but we are starting to see showers trying to move into the picture especially in virginia. so if your travels take you along this way, be be prepared for that. not seeing-- be prepared for that. not seeing thunderstorms or lightning but going into the afternoon, we could get severe thunderstorms popping up. for right now this morning, temperatures at 62. 64 in chestertown. we look at visibility this morning and we have a little bit of patchy fog in easton once again also salisbury. take it easy as you head out and about. let's check of the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren. >> reporter: we are off to a great start on the jfx. from the beltway to downtown baltimore, the stretch altogether will take you 11 minutes. everything up to speed through the fort mchenry and harbor tunnel. white marsh north of route 43 it's a 4 minute ride from this

vicinity to the beltway and a look at the beltway in parkville harford road. everything up to speed. an 11-minute ride from 95 up towards 83. that's a look at your abc timesaver traffic now over to you. >> thanks in we want to warn you the tough story is hard to hear. sheriff deputies say it's the most bizarre and disgusting things they have seen. >> a man confessed to police he ate his victims. brain and part of his heart. sherrie johnson is live outside police headquarters with the details. this is bizarre. >> reporter: this is a disgusting and disturbing story of cannibalism here in harford county. we are here in front of the sheriff's department's office and we will check in with them throughout the morning trying to bring you updated information. but 21-year-old alexander kinyua is behind bars charged with first-degree murder in the death of 37-year-old kujoe.

agyei-kogie. he was renting a room there. the killing was among the most brutal they have seen. authorities say the suspect told detectives that he killed agyei-kodie and ate his heart and portions of his brain. body parts were found in the home and a dumpster. family members called police when they noticed body parts in the home. >> we sat here and watch the whole thing unfold and it was kind of creepy. >> i was in my window looking out, and i saw him bring out like a joint of a leg or something. >> reporter: now the victim we are told was a graduate of morgan state university and the suspect was also a former student there. reporting live in bel air, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. the new york man who pled guilty to stealing historical documents from several museums including from ones here in maryland is set to be sentenced

today. barry landau will receive the sentence for conspiracy and theft charges. he admitted to stealing items that belonged to several past presidents including abraham lincoln and george washington and face as maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. also happening today, both sides of the george zimmerman case are expected to meet for another hearing. today, they are going to be discussing the motion brought by both the defense and the prosecution to keep certain pieces of evidence under wraps until the trial starts. they want to seal the information like text messages and the names of witnesses and zimmerman's statements to police. several media outlets are trying to block the protective order. police are trying to identify young boys videotaped inside a rest room at the maryland house and chesapeake house and rest stops along i-95 many they found 13 videos of boys using the rest room on a cell phone and have arrested 28- year-old brian williams of pennsylvania in connection with the crimes. the most recent incident took place on may 6th.

thunderstorms. the biggest threat. >> the caskate -- caveat where you say we need it. >> we never need it storms but we need rain. we will keep an eye on things and see how things pan out. let's show you what's going on because we have some wet weather that is back off across the ohio valley in west virginia and tennessee. we will be seeing this line of showers and thunderstorms and again push across the area. what's happening is we have a warm front that's going to move through and that will be the focus point of some showers this morning. we have cold front back off to the west and that's going to move in here and you get theclashing of the air masses and you will see thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. more details on that to come but right now let's check the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren. >> reporter: if you are headed out to 95 in the white marsh area, you will be in luck.

around manassas and warrington and dumfries. i-95 could get wet in the next few minutes or so. we will stay dry until about daybreak and then some of that could be moving into our area. just a few scattered showers. the storms will come later this afternoon and temperatures this morning. 64 in aberdeen annapolis at 70 and 65 in columbia. megan. today is the first official day of hurricane season. lynette said it in the atlantic. >> we have seen a lot of activity with tropical storm alberto but beryl but now is a good time to make sure you are prepared should a hurricane make its way towards maryland. fema suggest making a kit for emergency items like a flashlight blankets blankets and water. last sum are we were without power for a number of days. we have a link at abc2news.com and coming up at 6, the rep from a the red cross will breakdown what you have to have in the emergency kit. >> it's 4:46.

