education will release the state school assessment results for 2012, that's all happening downtown. this is the time to look at students progress. [no audio] [technical difficulties] >> reporter: ms a exams are given to third through 8th grade students. 360,000 students took the exams in the spring. the data is used to determine whether schools meet the no child left behind requirement. we have dr. dallas, the new superintendent for baltimore county public schools. welcome, your second week on the job. we had the severe storms, knocked out power. it threw you in. >> it's a part of the job. today we get our own report card. how did we do in our goal to make sure our skids are meeting the benchmark. we are excited. >> reporter: in this upcoming school year, what are your

9:00 this morning. we will have more on that on line and coming up in our 5:00 and 6:00 news cast. a fight breaks out in a florida courthouse. it's caught on camera. witnesses came to testify in a stand your ground case but threw punches. a detective got banged up as he was trying to break the fight up. several people were arrested as you would expect. one person was taken to the hospital and suffered a jaw injury probably catching a punch. . this is becoming all too familiar. a brawl caught on type at a little league game. it started after a parent of one of the teen players started

playing loud music. fans from the other team came over and said turn the music down. it wasn't turned down, heated words were exchanged. police had to break up the fight. two people arrested, both charged with disorderly conduct. do you remember the lifeguard fired from rescuing a swimmer? the city of hellen dale beach presented the man with a key to the city. this was the first time the victim got to meet the man who saved him face to face. lopez was offered his job back but the young man declined. quick how many devices in your home use the internet?

good morning, i'm charley crowson. it's tuesday, july 10th. we have a lot going on today. showers today, it will be nothing like this. flash flooding across parts of north carolina. drivers are forced to abandon cars, up to 30 left on the interstates because of the high and rising waters. national weather service says 5 inches of rain fell across greensboro, north carolina. time for a check of the forecast. they were talking about rafts taken from car to car. some of the cars were submerged from the rising waters. >> they are not out of it yet. north carolina dealing with showers for today due to the fact the stationary front is on the boundary of north carolina
