to keep in mind tug are pushing a cargo ship. the bay bridge will be temporarily shut down at 1:15 and key bridge closed at 3:15 continuing for 40 minutes. expect delays in the area. this morning on the northeast corridor of 95, a live look at white marsh and route 43, everything up to speed and won't be a nice calm ride make the ride towards the beltway. using the harrisburg expressway as we look at drive times, 22 minutes drive from the -- drive from the maryland pennsylvania drive. you are looking at an 11 mind right and 11 minutes on the west -- minute ride and 11 minutes on west side. another traffic alert on 895. construction is beginning later tonight and expected to cause delays at the harbor tunnel for the rest of the summer. live at the tunnel with more on what's expect is abc2 ws sherrie johnson. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. we are live here at the fort mchenry tunnel at the toll

plaza. and let me tell you something. right now all looks good. not too bad as far as traffic is concerned. but major construction begins tonight at 9:00 on interstate 895. this could mean traffic headaches during rush hour tomorrow. drivers are aurged to avoid -- are urged to avoid using the tunnel. road crews will resurface a 55- year-old bridge that will require one northbound lane to be closed for about 8 weeks and then in august one lane in each direction will close. these are repairs that could be backups in both directions and possibly into the tunnel. the worst delays are expected. the first two weeks of august when traffic will be reduced to just one lane in both directions. your best alternate routes are fort mchenry tunnel and key bridge. >> we are hoping we canencourage folks to use the other routes and just try to avoid 895 if they can. if they have to take 895,

expect delays. >> so once again, that construction starts tonight at 9:00 and this construction is expected to go throughout the summer. reporting live in south baltimore, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. news time 4:34 only on abc2, this video taken overnight of a deadly stabbing in eldersburg. we talked to maryland state police overnight who confilled one person has been stabbed to death and a suspect is now in custody. witnesses say at the scene there was a fight at the martin grocery store on londontown boulevard around midnight. witnesses say the fight may have started between two overnight employees. today more than 800 empty school des look fill the national mall representing the number of students nationwide dropping out of school every hour of every day. the movement is reportedly part of the grass roots organization planning to draw attention to education. the event begins at 10 a.m. a panel on the board of public works is poised to approve nearly $10 million enabling a casino operator to

buy the rocky gap large. panel consist of the governor treasurer and state comptroller to consider the matter in annapolis this morning. the resort-side rocky gap statepark is one of five approved sites. the man accused of killing a north carolina teen phylicia barns will be in court this morning. michael johnson is the ex- boyfriend of phylicia barns sister -- barnes sister and is expected to be arraigned. johnson is facing first-degree murder charges. the victim in the latest craigslist robbery fought back and landed in police custody as well. the second craigslist robbery in two days. baltimore police say it happened near the 1600 block after two buyers came with cash for a car. the suspects announced it was a robbery and police say that

kenya oduyoye was with a man but she pulled the gun and opened fire. >> the second victim fired the gun into the air. that scared off the suspect and they began to run. the victim began to chase them with a gun shooting multiple round were fired craigslist which requires a meeting place between the buyer and seller do it in a public area not in neighborhood street. also carry with you a cashier's check so missay they are able to track down suspects if the chack year's check is crashed -- cashier's check is crashed. police are investigating the shooting of a 15-year-old boy. they say it was foul play but as of right now there's no suspect. it happened in ellicott city just after 7 on tuesday evening. the teen was found off frederick road. he was flown to shock trauma. at last check he was in critical condition. grand reopening in the

avenue at railway. if you are use the jfx, no concerns whatsoever just an 11 minute drive from the beltway downtown to east fayette street. heading out to the west side here's what it looks like. everything up to speed. 11 minutes on the outer loop from 795 down towards 95 and here's the beltway in parkville at harford road. no problems to report. it will be a nice easy ride up towards 83. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic now over to you. >> news time 4:41. get ready for delays. a massive new cargo crane are headed to the port of baltimore and they are going to stop traffic on two bridges along the way. four cranes are scheduled to pass under the bay bridge near annapolis and the key bridge near baltimore happening this afternoon. here ewhat you need to keep in mind. the bay bridge closes for 40minutes around 1:15 and the key bridge closed for 20 minutes and that's expected to happen around 3:15. there's a very angry mother in north carolina this morning.

a little excited but again, we will be talking more about that coming up in a little bit. >> thanks. we are continuing the covering the of the events and day seven of the jerry sandusky trial. the most notable witness was sandusky's wife who tack the-- took the stand yesterday. >> linda so is here with what she had to say and the questions that will be asked today. >> reporter: everyone wants to know if jerry sandusky will take the stand. he is ready to testify but a decision won't be made until the defense calls the final witnesses today. yesterday, sandusky's wife took the stand and told jurors she never saw any inappropriate contact between her husband and his accusers. she says several of them would sleep over and it was her husband who would go down stairs to say good night. the defense called several character withins to paint him as church going father figure. earlier jurors heard a unreleased portion of the tv interview from last november.

an anonymous donor has given nearly $2 million to the area schools. it started at 600,000 dollars and enough to save 15 teaching positions. then more than a million dollars was given. that saved another 30 teaching jobs. the donation came after lawmakers denied request for more teacher funding. an arizona woman has a story to tell her newborn child delivering her daughter in the car while her husband was driving. you see they were less than a mile from the hospital when she gave birth. mom and baby are doing well. look how cute the baby is. >> in that situation i guess nature takes its course. >> nothing you can do. >> all right. time for a little weather. and mike, i think you touched on it strongly a few moments ago and it's not the heat it's the humidity. >> that's it. again, we can deal with 90 degrees. it's 90 and 100% humidity and that will prove to be a problem. 73 downtown. we are starting off an very mild note and we know when we start into the 70s we will be easily into the 90s. dew point values between 69 and

70 degrees and it's a muggy morning out there. with the heat and humidity we have some heat alerts and a heat advisory for all the counties and being see excessiv the north and to the east. again dangerous heat coming full force starting today going into tomorrow. in terms of what's going on in the satellite radar picture, you can see not much over the eastern part of the country but a big thunderstorm developing towards the northern and southern plains and that will slide in by thursday and it willbust out the heat and friday into the weekend we will get everything off the coast but today it's tomorrow where we are going to be dealing with the dangerous heat. 95, 94 along the beltways at noontime. we will add to that 97 for the projected high maybe a few spots to near 100 and as you move the timeline into around 11, still into the 90s across the area. so here's the forecast for the rest of the afternoon. again, 2 degree guarantee of going to around 97 degrees. sizzling heat and humidity and real feel numbers between 100
