starting their day. a live report getting you ready for sailabration. >> thanks for joining us that's big story this weekend weather, traffic news wise it's a sailabration. a lot of sailors and people will be walking around so they want to know what the weather will be like why are you laughing? >> i saw so many sailors at the orioles game. >> they look sharp. >> it was packed. >> a man in uniform i tell you. >> yeah. >> pretty nice. let me get back to weather. >> clearly, ladies here. >> yeah. >> let's talk about what's going on this morning because we are nice and dry. whoa look at maryland's most powerful radar. when you see the sweeps we are scanning the skies looking for something. but this morning we are not going to see any wet weather and this will continue even going into the afternoon. for a while, as we look at what's going on the hour by hour forecast for you, we can see we have a good day to contend with this morning, but also we are going to be looking at temperatures earlier today a little on the cool side. should say mild side. so as you step out and about be

prepared for that. we can see some of the temperatures coming in right around 55 degrees right now in towson and 58 in joppa and 64 in sparrows point rock hall at around 57 degrees. and also, we see temperatures in northeast around the eastern shore galena in the upper 50s. so, the spots you might need the jacket but all in all a crisp cool morning. let's check of the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. good morning how are the road. >> reporter: good morning. we are dealing with several accidents trouble in downtown baltimore war crash shut down mull bury street at cathedral and we are on the scene and traveling in the area you want to use park avenue as an alternate. and in howard county another crash shut down the westbound lanes of interstate 70. that's going to be right at route 32 and as we take a look at interstate 70 at columbia pike you won't see delays in this vicinity but they are going to be out there. traffic diverted onto route 32. that portion of the road will be be closed all the way through 7 this morning. if you are use the jfx, no

delays from the beltway downtown and the beltway going to be nice and clear. that west side is looking at an 11-minute trip on outer loop from 7 # 5 towards 95. -- 795 towards 95. 11 minutes from 95 up towards 83. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. news time 5:33. we have new video of a crash in done town baltimore early this morning. -- downtown baltimore early this morning. firefighters say that they had to use of life to rescue three people. no word on the cause or the victims' condition. traffic is not impacted. the story is on abc2news.com on the slide show with pictures of that accident. other news this morning, ships new and old are in port down at the inner harbor celebrating the 200th anniversary of the war of 1812. there is so much for you and your family to do this weekend so let's head down there right now with a preview with abc2 news charley crowson. this looks like such a

spectacular event. >> reporter: it's such a great event all of this commemorating the war of 1812 like you mentioned a moment ago. 40 different ships tall ships naval vessels and submarine and we have a submarine by the national aquarium and we will show you that coming up in bit. offer my shoulder we have the pride of baltimore 2 one of the ships touring up and down the eastern seaboard getting ready for the sailabration and remembering the war of 1812. they came up from virginia from here they will go onto massachusetts and then on up to novembera scotia all -- november scotia. -- nova scotia. a lot of events throughout the course of the day today. it's all about the tours but tomorrow we have the more specific events things like the star-spangled air show featuring the blue angels and earlier on the show we had sarah talking to us about exactly what's going on there. there was confusion that it was sold out. that is not the case at all. they have given out 10,000 free passes but there's plenty of room available for you and your family to get out and enjoy the

fun and the festivities including the blue angels and a fireworks display all going on tomorrow. today it's all about the tours. they start this morning at 11. going until 6 and the festival site is on the federal hillside of the inner harbor. that's opening up at 11 until 9 tonight. see the ferris wheel straight through that part of the pride of baltimore and see it ready this morning. we will be here throughout the course of the morning and coming up in the 6:00 hour, we will be invited aboard the pride of baltimore 2 for more live report throughout the course of the morning. until then, back to the studio he with megan. >> thanks so much. it's been one year since two teens were struck and killed along martin luther king boulevard. and dozens of family members and friends gathered at intersection of mlk and pratt street to remember emerald smith and courtney angeles. police say 29-year-old reuben dunn was driving the car that hit the girl and he took off and switched place was his girlfriend kendra myles in the

passenger seat. she was driving when police stopped the car and pled guilty to being an accessory after the fact and testified in court dunn was driving when the teens were hit. still, the jury determined there was reasonable doubt. >> seeing everybody here, it is overwhelming and makes me cry of happiness that these girls were loved. >> courtney angeles mother says she and her attorney are working on a wrongful death lawsuit against dunn and myles. other news a california boater back on solid ground after a whale hit a boat off the coast of mexico. max young was out whale watching when all of a sudden one smashed into the boat. he was about 40 miles from the coast in a -- and immediately sent out a distress signal and it took hours for crews to get to them but they did and brought him back to dry land safely. making a bed a nightmare for nearly everyone. i wouldn't say nightmare but

thanks for joining us this morning. jurors in the jerry san dust yike try -- sandusky trial are getting a three-day weekend. the prosecution finished calling the 8th victim. the defense cay call -- could call the first witness as soon as monday. governor o'malley and lieutenant governor browne will take part in a faith based leadership summit to give leaders with resources help with their congregations and housing and financial needs that summit starts at noon in annapolis. all right. thousands of pounds of protein being donated to the maryland food bank all in hon aor of the sailabration. smithfield country hams they and united foods and commercial workers with the union are donating the food. navy sailors are part of the volunteers to unload the goods. and alleged book thief is behind bars in northern virginia and police say he didn't steal just a book.
