temperatures be in the future? let's check in with meteor will gist mike masco in for lynette what is in store. >> we are hoping cooler temperatures come in. it's going to be lower humidity today. but still some storms popping across the area. look at the houston shoreline getting rocked with storms. ocean city towards dover much of the attered showers and stea showers especially a-- and lightning coming down and that's going to cross along 70s. there could be a localized flash flooding. we have local area roadways in central franklin county or frederick county that have flooded out some. 77 in town a very mild 79 around d.k. and -- d.c. and we are starting out 77 on the way for 87 degrees. there could be an isolated shower or thunderstorm but the theme to the forecast is warm but less humid. notice we are not talking

hundred degree weather. let's talk about the seven-day forecast in a minute. now lauren cook has a check on the roads. >> reporter: good morning. if you are headed to the tunnels, no delays. it's clear through the fort mchenry tunnel and harbor tunnel. we have all the construction south of the harbor tunnel toll plaza. later this morning that could change. you can use the fort mchenry tunnel or key bridge as an alternate route. looking live at 95 on white marsh everything up to speed at route 4 3. nice and easy down towards the beltway. and as we pull up drive times, here's a live look at the jfx that's going to take you 11 minutes southbound from the beltway downtown to east fayette street. 695 nice and clear and no concerns the outer loop from 795 towards 95. that stretch will take you 11 minutes. also looking at an 11-minute ride from 95 up to 83. now over to you. today investigators will continue looking into the cause of a fire that killed a woman in an annapolis home. sherrie johnson joins with us more on what fire investigators

are going to be looking for today. >> reporter: investigators are trying to figure out exactly what caused this fire. the victim has not been identified but investigators say she was in a mid-50s. neighbors say she lived alone after her husband died. the fire was called out around 10 sunday morning on newport avenue in arundel on the bay community. now firefighters say the fire was so intense with flames shooting through the roof for 40 minutes once inside, they found the woman's body in herup stair -- upstairs bedroom a dog trained to sniff out clues was brought in. they are not sure if it is sniffing for excel rants. >> -- being a sell rants. >> to bring in -- accelerants. > we bring in dogs to make sure we have everybody accounted for. >> it was terrifying looking at it i couldn't imagine somebody being in there. >> reporter: investigators say there were smoke alarms in the home and they are not sure if

they are working -- if they were working at the time of the fire. they don't have a cause. arson has not been ruled out. sherrie johnon, abc -- johnson, abc2 news. dozens are looking for a new place to call home a fire rigged through a complex. part of the building collapsed and before the fire crews came to get it under control, theblazing heat didn't help. one fear fighter suffered from heat ex-- firefighter suffered from heat exhaustion. families are being held through the red cross. today, two fire companies in baltimore will close. it's part of the mayor's budget to save money and pa. bc -- abc2's linda so is here to explane why another fire company was set to close will stay open for now. >> reporter: the fire chief has decided to keep truck 10 in west baltimore running for another 3 months. it will stay open at least until october. the president of the fire unionhopes that will give city leaders more time to find a way

to save truck 10 but the same can't be say the for two other companies. truck 15 in east baltimore and squad 11 on the city's south side as of today will be shut down permanently. the crews will be reassigned to other firehouses. fire chief jim clack says cutting the companies will prevent the rotating firehouse closures going on for the past two years. all three fire companies wereslated to close july 1st but the city kept it opened to respond to the storms that hit the area last week. with the heat wave about to break good news for those who lost power. bge says it restored more than 748,000 customers with much needed light and air. the utility repaid more than 100,000 additional outages brought on by the extreme heat but we are learning this more that as many as 6,000 people are without power as those storms move through once again this morning megan. >> families of three young boys are mourning the death today. the boys two 12-year-old

cousins and 8 -year-old friend drown in a shallow creek. all three were pulled from the creek sunday morning and autopsies will be performed here in baltimore. the relatives say the creek where they were found is deceptively dangerous and they hope something changes after these drownings. and no word on suspects in a deadly shooting in baltimore county early sunday morning. police were called to the darlington drive area of parkville after neighbors heard gunshots. police found a man in the street and he was pronounced dead at the scene. his identity has yet to be released. hundreds of volunteers will be on the ground at the arlington national cemetery. >> we will tell you what they plan to do to honor american vets. >> also this morning we are talking about uprooted trees and cars crushed and power lines massive cleanup underway after storms in several states. lauren. >> reporter: everything is up to speed at 695. i will show you how traffic isshaping up on 83 coming up on "good morning maryland."

