looks like in white marsh at 93. overall an easy ride if you are using 95 to get into the city. and as we take a look at some drive times no delays on the jfx. just 11 minutes traveling southbound from the beltway all the way downtown to east fayette street. 695 nice and clear and the west side on the outer loop you're looking at an 11 minute ride and as well from 95 all the way up to 83. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. megan and charlie, over to you. today a much anticipated report into how penn state university handled the jerry sandusky case is going to be released. >> this morning abc2 news linda so is here with a preview of what we could learn today. >> reporter: who learned what and when about the jerry sandusky case and if they did snuff to stop -- enough to stop it. an independent group has been investigating the role for seventh months. the report is expected to

reveal if former football coach joe paterno and other top penn state officials tried to hide sex abuse allegations involving sandusky. sandusky was convicted of 45 counts of child sex abuse last month and is awaiting sentencing. paterno's family released a letter on wednesday that the head coach actually wrote himself to football players before he died. in that letter paterno denies allegations of a cover-up and defends his football program. we've learned the report is expected to be up to 200 pages long. penn state's president is expected to hold a press conference sometime this afternoon to respond to the report. linda so, abc2 news. new this morning more evidence will be released in the trayvon martin and george zimmerman shooting case. martin was shot by neighborhood watchman george zimmerman back in february and according to the orlando sentinel the new evidence includes what fbi agents turned up in the civil rights investigation. that includes an e-mail from zimmerman to bill lee, police

chief. zimmerman faces second degree murder charge in the case. this morning a scholarship fund is now being set up honoring a former principal at chesapeake high school. they came together last night remembering their former principal dr. william norman. they say he was murdered and two teens have since confessed to the crime and he was the first principal at chesapeake in pasadena from 1976 until 1983. in the 5:00 half hour we're going to hear if those who knew him -- from those who knew him. a wrong-way crash on i-97 last month. police say alcohol was a factor after originally saying it doesn't. it happened june 13set and two peopledy -- 13th and two people died including kelly whit. the driver of the other car also died. this morning the tankers involved in the massive train fire in columbus, ohio are

still burning. this was breaking news yesterday on "good morning maryland" and those tankers must cool before the remaining ethanol can be removed from inside them. that will let investigators get in for a closer look as they try to figure out what caused that train to derail. they are departmented to be at the scene for the -- expected to be at the scene for the next ten days. the storm has passed and now the questions begin, will you have to absorb the cost of clean-up and repair? we spoke with bge after reports surfaced the company would pass on the cost of the storm to the customers. while the bill stabilization adjustment does exist it doesn't apply to major storm outages lasting more than 48 hours. >> any of the customers roughly that were out of service for more than 24 hours, they would see the charge on the bill and then also see a credit for the correspondenting amount. >> bge adds the maryland public service commission would be the only group who could approve such a hike. well, a new study comes out

police department. the fraternal order of police created a plan to cut crime and taxes. union leaders say that the department needs to enhance recruiting and officer benefits if they want to continue with recent success in cutting violent crime. >> you have an fop here saying we don't need more police. what we need is better policing, a better deployment of the resources and taking better care of the police officers on the street who got the job done for you over the last four, five years. >> wants the department to require new recruits to have completed either two years of college or military service. the union brought in a consulting group and compared the city's police department to those in other major cities to come up with the list of recommendations. hundreds of public service workers in scranton, pennsylvania including the mayor have now cut their pay to minimum wage. the mayor went against the court order when he slashed the wages. he says the city had no choice

with a $16 million deficit and simply can't pay the bills. this is a problem more and more cities are now facing. in california they announced earlier this week it's now seeking bankruptcy protection. well, the number of young adults earning a college degree is up slightly but still far below the level to reach the president's goal of having the u.s. rank first in worldwide college grads. it's now being released today by the department of education. rising tuition costs is one reason. time now for health news for you and doctors say there may be a link to the antibiotics given to chickens and serious infection found in women. the drugs have created a new strain of e. coli super resistance to antibiotics. it's causing painful and long- lasting bladder infections in women and physicians are struggling to find treatments. >> our super clever, they are very smart. we call them bugs and think of them as super but they are very

smart. >> the chicken industry disputes the research. they can it's unlikely -- they believe it's unlikely it comes from poultry at all. mothers who breast-feed a surprising side effect down the road. a study found that for every six months that women spend nursing they had a 1% reduction in body mass index later on in life. women who breast-fed as young mothers also tended to have lower bmi. and another factor that can affect your weight. is the decision to quit smoking, although it's good for the heart and lungs it can be bad for the waistline. on average. people gain about 10 pounds after quitting smoking. the weight gain is not surprising sense nicotine is an appetite suppressant and a stimulant. regardless of the findings doctors still say you are better off quitting. ten minutes until 5:00 on thursday morning. lynette is back with a check of the forecast. you were talking about how things could be calming humidity-wise. which would make things more comfortable today. >> you're right. so happy to show you the dew

points in just a minute. but charlie stepping out the door this morning we're nice and seasonable with the temperature in baltimore coming in around 67 degrees. we're at 66 in york and 70 into hagerstown and 64 winchester and also culpeper. now to the dew points making it feel a little bit more comfortable this morning. look at york, 57 for a dew point. when we get in the 50s feeling pretty good outside there. and then we have the low 630s basically everywhere else. not until we get to the mid 60s above that that's where we really start feeling the humidity and 70s very oppressive but not close to that today. enjoy because change is on the way. that's just second away. but the satellite and radar looking pretty good right now. mainly cloud cover to the south of us and still dealing with the frontal boundary to the south as well and also the sunshine for today. so today will look like it did yesterday. we get that mix of sun and clouds. as high pressure will do its thing once again basically keeping the clouds at bay. and there's that stationary front. what, the third day that i've shown you this stationary front still a player in our weather

but once again, squashed down to the south. and you can see on the southern side of that that's where you're getting the humidity and heat. well, that will begin to push in our direction as we go through the next several days. but for today, we're going to get a break out there. future trend picking up on an isolated shower. mainly off to the north and west as we go into the afternoon. but for the most part, we will stay dry for today. just like we did yesterday. now look at the future temperatures because as we go through the afternoon that temperature coming in around 90 degrees and you've heard me say it. we should be at 88 degrees and pretty seasonable for today. 90 again tomorrow and do it all over again and by saturday morning, look at that temperature. 74 degrees. yes, we are really going to start to heat things up so be prepared for that. here's a check of the --horse a check of the seven day forecast for you as the humidity will begin to return as we head into the weekend. and look at the heat. 92, 93, 94. you add in the humidity and going to feel much hotter than that.
