5:38. thank you for joining us on this thursday morning. billboards are popping up all over parts of texas asking catholics to quit the church. they've come from what's called freedom from religion foundation based in wisconsin and the group is protesting the catholic church because of itself stance on contraception. it chose to put the signs up in the dallas area because the diocese there is suing the obama administration over the contraceptive mandate. the church says the group simply doesn't get it. >> it's apparent that this organization does not have any understanding of the church. nor any understanding of the lawsuit that was filed. >> if you don't -- few don't think this is a good thing you need to do the same thing this i did. send a letter to the diocese and tell them you're quitting the church. >> the billboards are expected to be in one place until the mandate takes effect. diet and exercise that's the best way do lose weight but for some people it's really not enough. what the fda has to say about a

the medical examiner's office says it was a hods. a suspect has been -- homicide. a suspect has been charged but this morning he is at home. a baltimore county police officer is accused of killing 17-year-old christopher brown. abc2 news' sherrie johnson has more. >> reporter: brown's mother is organizing a rally in front of the state's attorney office on

monday. she's calling for an external vex into the death of her -- investigation into the death of her son. she was disappointed yesterday. now brown's mother was hoping for second degree murder and a high bail. a circuit judge allowed laboard to leave the courthouse. he didn't have to post bail. and laboard's attorney argued that the officer has family in the area poses no flight risk and has no previous criminal record. >> let me know you working for me? this shows no signs of that at all. i'm dissatisfied. >> i want to assure everyone that this case was treated just as any other case would be treated by the baltimore county police department and the baltimore county state's attorney's office. the fact that laboard was an off-duty police officer had no bearing on the time it took to evaluate the evidence and to move this case forward to the grand jury. >> reporter: if officer laboard is convicted of manslaughter or

event in memphis after. ancorary the co-host of the "today" show will step down after today. ratings have dropped in recent months and curry said she will stay with the notework and report for "dateline" today and nbc "nightly news." actor charlie sheen's new sitcom debuts on fx. it's called "hang managements." he plays a therapist. cbs fired sheen last year from "two and a half men." today fireworks safety will be the focus in cockeysville. county officials will beholding a demonstration at 10:00 this morning at the agricultural farm park in baltimore county. they will talk about not only fireworks safety but fireworks laws here in maryland. abc2 news will be at the conference and let you know what happens. today naval academy class of 2016 will arrive in annapolis. more than 1100 men and women

>> i sure would. let's talk about the weather megan because people are going to like this. some people aren't. because we're going to get over over the next couple of days or so. satellite and radar, we will start to see a few clouds trying to stream in here through the day but still plenty of sunshine to be had. and that sunshine is going to warm those temperatures up. look at this live shot in dundalk. as we look at the weather bug cameras this morning and you can see the key bridge back there. plenty of blue sky and that's going to be the remainder of today. 68-degrees is what we're getting right now. upper 50s in towson and good morning millersville you're right around # 3 degrees. and -- 63-degrees. and 61 in northeast and 66 middletown this morning and goldsboro coming in at 62. now we have some hot and humid weather that's being orb everyday in and this is all courtesy of the area of high pressure. you get that clockwise flow around high pressure and you're going to get that southwesterly flow and that's going to pump in all that heat that we're going to be seeing and feeling for the next several days. future trend looks like this.
