solution. let's show you what's going on. as you head out, you will be traveling southward, that's where the showers are on maryland's most powerful radar. but they are starting to die down a little bit. that's some good news because in calvert county, they have been having ongoing showers all morning long around prince frederick and golden beach. that's what's going to start to die down. that's what we like to see. and we will start to dry out and then we will have a chance for more showers to pop up in the picture going into the afternoon. or it could be an afternoon like yesterday for the most part. we stayed mainly sunny and a few clouds coming in here and most of the showers got in here overnight. so we look at temperatures this morning. this is what charley has been complaining about. 55 degrees in edgemere and bowie at 55. we will stay below average throughout the day. let's check of the traffic with lauren. good morning lauren and you better stop complaining about my temperatures. >> reporter: oh, sorry. hopefully they will go back up in time for the weekend. if you are using the jfx into the city, no delays from the beltway downtown to east

fayette street. and everything will remain nice and clear traveling through the fort mchenry tunnel. heading out to 895, here's what it look like north of child street. not too many cars out there yet. it will be a nice easy ride through the harbor tunnel. that will remain the case on the northeast corridor of 95 through the white marsh area. no delays to talk about. just a 14-minute ride from the beltway downtown into the site. and here's the beltway at harford road. everything up to speed it will be an easy ride up towards towson. as far as the southwest corner is concerned here's what it looks like. 295 will be a nice easy ride traveling towards interstate 70 or towards the key bridge. that's your abc2 timesaver traffic charley over to you. we are learning more about a possible meth lab bust that had police and fire crews working well into the night. it happened at the holiday inn express in howard county. sherrie johnson is live in elk ridge with more on the details. things have died down as the

night has worn on sherrie. >> reporter: that's right. we still have a few that are on the scene here investigating. now about 3:30 this morning we were told by sources that dea agents actually went inside the building. now dea actually has meth lab specialist and we have been told they take sam peelings every ten minutes -- sampleings every ten minutes trying to find out if this was a meth lab. howard county police arrested four men believed to be manufacturing methamphetamine in a hotel room here at the holiday inn express in elk ridge. police got a tip around 10:40 last night about a meth lab. when officers arrived they smelled a strong unusual odor in a room on the 4th floor. once officers went inside the room, they saw chemicals and arrested the four men. they are adults and authorities believe they checked into the hotel on saturday. authorities evacuated rooms on the 4th floor and we caught up with one hotel guest who was evacuated and didn't know what

to think about the commotion. >> i was actually going out to get something to eat and i seen some cop cars drive by around 4 or 5 and then i seen the fire truck go by. >> reporter: we have been told by authorities that those evacuated hotel guests were allowed back in the room about 4:00 this morning. they had been told to go to the lobby and sit there during the investigation. but we are told they are allowed to go back into the rooms and they have returned to the rooms. rotting live, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. 5:34. wisconsin voters are going to the polls with something that could potentially have national significance. they are deciding whether to recall the current republican governor scott walker replacing him with democrat tom barrett. the movement to remove governor walker began after he outraged union members and supporters in early 2011. he says legislation to reducecollective bargaining rights for state employees was needed to balance a budget.

the democrats called the sneak attack on working families and gathered thousands of signatures across the state. >> whatever it takes to get scott walker out of here i am happy. >> it will be the third u.s. governor in history to face a recall vote. make headlines around the nation police in oregon says say a man used a young boy to help him rob the business. they robbed a food cart within a specialty store e acted like he was going to shake his hand and put a bear hand on him and told him not to move. ed child suspected to be around -- the child suspected to be around 10 walked in and grabbed the cash and they ran off. they struck again the next day. >> almost the same identical method threatened the clerk and the kid grabbed the money and they ran off. >> it's horrible when they involve a childlike that. >> police say they are trying to identify the man and child. they have warned businesses to be on the lookout for an

unusual pair of possible robbery suspects. things got exciting for the cast and crew shooting commercial in pittsburgh. a film crew was about to prepare to shoot scenes from a snyder's eyed -- did iced tea ad when a suspect smashed into a wood n barricade. an intern on the set caught it on film and police say the suspect who was wond on domestic violence charges crashed the car and tried running away. no one was injured. powerful wind in colorado knocked seven kite surfers off their boards in a reservoir monday night. the fire department's dive team pulled them to safety. witnesses say some of the surfers had cut the kites in order to survive. the surfers say the wind kicked up to around 30 miles an hour and sometimes gust up to 60 making things too hard to handle. all seven are safe this morning. in michigan a suspect broke into a store but this one was not there to rob the place. surveillance video caught the deer crashing through the window of a consignment

now "good morning maryland." the trial against jerry sandusky accused of sexually abusing boys is set to begin with jury selection today. sandusky is expected to be be in court according to-- >> reporter: injury sandusky charged with sexually abusing 10 boys over 14 years has been under house arrest and pleaded not guilty. prosecutors allege he mit met someth -- he met soft of the

alleged victims through second mile. in november he spoke out saying he is innocent. >> i have horsed around with kids. i have showered after workouts. i have hugged them and i've touched their leg without intent of sexual contact. >> reporter: the allegation against sandusky led to the firing of joe paterno. he was fired in november for not doing enough after learning sandusky allegedly abused a boy in a locker room shower years earlier. students rye outed in the streets. you will want to watch out for that traveling in the area. as far as main lines are concerned, 95 is in great shape checking in and look live at the south side just north of 695. no delays to talk about whatsoever. it will be an easy ride southbound towards 495 or north up towards the tunnels. that's the case on the west side as we check in and look live at liberty road. you are looking at an 11-minute ride from 795 down towards 95. and if you are traveling the east side of the beltway, no concerns in the parkville area. it will be clear as you travel from 95 all the way up toward 83. that stretch altogether going to take you 10 minutes. that's a look at your abc2 time savor traffic now over to you. voters will decide how much they will pay on tobacco products. how much extra a pack of cigarettes will cost if a new resolution gets voter approval. and a beg announcement from the first lady and the walt disney company. how the two are teaming up to fight childhood obesity. good morning maryland continues in a moment.
