year-old ian

rookie was caught on camera with what looked like a gun near the waist. it started when he walked in that and opened fire killing four people and wounding a chef. he then ran out on foot and straight into a mother of two. police say he killed her just so he could take her car as a get away car. the suspect later shot himself. he had a rap sheet that included several minor assault charges. coming up the mayor hoping new yorkers will drink less this summer, less soda. why it could soon be against the law to drink soda's bigger than 16 ounces. and the young spellers bringing their braining to the semi-finals of the scrips national. we are live with the latest. and over weight women may never escape the stigma of

wilmington at 82, easton at 82. that's uniform across the area. we will take you through the planner, 77 around 8:00, 67 around is 11 and we will start out with sun tomorrow morning. could be a scattered story and more storms in the mix as we head into tomorrow afternoon with a temperature around 80. you can see the satellite and radar. not much happening but as we expand the view you find some rough weather from the ohio valley back down toward the midwest. severe thunderstorm watches and warning, couple of tornado warnings and this is all long the cold front where it gets the mild air out of the gulf of mexico and a clash of cooler air out of the northern plains, that's not a good recipe for the as superior and that's the recipe for the storms around here by tomorrow. 85 in roanoke. chicago at 49 degrees, that's the cool air that will come in as we go in to the weekend. this clash of air masses will create storms tomorrow.

that 1:00 -- we could be expecting hail and then even a threat of a isolated tornado. we will be watching it, going into friday afternoon into friday night. future trend keeps the skies clear for tonight in to the overnight. tomorrow morning there could be a spot but the best shot of this storm coming in is a round two, three in the afternoon and by 11 very heavy rains and gusty winds and thunderstorms rolling through. a nicer looking day into saturday as we will clear out the skies, the forecast for the evening hours, 70 degrees, mostly clear, it's comfortable but here comes the humidity for the overnight, around 63, humidity will be in here by tomorrow at 82, thunderstorms after the lunchtime hour and that will take new -- you into friday night. the seven day forecast shows again just a nasty day tomorrow at 81, clear, cooler, calmer for saturday at 75.

now a study says it's okay to go for the big juicy steak. they studied 300 over weight people without kidney disease over a two year period and compared the effects of a low carb high protein effects the low carb diet didn't put the patients kidney function at risk. if your bathing suit feels snug it may be time to get the skinny on a new way to eat. you should eat foods that will help you feel full but on fewer calories. pick item that are high in water, fiber or protein. >> berries and melons are great because they are so high in water. >> fruits and reggies are full of water and fiber so either them for snacks or a lot during meal will help. another fiber filled snack that is low in calorie california

calories is popcorn. if you are looking for suggestions for a healthy dinner that will leave you feeling full and satisfied start by filling your plate with vegetables, also salmon and brown rice or pasta. once fat, always fat. a new study sheds light on the social stigma of being over weight. formerly over weight women may still be considered up unattractive even after losing weight. people were asked to read short descriptions of women who had lost 70 pounds or had stayed the same weight. those who were heavier in the past were seen as less attractive than those who had always been thin. of course this is a cording to the study. next time you see your grandparents you may want to take a big sniff.
