to frustration. hall hasn't seen a bge truck in her parkville neighborhood for days. judging by the wires wrapped around or a downed utility pole, there's plenty of work to do, just no foreseeable date to do it. >> i call the line and this says it's pending. what does that mean pending. no one has come down do clop down tree limbs. no one has come to look at the -- >> we're starting to get frustrating. >> it is frustrating. >> reporter: down the block that is starting some to get creative. follow the maize of power cords to his house. >> that house, that house. >> reporter: his is one of six homes connected with this spa get -- spaghetti of cords. >> i would never believe this if i wasn't a part of it. for someone to extend themselves

another news conference to emphasize the work being done eight people have died in our state since last friday's storm, four from the storm itself, four from the heat. the governor said the number of out of state crews has doubled since his news conference yesterday. >> i'm not satisfied until every home is restored but i have seen steady progress, and that progress is happening in manyine estimates that were given to us immediately following this hurricane-like hit by the utility company. >> officials are telling us to tell you if you still have not had power to restore, call the utilities and keep reminding them. >> all right. how he's alivion. 19-year-old dylan luiza survived a walk right into a set of downed power lines in edgewater. this is unbelievable. joce sterman today talked with

hem. you've got to be amazed with this recovery. >> reporter: jamie, i can't get over it. dylan is at home. he spent two nights at bay view with third degree burns on his thigh and feet. besides that he's got no real damage. that in and of itself was a miracle. dylan was walking with friends. they were checking out storm damage, tired of being cooped out without air conditioning. while walking, help went toward the car and ran dead on into a set of downed wires that were strung across the field as a result of a power pole. his friends thought hi was dead and wondered what he who -- what they would say to his parents. when he came to he had severe burns. >> the fact them a' here, i know not too many people would survive, so definitely lucky on

that point. >> reporter: bge does own that power pole. they told us they did confirm that the power pole and that issue has been repaired. so what about dill plan? he is a la crosse player for mcdaniel. he was supposed top spend the summer lifeguarding. now he will be couch surfing instead under the watchful eye of his mom karen, who is a nurse. >> thank you, joce sterman. howard firefighter -- howard county firefighters spent this day going neighborhood to neighborhood looking for people who could be putting themselves in danger using a generator. they had an inter?riew three homes. in all the homeowners were using generators unsafely leading to dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide. there were only a few headaches.

there are a lot of neighbors still where one street may have power and the others don't. people who live here are luckier than most. he's got power. he set up a generator for his mom, her neighbor and another neighbor. >> my mom, one air conditioner. and my neighborrings -- they have that air conditioner. >> carl's wife alsos inned a man across the -- noticed across the street had no sump pump. he helped. a va -- a virginia man accused in a deadly hit and run will stand trial in september. he was arraigned on 10 counts

including negligent homicide by car, driving under the flins influence and leaving the scene of the accident. he killed matthew cheswick. >> we are more than 24 hours away from the fireworks display at the inner harbor. after the celebration last year, remember, a man was stabbed to death with a broken bottle on pier 5. then we had a 4-year-old boy walking with his dad shot in the leg. this year baltimore police have a new plan to make sure it's safe. they will be using a perimeter fence made up of bike racks about waist high. that will control the crowd. they will be watching them in real time using city watch cameras and the police helicopter. >> we don't want anyone getting hurt. we don't want to see that page come across last year for that innocent 4-year-old kid.

new lines. that apparently is not going to get in the way. the owners of this home are on vacation. from what a breg crew -- bge crew leader said, they asked for it not to be removed but the power will be restored for 140 customers we understand on stevenson lane. these are some of the fine folks that might get power on. they're telling us before dark. scott, what has life been like? >> test been tough. tough on my wife and kids because i did to work but they seem to be surviving. >> reporter: you're thinking of another plan? >> i'm thinking of another hotel. there's one attached to the mall. i think they would like that. >> reporter: what's life been like for you these past four days? >> well, it's in the been easy. i don't know, just kind of hard

our power, we got a lot of help from our neighbors to the north, south, all thanks to a well executed plan. the system is set up to allow crews to act fast in a case of an emergency. >> each crew has a dispatcher. they head out. >> head out to areas they don't know because many of the workers are far from home. >> they're coming as far away as florida, tennessee, michigan, and even quebec, texas. >> others have set up shot -- shop. there's food, wart and ice and -- water and laundry service. >> we have a mobile laundry service. trailers. we work with them and help these guys get their laundry turned

around in 24 hours. we keep them happy. >> so why do they do it? leave their homes where the lights are on to come help us. >> linemen are a very proud trade. they love to help out. they love to make sure that everybody's safe and they love to make sure that customers get back on. >> thanks for being here. tell you what, they're all coming in from canada, texas, florida, mississippi. >> all hands on deck. it is neat how the power companies band together. let's get right into it. we're tracking a couple storms to the north and west. you can see basically out toward west virginia where one cluster is coming through. this one will go south of our immediate area. however, this cluster over chambersburg a bit more

disturbing. it will track into the northern part of washington county and carroll county and baltimore county, so keep a close eye. right now hour current warnings do include allegany county, washington county and recently frederick county. is this anything on par with friday, no, but it's an unwelcome thunderstorm, passing over deep creek lake and passing over frostburg in the last hour or so. part of that broken line of storm lts. humidity at 30%. muggy conditions beginning to crop in from the south and -- creep in from the south. could they be higher or worse? yes, but it's a moot point. we think things will get more humid and more intense heat wise. that will keep the chance for a storm. the the heat index values 100.

so as the storm dips out of pennsylvania you can see plenty of heat and humidity to help fuel the storms. the line doesn't show near the intensity or the storm structure that we had as we went into friday night. that's a duratio event. so that was an extremely rare event. this is more of a tip cam boundary line -- typical boundary line. we see them draped from upstate new york to points south and west. hotter conditions continue to flow in. it will fuel a day of extreme heat into the mid to upper 90s with the humidity increasing. so it's in the just hour 4th of july but thursday and friday look hot and trying to pinpoint the storm chances is difficult to do. we think 2 a.m. we could see pop-up storms. the storm is possible for your

4th of july. you have to factor that into your plans. 73, partly cloudy, muggy right into the fourth as we climb to the upper 90s. tomorrow night muggy, 75. you see conditions staying sticky and getting hotter. unfortunately, for those without power you have to do all measures to stay cool as temperatures surge. jamie? >> for those of us with scrapes and cuts we put a band-aid on it. what happens when you get a cut in your mouth, especially if you bite your lip. there's a tiny new patch that sticked to the inside of your mouth. >> reporter: if you have a lesion in your mouth, you're given a few option. do nothing, have your dentist keep an eye out on it or have it cut out and biopsied.
