long campout in our house. >> reporter: many are still relying on ice and water delivery. in texas they're chilling out in cooling centers. >> won't be out there all sweaty. >> reporter: out west the biggest concern continues to be wildfires. firefighters quickly put out this raging brushfire in palm dale north of los angeles. there's word the most destructive fire in colorado's history is finally contained. more than a dozen states are banning fireworks over fears of fires. zoos are taking extra precautions in these had the and dry conditions. >> went to see the lions earlier and they had gone back in. >> reporter: it appears everyone is trying to find a way this bet

the heat -- to beat the heat. it is expected to continue through the week. reporting for abc2 news new york. emily moses was riding the green line train when it lost power. the driver told passengers the rescue train had lost power, too. the temperatures were in the mid-90s and the terrain was uneven. she was concerned about the preeing -- pregnant women and elderly. pools will operate on two-hour sessions. they will be closed between 3:00 and 3:30 to clean out.
