is nice and clear. not too many cars out there yet. there will be a nice easy ride headed into the city. drive times no concerns on jfx. a 11 minutes from the beltway downtown and 695 on great shat from 795 up towards -- shape from 795. and 11 minutes on the outer loop from 95 up to 83. megan and charley, over to you. >> we begin with two breaking news stories the first out of carroll county. police are investigating a double shooting from overnight that left one person dead. it happened at the harvest inn on liberty road. the second victim was flown to shock trauma. no word from state police on a motive or even suspects. developing story from overnight, this out of new york jfx airport a delta flight bound for madrid headed back to the airport two hours after taking off thursday night after an airmal-- marshal found a suspicious wire in the bathroom. investigators found those wires and no explosive device. a man and woman were briefly

questioned and later released. that flight delta 126 left jfx for madrid about 90 minutes ago. 4:32. a dc police officer is investigated this morning for allegedly threatening to shoot first lady michelle obama. linda so is standing by with the latest on the investigation this morning. linda. >> reporter: we have learned officer -- the office aer has been placed on administrative duty after making the alleged comment he would the shoot the first lady. he is part of a special motorcycle duty assigned to escort white house officials. according to the washington post he made the threats wednesday morning while discussing white house security. he also showed a picture on his phone of the gun he would use. the secret service along with dc police and internal affairs are investigating. sources familiar with the investigation say the remarks appear to be an offhand comment and were intended as a joke. the secret service says the first lady was never in danger. still, it doesn't sit well with

of paterno is marred. the board accepts full responsibility for the failures that ocussed and sandusky awaits sentencing on 45 counts. giant finds against bge and pepco. two state senators wants them to pay more than $100 million each. they claim that it took too long for bge and pepco to restore power after last month's powerful storms. the senators from montgomery and pg counties believe the money should be used to create a surge reserve fund to pay for additional trained workers and to help restore power faster in the future. police are trying to figureout what caused a crash that killed a teen. he was driving on columbia road early yesterday morning when he lost control of the car smashing into a tree. police say speed was definitely a factor. they are looking into whether or not curtis was drinking. he leaves behind a girlfriend and two young children. >> he turned his life around.

yesterday afternoon at saddle brook apartments. they pulled him out of th water and performed cpr until med, arrived. he was still unconscious when they got there. this morning he remains in critical condition and we will keep you posted on changes. a north carolina man is behind bars this morning accused of having more than 100,000 dollars of heroin on him. maryland state police say that the trooper stopped the car on 95 in perryville following another car too closely. that's why i was -- he was pulled over. the officer suspected drugs and called in a drug-sniffing dog and a dog found it bundle up. he faces charges and is being held on $200,000 bond. a new antigang initiative gets underway in chicago. it's partnership between chicago police and the chicago project for violence prevention. the number of gang related murders and shootings in the city is surging in 2012. one way chicago is trying to clamp down on gang fights is by

demolishing vacant buildings where gang members are known to hang out. look at this. authorities are now trying to identify two suspects seen robbing an exxon gas station in this video. one of them hit the clerk with a gun. all of this happened friday on switzer lane in laurel. officers say the suspects grabbed cash and took off. if you have information, call the number on the screen. 301-772-4905. scamers are very good at trying to sell you products that look like the real thing but they are completely fake. the problem is, it's worse online and that's why federal agents are cracking down on counterfeit websites. 70 sites have been seized this week for selling fake productsat a fraction of the cost. they are trying to sell anything from nfl gear to baby carriers. >> as is with all counterfeit goods, they were substandard mockups of the article. they don't have the same quality. there's no quality control, and it was some products that there

can be a public safety hazard. >> so experts suggest you try to verify the website that you visit and make sure they are legit. if it's too good to be true, it's probably fake. when was the last time you used a phone booth? with more of us on smart phones, phone booths have become more and more obsolete. however, new york city is trying to change that. they have launched a project that lets you sur of the internet for free while at a pay phone booth. the service is paid for by phone operators. and they are look into other ideas to convert them into something useful like gps mapping or security cameras. no doubt about it, ice cream is a favorite summertime treat and there are apps dedicated just to the dessert. one app is tested that allows you to track down the nearest ice cream truck and there's another one called ep curious recipes and that gives you ideas on how to make desserts with ice cream. and there's one that will let you down load and learn this

shower and possibly this afternoon. but here's the weather pattern. so once again we still have the stationary boundary sitting out there to the south of us. but also we have the area of high pressure out into the atlantic ushering in a nice flow of moisture. so with that, we have the cloudscoming in here as we go through the morning and the afternoon. and i am not going to say we are not going to see sunshine. but we will have the clouds for today. so as we look ahead to the weekend, that stationary front will move through as a warm front and that's how we will begin to heat things up and turn things a little more humid going through time. future trend not picking up on a lot but we have those scattered showers around. be prepared for that. have the rain gear happenedy in case you get trapped under the scattered shower or isolated shower. for today, i am going with 88 because we will have a few more clouds out there. humidity will stay at bay as we go throughout the day. but then it will move back in as we head into the weekend. so that check of the seven-day forecast, you can see, we get
