martin o'malley, senator cardin and barbara mikulski. roosevelt leftwich is live at the corner of charles and pratt. have thing's eased up. >> reporter: the streets that were closed are back open. as you can see, this is pratt street right at charles. it's very, very heavy traffic. most of it is rush hour. there were so many ways people had to get around that it cause lad lot of slow and heavy traffic. take a look at some of the pictures we shot earlier. these is lombard street. what happened was all the trucks had to go around. the cars were backed up. it was difficult for people to get around the closures involved

south charles street and light street. light street was kept open until just before the president's arrival and they closed it off and closed a lot of the traffic until about a quarter to 3:00. the president was inside the hotel for about an hour and a half. the motorcade left about 4:30. what you're seeing are the leftovers. if you're waiting for someone to come home and they're coming from downtown baltimore, it's going to be a slow slug as they try to get out of town. now that the streets are back open, traffic is starting to flow but it's heavy with the rush hour traffic and people coming downtown to go to the orioles game. wyatt will have that later. roosevelt leftwich, abc2 news. >> to help you get where you need to go, get the abc2 news

>> while the equipment goes away, the people who ride on them will not. they will move to other stations. you know, t alarm fire knocked down power, shut down streets and left a lot of debris. in other news tonight two young teens are charged after trying to detonate a bomb in an elementary school. it happened last night at a play ground in pasadena. abc2's brian kuebler joins us with more. >> reporter: the fire department said the intended victim of this bomb was a 6-year-old little girl. she was not injured but this raises concerns about these so-called bottle bombs. a simple google search will show you how they're made. it's a combination of certain

chemicals poured in a bottle. the bottle expands and the contents could cause serious injury. a 13 and 15-year-old detonated this most recent bomb and are charged with the manufacturing and using of a destructive and explosive device. thankful, the 6-year-old was not injured but these bottle bombs can be very dangerous. >> depending on the chemicals that they mix it can cause traumatic injury and burns that could lead to a life-threatening event. >> now the anne arundel county fire department says this is already the sixth bottle bomb they've seen this year. brian kuebler, abc2 news. >> also new at 5:00 tonight, the coast guard is investigating two hoax calls reporting an explosion on a luxury yacht off a new jersey coast.

it started after the coast guard receive add distress call. reports of a yacht called the blind date carrying 21 people had exploded and was sinking. at least nine were hurt and serious burns. seven helicopters were dispatched to find the victims. emt set up a staging area. authorities had yet to turn up any sign of an explosion or survivors. the owner of the blind date said his boat was not in new jersey and this had not exploded. >> if you have a report like that and you believe it's credible, the coast guard will scramble to look. >> last year the coast guard spent 10 hours and $88,000 on a distressed search that turned out to be fake. coming up a graphic day of

for the western shore, including ear harford county, the chesapeake waters edge of baltimore county, anne arundel and calvert county. anne arundel county expecting a two foot high tide anomaly, but a coastal flood warning for anne arundel county. if you're a coastal property person, keep an eye out. humidity 100%. visibility is down to four miles. it was rain on and off, heavy and steady much of the time. it cuts the visibility. you can see pretty significant rain. take a look at our dundalk camera. tough to see the key bridge from high atop ccbc. how about annapolis today where the rain was just unbelievable up and down the seven river.

humidity around 100%, close to it. much of the state, thanks to the rain. that's why temperatures were held back today. the rain, the thick cloud cover. nowhere near the heat of yesterday. that, along with rain is cutting visibility. so a tough commute when you come wine the -- combine the amount of rain and reduced visibility. temperature wise, mid-70s to low 70s. tomorrow we're back in the low 80s, some sunshine on tap to locust point. low to mid-eat -- mid-80s downtown. as we look at the overall pattern, significant rain all the way through the carolinas. there are scattered showers over ohio and much of the midwest. a few showers could linger in the morning. humid conditions. dry air will get in through the day tomorrow. tonight more rain on tap.

guilty of murder. she spent four years in jail. the baby was never found but the bloodstained clothes were found a week after she disappeared. tonight more disturbing testimony in the trial of jerry sandusky. the former penn state football state is facing 52 charges of child sexual abuse over a 15-year period. we have more on what victim number one had to say in court today. >> reporter: jerry sandusky was loved and respected at penn state but at tomorrow today's witness known as victim number one said he was a sexual predator. victim one, an 18-year-old who just graduated high school described the abuse in graphic detail, sobbing as he told jurors the first time sandusky performed orioles sex on him, he

a new study take as closer look at the dangers with technology like ct scans and mri's. there may be life-threatening consequences. researchers of the 15 ceo yea study about a million patients found that imaging technology doubled the amount of radiation a patient is exposed to. another report in the american -- journal of american medical association -- dentists give us a hard time for not flossing. a study shows good brushing and flossing habits could lower your risk of dying from cancer. people with high levels of dental plaque were 80% more
