of teens as generation wired but their interactions are becoming increasingly digital. a nonprofit looks at the impact of media and technology on kid lts. 90% of teens surveyed said they engage in social media, half of them every day. for 68% facebook is the tool of choice. about a quarter consider a heavy social media user, using at least two social media tools a day. texting is the most popular but teens said social media can impact their interactions with one another. one third said they engaged in digital flirting with someone that they would not have done in person and some have said something negative to someone on line when they would not say it to their face.
