but as we go throughout the day, you know what? we're not going to be seeing any type of rain. we're going to be seeing plenty of sunshine. go ahead with your outdoor activities because we do have all five sweeps on as of now. let's start you out with the rain that we are talking about. nottingham, almost an inch of rain, over an inch in mount airy and also sikesville, that's exactly what we like to see. at the airport only .30 inch of rain. so, again, the storms down south really didn't help that moisture to come together. but like i said, we didn't need the flooding. all we needed was the rain. temperatures this morning coming in the upper 60s in nottingham, 63 degrees right now in mount airy and 65 in sikesville. the winds right now pretty much on the calm side, but they will be picking up more as we go into the afternoon at about 15 miles an hour. but this is what we look like hour by hour for today. we start you out at 8:00, that temperature coming in right around 73 degrees. lunchtime 78 and 82, that's exactly where we should be now for this time of the year, so get out there and enjoy. let's get a check now of the abc 2 time saver traffic with lauren cook.

good morning and how are the roads? any accidents? >>reporter: good morning, lynette. no accidents just yet. if you are out in howard county, fortunately no delays on interstate 70. it will be nice and clear from colombia pike all the way over to 695. as far as the south side of 95 is concerned, that's going to be in great shape as well. no delays if you're heading southbound towards 495 or north up towards the tunnel. as we check in and take a live look at the harrisburg expressway, in northern baltimore county, no delays here in hunt valley. it will be a smooth ride from shan road all the way down towards the beltway and it will remain clear once you do get onto the jfx. here's a live look at 895 at o'donnell street. now, major construction will begin at the harvard tunnel just one week from today. you will expect heavy delays all summer. you want to stick with the fort mchenry tunnel or the key bridge and the construction, unfortunately, won't be finished all the way through fall. that is a look at your abc 2 news time saver traffic. megan and charley, over to you. the second victim in the jerry sandusky trial took the stand. he's now called victim number

one. victim number one sobbed on the witness stand talking about the sexual abuse he said he endured as a boy. abc 2 news' sharree johnson is here with what happens today. >>reporter: well, megan, testimony in the jerry sandusky child molestation trial enters its third day as the prosecutors continue building their case against the former penn state assistant coach. on tuesday the court heard from victim number one. the 18-year-old described the abuse in graphic detail, sobbing as he told jurors that the first time sandusky allegedly performed oral sex on him he was just 11 years old. victim number one told jerry sandusky was a sexual predator, a pedophile who hand picked boys from his second mile charity. he said the incidents happened on the nights he slept at sandusky's home. jurors teared up, put their heads in their hands as the victim continued. alleged victim number one told his mother and a guidance counselor in 2008 which then led to the investigation. mike mcqueary, a former penn state assistant coach testified that in 2001 he saw sandusky

standing behind a young boy who was propped up against a wall in a school shower. now, he told the jury that he slammed a door to make noise, but didn't do anything to physically stop the alleged encounter. >> when someone salely -- sexually violates you, it alters your dna, it literally changes the person you were to the person you now have to be which is the person who has to live with this horrific atrocity. >>reporter: victim number one also testified that when he initially reported the alleged abuse to his school, he was urged to not go to the authorities. sharee johnson, abc 2 news. news time right now 5:33. a warning this morning from anne arundel county police and fire after a 6-year-old was targeted in a bottle bomb attack. there was an explosion monday evening at a playground on sunset elementary school where police say two boys threw the bottle at the young girl. fortunately the girl was not injured. the 13 and 15-year-old boys were arrested. police say that the fire officials this morning are pretty concernd about this because this marks the sixth

time there's been a bottle incident this year so far. happening today some of baltimore's recreation centers are scheduled to close to build newer facilities. rallies have been held to protest those closures. in a statement abc 2 mayor stephanie rawlings blake says keeping rundown buildings and depleted staff is simply not an option. she says "in the end it's the right thing to do baltimore's future." news around the nation on this wednesday, frightening video out of lubbock, texas of a toddler who fell out of an suv involved in a police chase, all of this in the past weekend. this is video of that car chase from that night. police are saying the people in the suv stole a purse from someone. a purse. during that chase, the driver lost control and flipped, sending the toddler out of the window and onto the street. amazingly the child was able to stand up and walk away. police later arrested four teenagers in the chase, all this over a stolen purse. the man suspected of killing three people and wounding two others near the auburn university campus could

actually be in court as early as today. the auburn police chief says demonti leonard surrendered on tuesday night. the shootings took place saturday evening at an off- campus apartment complex in auburn. two of those killed were former auburn football players, a current football player was among those wounded. a white california high school student has returned a $1,000 scholarship after he learned that the scholarship committee assumed that he was african-american. you see, 17-year-old jeffrey warren was awarded the money at the school awards last month at the martin luther king high school in riverside. now, the scholarship is given out by the mlk senior citizens club and club members didn't know that warren was white until they called his name after realizing the mixup warren decided he would hand the cash back. >> i know that they were trying to do a good deed for the african-american community and i had no trouble giving it back. >> warren says the scholarship

it's 5:44. thanks for joining us this morning. get ready to set sail right into baltimore. the star spangled celebration kicks off today. abc 2 new's linda stow is live at the inner harbor this morning to tell us about this huge celebration. linda, good morning. >>reporter: good morning, megan. the ships are on their way. they're about to get here in three hours. the first ships set to arrive at 8:30, 9:00-ish. joining me this morning is matthew bonner, you are the commander with the u.s.s. constitution base inside boston. >> yes. >>reporter: but you'll be here this weekend doing all kinds of fun things, starting today? >> we have replica gun shop drills out at patterson park this afternoon and we'll be here through the week, both working with the community, also doing educational outreach. >>reporter: this is going to be a huge event and a little something for everyone, for adults and for kid, right? >> it's going to be great. there's going to be about 4,000 sailors in baltimore today. they'll be open to the public tours where the blue angels fly over fort mchenry over the weekend. i think it's going to be a

this is promote the great american backyard campout and to encourage recreation all summer. the kids will be on the house grounds at 6:00 tonight. the campout is saturday june 23rd. the maryland park service is offering activities such as campfires, animal programs, guided canoeing as well as hiking and crafts. baltimore native and former major league pitcher dave boswell is dead. he's best known for winning 20 games for the minnesota twins back in 1969. he did miss a couple weeks after a fight with then manager billy martin. he played for the twins from 1964 to '70 and then the detroit tigers and the orioles again in 1971. he died at his home in joppa. he was 67 years old. welcome back brian robert, the o's second baseman activated after a year off due to concussion symptoms. lookedded like he'd never went away. he went 3-4 on the night in the win over the pirates. adam joans 4-5 on the night with a two-run home run as baltimore exploded for 15 hits
