this rescue footage is on a rescue board. it gives us a completely different perspective. the guy you see in the middle of your screen is a lifeguard. the crazy thing about this footage is the lack of sound, although there is sound in this video. you can slightly hear the water crashing. then you see a small hand grab the board. you realize this rescue is of a young boy. >> he wastes no time jumping on. >> this young boy had been out learning to surf. he got caught in a rip current. he just couldn't swim against the current to get back to shore. so the lifeguard ended up out in the ocean grabbing this little boy. as you can see on his face, he's absolutely exhausted. >> he can barely hold on. >> that goes to show how powerful a swimmer a life guard has to be to go against a rip current. >> do you know if the lifeguard

one has a gun. so james goes behind the counter. one of the bad guys stands behind the counter with him. he appears to hand them the money. this all takes place over less than a minute and a half. now, watch what happens. he fires three times, and james died on the scene. this happened in april of 2011, but they still haven't tracked these guys down. now they're looking for the public's help in finding out what happened to him on that day. >> disregard for human life in some of these videos. it's incredibly disturbing. over maybe a few hundred dollars at the most. the fact they have no consideration for this person's life, for this person's family, for this person's friend. they're only concerned about making a quick buck. it's one of the most difficult parts of our job. >> as many times as we go into a store maybe to get gas or whatever, it's not in the forefront of your mind that this person works a dangerous job.
