to know why your parents are crying graduation other night? it's because they just found out how much more college will cost. first the disturbing details about that breaking news we first brought you last night. it started as trying to find a missing person and it developed in to a turn your stomach murder case. the latest on what is now a national story. >> reporter: you know tonight everybody is asking one question for sure and that's why but police say the student has offered no explanation for why he killed his roommate, cut him up and then ate part of him. neighbors say when police went to the townhouse wednesday night it didn't take long for them to find what they were looking for. >> i was sitting at my window and i saw them bring out like a joint -- of a leg or something out, put it in a bag. >> reporter: a border at the

house had disappeared five-days earlier it was one of the owner's sons who found evidence he had been murdered. >> one of his sons by the name of jarrod, reported seeing human remains in the basement in a laundry room , specifically a head and hands. he confronted his brother, who is 21 who denied that the remains were human but said they were animal. >> reporter: by the time he went upstairs and told his father the body parts were gone from the tins. police got a warrant and found them on the main floor. they then focused on jarrod's older brother who had shared a room with the man. >> he admitted to killing him mr. cody and cutting him up with a knife. he further stated that he consumed mr. cody's organs,

specifically his heart and brain. >> reporter: he said that where they would find the rest of the body and in a dumpster behind a church a short distance away. >> we sat here and watched it happen. it was creepy. beyond that -- morbid and sad. things you never dream that will happen. >> reporter: just a week before the murder the same suspect was at morgan state university when he assaulted someone in his dorm room. it was called a violent attack. he was arrested and his family post aid 220,000-dollar bond to get him out of jail. >> state police are ria trying to find witnesses or possible victims taped using the bathroom at two rest stops. they have arrested brian williams and charged him with unlawful photography of children after finding the videos on his cell phone.

police say they got a call from someone at the chesapeake house in cecil on may the 6th who said they saw a man take a picture of a boy using the bathroom. they took his cell phone and found video, taken at the chesapeake house and the the maryland house may the 6th between noon and four. williams was held on $35,000 bond and then released. state police investigators are looking for the children shown in the videos and are asking anyone with information about possible victims to call this number tonight. all right you get a text that says there is a guy with a gun at your school and that's what students and staff at unbc got after a man showed a gun to a student, tense times,. >> reporter: police say they are interviewing the man they say displayed a gun while on campus early this morning.

the incident this morning forced a partial lockdown of the campus, it happened early it this morn near walker avenue. campus police say a female student called the police when she said a male friend showed her a hand gun. police blocked off the road and searched every building door to door. they found a gun but didn't say where. the university said it texted students. the police chief said they didn't see a need to close the campus because they felt they had the incident contained. classes went on as normal and he said the alert system worked. >> we started doing stuff as soon as we -- to make people aware. we activated our text alert system to let people know we had an incident going on on campus, asked people to stay out of the area where we are

were focusing the search. we had confidence people were still in, told the others on campus to stay inside and stuff. >> reporter: he said they are interviewing the man but won't say -- they said he is in custody. it's illegal to have a gun on school property but police haven't said if he will be charged. abc 2news. >> john edwards was found not guilty on one of six charges today but the jury couldn't reach a verdict on the other five sot judge declared a mistrial. he was accused of taking money from two donors to hide his pregnant mistress while campaigning in 2008. prosecutors haven't said if they will retry the other five counts. baltimore county police say a 32-yeahad a warrant for his arrest turned himself in this afternoon. last week police say firefighters found the body of a manipulator identified as darryl augustus in a pickup truck on fire. now they believe he was murdered before being put into

the truck. detectives believe augustus was killed in the apartment of a woman was previously involved with el ellis. sheriff got a report from a man and his daughter who said she and friends were approached by a truck with two men inside. the men said he and his family were at record road park for a baseball game. he said his daughter and others were at the playground when a white box truck pulled up. the girl described it as having a few ice cream stickers but no speaker or playing music and may not have been a cut out for buying ice cream. they said the man in the passenger seat called and said come here i have free ice cream . none of the children went to the truck so they left. the sheriff department is investigating. police arrested a man they say believed to be using a cell phone to take a picture of a 15- year-old girl using the bathroom in april. david knight is charged with one count of being a peeping tom. police worked the harbor and used video to help identity

. surviving cancer is a big deal and this sunday is national cancer survivor's day and there are many days to help survivors through the healing process. linda has more. >> reporter: from the moment someone is found to have cancer life changes, there are treatments action surgery, visits to the doctor and can all take a toll. >> many survivors come out of this saying i wouldn't have chosen to want to do this but having been through it i'm a different and i'm a bigger person. >> helps patients through the healing process. he said cancer can be used as a positive experience. >> it's a time to regroup and say what's important to me, you know i have reached this certain age. it could be 50, 60, 30 i have had this experience with cancer and we -- what do i want today in terms of my priorities and how i spend my days.

>> reporter: on sunday the hospital will hold an event to honor survivors and celebrate national cancer's survive after's day. >> celebrating once a year that -- it's fun. it's really enjoyable and there is a sense of friendship and being in this together. community. really nice. >> reporter: for those going through the process, the doctor said talking to family members is key. >> both on the part of a survivor saying, you know -- i'm ready. i'm feeling better or saying, i -- my hair is growing back and i'm -- i can't quite do as much as you think i can right now. >> reporter: and the doctor said it's important to stay on top of your health even after getting the all clear. >> one cancer doesn't mean you can't have another. we want to screen, careful screening as good or better than anybody else. >> and if you want to honor cancer survivors and celebrate the day the event will be sunday from two to five and

tennessee valley into the ohio valley. these -- that's a severe storm watches, even tornadoes earlier this afternoon being issued. we are watching this storm system because as this pushes toward the east we have a lot of -- out of the gulf of mexico and that will combine forces to create storms and they could be big storms, going into tomorrow afternoon. lot of humidity. that will kind of act as a gasoline to this in a cold front. that it its the match and we will talk act the potential from big storms, hail, gusty winds, could be a lot of lightning and maybe isolated tornadoes, it'll be tracking -- timing out on future trend. get a clear sky, low humidity, comfortable temperatures, here comes showers around the lunchtime hour and fair game -- showers and storms and then again a gusty storm threat into 11:00 into the midnight hour. we will track that after the afternoon drive and going in to the evening and overnight on

friday. here is the forecast. 70 degrees, mostly clear, just a comfortable evening with that low humidity. we will keep it down in to the offer night with increasing clouds, lue wake up tomorrow with the clouds, few spot showers and then -- around 82. that's the two degree guarantee. after lunchtime pretty much guaranteeing the chance of a few scattered showers and then could be severe. 63 overnight tomorrow. showers and gusty tomorrow storms, just a mess tomorrow but the good news is right in time for the weekend. saturday looks good. i think clearing, really across the entire, maybe the eastern shore, there is a threat of a shower or storm for sunday at 79, and all in all next week not a much in the way of 80s but i think unsettled periods, monday and tuesday but overall not a big deal. the big deal is tomorrow, all right and we will have to talk about the potentially severe storm, a computer model run around eight or nine. >> thank you. >> sure.
