responsible for a string of armed robberies. they were meeting right here and when police and atf moved in on them they tried to get away, but they didn't get far. it appears that the passenger side window of the suspect's car had been shot out. the other damage police say from running into two police vehicles. they say an agent from the atf shot the driver in the shoulder this morning, they say he tried to run over agents and police officers but none of them were hurt. this woman didn't want to be identified. she works close by. >> i started to walk toward the door and i heard crashing cars and another boom, i thought it was a horrible accident. >> reporter: that was until she saw police and an atf agent pulling the suspects out of the red car and another van. she sent us these photographs of what she saw. >> crazy. it was scary. i was shaking a little bit. i guess they have it under

control. >> repatf have been watching the group who had gathered here. they say they were responsible for several armed robberies and. >> we have information that led us to believe that they were going to commit an armed robbery today. >> reporter: this wan was walk his dog when he said a man he assumed to be a federal agent came up. >> asked me to not be there. >> reporter: the officers tried to arrest the six suspects, they tried to get away and run down the agents, instead all six have been arrested. >> so scary because so close to home here. >> reporter: and police say they recovered five weapons, and a bullet proof vest here at the scene. all six of the suspects will face federal charge, the one who was shot, his injuries aren't life threatening. >> from the city let's go to baltimore county where police

officer is on leave after an incident that left a man dead and the officer chased down the teen after a group of youth damaged his front door. tonight the mother talked to us. >> reporter: baltimore county police haven't identified the off duty officer who heard a loud bang at his door and proceeded to chase down one of the teens he saw running from his yard. the mother of the 17-year-old christopher brown said he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. >> his friend said he saw a group of kids on the other received the street. christopher walked toward that and suddenly something happened like running. that is the part that i don't understand. >> reporter: police are offering only vague details. >> he chased him and vent eventually caught up with one of them. there was a physical fight and some point during that fight the young man about came

unconscious. >> reporter: the officer cried out for help but he never regained consciousness and was later pronounced dead. christopher's mother learned of the death from police five hours later and she said they wouldn't let her identity his body, calling in school officials instead from. >> i wanted to see him. i just wanted to see if there was any bruises because i don't want them to cover stuff up. i don't want them to push this under the carpet. his school officials got a year book out, said that's him. that's him. that's the kid. he gets in no trouble. he doesn't president . >> reporter: the officer's front door had been damaged but they stopped short of saying any other crime ha been done. a neighbor near the scene of the death questions the officer's use of deadly force. >> there is a line that you know at some point there is a

line. some things you just let go. some things aren't worth a life. >> reporter: abc 2news. >> now christopher's mother said her son played sports but had torn an acl which made it hard for him to run. his death has been ruled a homicide. ? we have the update we first brought you on good morning maryland. we have learned a second person is dead on a head on crash northbound i-97 this morning. he was driving south in the knob lane when she crashed right into another car. witt was pronounced dead and the driver of the second car died later at shock trauma a. those who drive 97 can't imagine seeing a car coming at them the wrong way. >> it is very scary. i would probably get over as soon as i could if i saw a car coming like that's not right. let me pull over. that's probably what they would do but it's scary. >> early in this investigation

bedrapings and alcohol were not a factor according to the police. this crash makes us all remember another crash. one that killed four people back in january. police say a teen was driving the wrongway when she slam to another car on 50 near davidsonville. four people were killed in that case and alcohol was a factor. right now a 29-year-old is in police custody after an argument with his girlfriend. . the argument escalated in into a physical fight. the girlfriend wasn't hurt. the man police say was taking pictures of children at a public bathroom is now facing child porn charges. a jury has indicted the 28-year- old brian matthew williams of westchester pennsylvania. prosecutors say he recorded young boys at the maryland

house and the chesapeake house. those are all the rest stop as long 95 and after a search warrant they found 13 videos of boys using the bathroom on his phone. as of last month they had identified ton two of them. the prosecution is now rested against jerry sandusky. one of his accusers said that he described himself as a tickle monster in the shower. eight haven the stand. >> there is a pattern and that pattern is being -- going on overtime and whoever the victims are being subjected to basically that same pattern. >> reporter: an investigator tried to charge him in 1998 but the da at the time decided not to. sandusky is listed as a potential witness and may take the stand. fell's point we won't forget you. we are getting a better picture on the damage caused by this fire on monday.

the star spangled celebration honoring the 200th anniversary of the war of 1812. did everybody see them today in the blue angels. they can hit the skies. the mayor welcomed the captains to the city, look at that crowd. thousands crowded down take part in the sill celebration. roosevelt will be a sailor. >> reporter: not yet but you know on the 4th of july it's always packed n is like that but on a thursday. thousands have come into seat ships and the history of everything. baltimore was at the heart of what was going on in the war of 1812. they got the national anthem out of this and for a lot of people this has been a walk back through history. thursday it afternoon in downtown baltimore and the fleet is in. tall masts and plenty of flags

from around the world and this guy. >> what so proudly we hailed,. >> reporter: he is supposed to be francis scott key. at centare of the celebration is the birth of a country and his home which was the birth of an anthem. baltimore smells of history from the ships in the harbor. baltimore maryland were a battleground and center of the war of 1812. it showed the england what people could do. >> real great patriots fighting for the american spirit and the american flag and that is what makes me most proud. oning day, what a great day. >> that is why we do this, just to give that -- see and related to that to where we take them to a time and place to where they can meet that
