traffic pattern the ram from northbound charles street has been opened all the way to the beltway. so some good news all the traffic has returned to normal. looking at the southwest corner of the beltway traffic is picking up at 259 but no significant delays traveling up to 70. now over to you. a manhunt for a 22-year-old gunman who police say shot and killed three people while wounding three others near auburn university in alabama. >> sherrie johnson joins us with the latest on this story. what can you tell us? >> reporter: right now the community is coming together to mourn three people lost and at this hour the fbi and police are searching for 22-year- olddesmonte leonard. three people were dead including two former auburn football players 20-year-old edward christian and 20-year- old ladarius phillips. current player eric mack was shot and recovering at a local

hospital. authorities say an argument at university heights apartment escalated into a shooting. police say leonard is from the area but is not a student. news of the murder spread quickly throughout the community immediately auburn came together to mourn the loss. >> i want the family members to know this community reaches out to them and they are in our prayers and thoughts and we will do everything possible to bring this individual to justice as quickly as possible. >> reporter: the suspect is charged with multiple counts ofcapital murder and considered armed and dangerous. police are looking for two other persons of interest. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. and new this morning arrest has been ahead in connection with the body found earlier in may behind the windsor mills elementary school. police say kyle williams this man has been taken into custody.

the victim 18-year-old quintin poindexter was found shot to death behind a school by a woman who had been walk her dog. >> they are searching for two masked men accused of robbing a 7-eleven. last time this store was targeted cameras helped capture the robbers. so police are now looking over the video. two store employees were inside at the time. suspects came nan opened the recommendation -- came in and opened the registers and took a unknown amount of money. crews in colorado are having a difficult time fighting a wild fire which destroyed 20,000 acres near fort collins. thousands were asked to leave their homes. 18 buildings have been destroyed or sustained damage. one person has been confirmed stroyed by the flame. a teenage is making the trek from texas to the nation's capital and is hoping to inspire others by his journey. junior garcia is careying a 12 foot cross from saginaw texas to washington, d.c. more than

of a judge. >> jerry sandusky will appear for a -- before a judge for opening statements and sherrie johnson is with us live this morning with what we can expectand all eyes will be on pennsylvania. >> reporter: a lot of people have been paying close attention. in a few hours the trial of injury sandusky is set to begin. today the former -- jerry sandusky is set to begin. he will face 52 charges. s accused of abusing 10 boys over a 15-year period. one of the alleged victims will be one of the first to take the stand. prosecutors will present evidence including expensivegift given to the alleged victim and what's described as a creepy love letter. the former assistant coach is expected to testify. he reported -- expected to testify. he reported seeing sandusky in the showers molesting a boy. >> there's other evidence that's not been released to the public yet which i believe you know, will really resonate with the jury.

>> the algages are false. i didn't do those things. >> reporter: jerry sandusky will be tried by a gym of -- jury of hi peers facing a possible sentence of life in prison if convicted. new information from overnight about two car accidents allegedly caused by u.s. commerce secretary john bryson. los angeles police say one of the crashes is now being investigated as a felony hit- and-run. they say bryson hit one car saturday night and hit it again as he left the scene. minutes later he crashed into another car. he was found unconscious and injured in his vehicle. he is recovering right now at a hospital and so far police have not said whether or not alcohol or drugs were a factor. baltimore county police and animal control officers are trying to figure out how a python got loose in towson this happened around 9:30 last night on taylor avenue. abc 2 spoke with dispatchers early this morning who say officers found the reptile underkneeing the car.

animal control came in and removed it. officers believe it may have been a pet that escaped. some of you have been talking about this on facebook and they say simply this. kerry says i am glad they caught it. keep the comments coming in this morning. abc2news.com/facebook. 6:49. and tonight city council is expect to move forward with that bottle tax. linda so joins us right now to explain what this means for you. linda. >> reporter: if the tax passes, it means you will pay 3 cents more for your bottled beverages. city council is expected to move the measure forward for a vote tonight. this comes less than 2 years after the city approved a 2 cent bottle tax. the mayor says the extra money generated from the tax will pump 10 million dollars into school repairs. city retailers say it will hurt the business. the bill has been held up in a council committee but tonight council members who support the tax plan to vote to bring it out. council president jack young is switching the vote because the marrow poses his own budget

august 1st officially and so far day to day operations have been turned over to the deputy commissioner. the mayor released her panel to pick the next chief on it you will fine the president of johns hopkins and university of maryland law school of dean. the chairman is attorney ken thompson. members of the penn north community are holding a rally to save a recreation center scheduled to close on wednesday. they are closing it to make room for more state of the art centers throughout the city. today's rally is at 3 at the center on francis street. and even though some r-ec senters are in jeopardy of closing someplaces are saved. the basketball court dubbed the dome in east baltimore will receive improvements and today there will be a ceremony celebrating the improvements. it will be part of the new paint for the court and hoops and back boards and foam poll pads -- pole pads and new bleachers. muggies bogues will be there to lead the ceremonies as part of a partnership deal between the

all right. let's talk about what's going on now because the satellite and radar picking up on cloud cover. but mainly high clouds as of now. we see most of those lower clouds back off toward the west and some rain coming from those. and that will push in heading into the afternoon. and more likely rain showers as we go into the evening time into the overnight and into tomorrow. but for right now shall let's go out in towson and look at weather bug site where we see plenty of blue skies as high levels clouds and you are seeing more of the cirrus level clouds out there. more of the same in rockville a beautiful sunrise this morning. hopefully you got to enjoy that. but look at the warm temperatures. 73 degrees in eldersburg and 65 in ellicott city. 70 in chestertown and centerville good morning edgemere. more of the same in armed and columbia coming in at 70 degrees this morning. so we are quite warm out will but we are quite humid. you can see the dew points are in the 60s and once you start to get into the 60s you can feel it. dew points and measure of the