john edwards is a free man and mistrial was declared on all but one of the counts against him. after nine days of deliberations, the jury could only agree on one of the 6 counts and they found him not guilty of accepting illegal came and contributions. he spoke outside the courtroom after the decision was handed down. >> while i do not believe i did anything illegal, or ever thought i was doing anything illegal, i did a awful, awful lot that was wrong. >> it is now up to prosecutors to decide whether or not they are going to refile the charges. news time 4:47. friends and family are remembering a man killed over the weekend in what appears to be a domestic dispute. they came together for a vigil in towson to remember darryl augustus ii. police say it was a cover up for a murder. coming up at 5, new reaction to people who knew augustus. the reisterstown man is

sharing his story about the death of his uncle 68 years ago in world war ii. the man tending to his uncle grave in trance has been doing it for years. -- france has been doing it for years. we have the story of how they plan to meet each other for the very first time. >> reporter: them. l goodrich 19-year-old. >> never out of my mind. >> reporter: mel good rich. 19 years old. >> never out of my mind. >> reporter: when he got his order he became his friend. >> i remember his uniform and taking a collection up from adults and giving it to him. >> reporter: when he walked out the door no one thought they hewould never see him again e died on june 6th, 1944 during d- day. this man bruno spent 7 years taking care of mel's grave in normandie. one year ago, with the help of mayor stephanie rawlings- blake's office he got in touch with david. >> i just had an impact on --

it had such a impact on me and and impact on him. >> reporter: three times a year bruno would drive 150 miles down the french countryside to take care of mel's grave. with his children laying flowers. >> we had become very, very good friends. >> reporter: david knows the time has come for him to walk out his door and to cross that very sea. >> one day soon i hope to meet him in person and thank him.i probably would just hug him and say thank you. probably very wet eyes and i don't know if i will be able to talk. so, it's something very important to me. >> and that was jammy costello report -- jamie costello. bruno is going to normandie to see mel to take pictures and send another e-mail that his uncle will never be forgotten.

the weather seems like it's one those days you have to be prepared to -- prepared to have an umbrella. >> leave with the umbrella but you want to make sure to keep an eye to the sky as you head out. i will start out on a positive note where the temperatures are 62 in baltimore but they are a little cooler but humidity will start to move back into the picture for today. 72 right now in dc. 64 in easton. 60 in york and 66 in winchester. 62 is what we look like in winchester and 62 in hagerstown rather. looking at the satellite and radar, this is the big story of the day. we have the clouds streaming in across the area and showers now back into virginia. and then we have a line of showers and storms back into west virginia and this will begin to move in as we go later into the afternoon time frame. this batch of rain could start -- could start to slide in around daybreak and the stormy conditions work their way in going into the afternoon. we have a severe weather setup

for today. again, we have the warm front that's going to move through and we had the warm humid air coming in from the gulf of mexico. we have an upper-level low and then we have the cold front that's going to be the trigger to trigger the severe weather we will be seeing as we go into the afternoon. here we go with the severe thunderstorm set up. we have the chance for someisolated tornadoes and hail and gusty winds and lightning with the thunderstorms and that threat comes in this afternoon and into the evening. again, we will keep you update on the information and keep it tuned to abc2 news. as we look at the weather pattern, this is the warm front happening for today. we have that warm air. there's the cold front. and we can see showers and thunderstorms firing up along that. future trend doing a good job what have's going ongoing through remainder of the morning. and also this afternoon. so i am thinking maybe around 2:00 we can see a few showers trying to move in from the west. from that line of showers and thunderstorms and then as we go

into four, that's the heavier rain thunderstorm activity happening and look at the heavy rain that's pushing in here as we go into the evening. so the evening plans may be going to the movies, heading out on the date. that's when it is going to be wet out there. you might want to stay indoors until the pass -- this passes and by the afternoon saturday things look good. a slight chance for a shower on sunday. the hour by hour forecast, the temperature coming in right around 82 degrees for today. and again it's going to be a stormy afternoon. and this is what it looks like on the seven-day forecast. saturday nice and dry and cooler around 75 and we have a slight chance for showers as we work into the latter part of the weekend. let's get a check of the traffic now with lauren. so, my forecast a little bumpy but yours is smooth sailing so far. >> reporter: so far so good. on the beltway traffic the west side 11 minutes on the outer loop from 795 down towards 95. and that will continue on route 40. no delays to talk about. only a 10 minute ride along the