let's look at radar and showers and storms across the area. hook at the eastern shore out over dover pretty good downpours and thund erin lightning. we will go into city limits from 695 heading towards 195 towards south of town around brooklyn park. seeing good downpours and out towards the west mount airy along 70 seeing thunder and lightning at this point. some pretty good downpours going on. we will switch it over to this radar product and see rainfall rates and the cells have been between about an inch to an inch and a half across the area. just be aware of that. we have a flash flood warning in effect for frederick county. that's up until 5:45 this morning. in terms of temperatures, 75 in town right now. dc hanging close to 80 degrees. and we will see our temperatures rise during the course of the afternoon. lunchtime 81 and 87 around the 4:00 hour and we will go back down to around 80 heading towards 8. so your 2 degree guarantee going tore 87 -- going for 87 degrees.

that's going to be the theme to the weather. we have been talking rainfall rates a inch to an inch and a half. the seven-day forecast lower humidity and temperatures. that's the theme. we will show you that in a little bit. >> 4:48. and news around the nation a 16 month old girl near indianapolis is recovering after being left-side an suv. police broke a window to get the girl out saying temperatures inside was near 124 degrees. the girl was rushed to the hospital and again having seizures. she is listed in critical but stable condition. and the girl's mother faces a felony neglect charge. police say she had been shopping for an hour as the young girl stayed inside the s. vu. >> clean up-- s vu. cleanup -- be suv. cleanup will go on in new jersey. a woman was strk by lightning. she is -- struck by lightning. she recovering and thousands are without power after the heavy thunderstorms. cleanup could be brutal today because it's another day of heat that is creeping across

the country. heavy rain left a highway in boulder colorado closed in both directions. officials reported multiple mud slides in the area that covered the roadways. people and around the spot filled sand bags to keep the -- sandbags to keep the mud off the property. the high park wild fires made the hillsides vulnerable to erosion and heavy downpour caused the soil to give way. reports out of fredericksburg virginia were injured after trying to pull students of a dance studio. the walls collapsed and roof flew a few hundred feet and land on a house. no one was home and the roof of a strip mall was sheered off. 4:49 and hours after meeting president obama an ohio woman is dead. the president made a breakfast stop at a diner in akron and josephine harris drove up to meet him and also have a picture made with the president. she owns the restaurant. she talks about her experience at a local newspapers.

policies and calls them a failure. democrats say we have a long way to go but have made significant process saying there's been straight months of job growth in the private sector and more than 4.4 million jobs created. meanwhile a cnn, usa today poll says the president holds a slight edge over romney in 12 swing states. good morning. let's look at maryland's most powerful radar showing steady rains for the beltways. baltimore city to brooklyn park towards edgemere and essex and thunder and lightning along mount 70. going towards owings mills. so steady rains across the region and then tremendous amount of lightning. look at this along the delaware beaches towards ocean city. that's rolling off the coast as we speak. in terms of how much rain that has been falling, some of the bands of rain have been putting down an inch to two inches of rein fall per hour. we have been watching that on the radar and for that reason, we had a few flash flood

warnings. one over frederick county is up until 5:45. localized flooding going on right now. but we could see localized flooding about any part of the area this morning. 75 in town. rain cooled 75 in dc and going towards salisbury still holding onto 7-- 79 degrees. there's cold front to the south and this will continue to sink south during the course of the afternoon. eventually we get into more of a northerly wind flow. that breaks down the humidity and allows for pretty nice looking day. but again that front is situated towards the south so we could see maybe a bubble up shower or thunderstorm during the course of the afternoon. north 68 over central p.a. and beyond that 50s over interior new england. that's the cool air on the march towards the south and modifies heading towards the state and we will see the daytime highs into the 80s and two degree guarantee this afternoon for 87 degrees. sunshine and clouds less humid. tonight this could be an

isolated bubbleup shower or thunderstorm. that down to the south close enough to allow for storm. but look at overnight lows. nice and comfortable 68. 85 for tomorrow. and afternoon storms developing. 7-day forecast looks like this. and again temperatures will stay steady now. keeping in mind we should be around 85 for the high. so we will be on par for average next several days. 87 today, 85 for tuesday and nice looking day on wednesday 87. but humidity builds back in heading towards friday into next weekend with temperatures into the 80s. roads are wet how are we doing on the roads? i am sure it's going to be a mess later. >> reporter: the rain is leading to a hectic commute. an accident on interstate 70. right on the eastbound lanes a car spun out so be emphasis tray-- -- extra careful n baltimore a accident in canton at eastern. if you are traveling 695 here's what it looks like in towson. no problems at york road a nice ride. altogether 11 minutes on the outer loop from 95 up towards
