ravens running back ray rice now hoping to bring a ray of hope against teen bullying. >> this morning linda so is here with everything you need to know about a great event going on tonight. linda. >> reporter: yeah, the best part is it's free. it's the second antibullying event aimed at getting kids to be kind and caring to one another and to save lives. the event called a ray of hope is a kindness antibullying teen suicide outreach. first event was held in may at howard high school. tonight's event kicks off at 6 at merry weather post pavilion starting at 7 and featuring a 22 minute film put together by students. now again this event is free but you need to rsvp ahead of time by going to ww.rayrice27.com. kids under 13 need to be accompanied by a parent. linda so, abc2 news. this weekend a fund-raiser will be held to help a woman who was shot in the neck in may. she was sitting in a traffic

light and another car pulled up next to her and a man shot her and she is paralyzed from the neck down. friend and family members will hold a fund-raiser for her on sunday at the living well studio and that's at 2443 north charles street from 7 until 10 in the evening. police are hoping you can spot these guys and help them catch suspects. take a look at this video. two people robbing an exxon gas station in laurel. this happened friday morning on switzer lane. suspects made the clerk get on the ground and they grabbed the cash and took off. if you have any idea who they may be, call police as quickly as possible. and in massachusetts a man tried to rob a convenience store but was stopped from the clerk to fight back. it was caught on surveillance video. see the man wearing a hoody walking into the convenience store in fall river. when the clerk sees the knife in the man's hand he throws food a gallon of water and finally hit the suspect with a

metal baseball bat. >> the employee was scared so he tried to poe text himself -- protect himself. >> getting it done. people -- police hope the footage will help them catch the suspect. look at this because we have incredible video. flames into the air from a represent tured gas -- ruptured gas line in st. louis. the smoke could be seen for miles. a nearby apartment building was evacuated and streets were cleared of cars. crews sprayed the building trying to keep them from catching on fires. check this out. house fire chico california you may ask why are we reporting this? it started because the home owner was trying to get rid of a spider. the aftermath shows is shown. the home owner used a blow tore to have remove cobwebs in the yard and ignited dry plants and you see where this goes from here. the house catches fire.

make the drive towards edmonton. and as far as the beltway is concerned, overlea at bel air road outer loop slow towards lock rain and no delays towards 95. that's -- loch rain and no -- raven and no delays towards 95. detectives are making on -- working out details on a double shooting that left a person dead. it happened on liberty road in eldersburg. the second victim has been flown to shock trauma. no word on the person's condition or what may have led up to the shooting but we expect to to get more information from state disdid -- expect to get more information from state police. investigators are work on a shoot involving one of their own. just before midnight, members of the county tactical team were serving a warrant on a home in the 400 block of high meadow court in reisterstown. that's when they way tacked by a person with a weapon and shot and killed the person. the body is taken in for an autopsy and the identity has yet to be released. a dc police officer is

investigated for allegedly threatening first lady michelle obama. >> abc2's linda so is standing by with the latest on the investigation this morning. linda. >> reporter: we learned that the officer is placed on administrative duty and hasn't been identified. but we know he worked in a special operations division. the office aer is part of a motorcycle detail assigned to escort white house officials including the president f he is at times assigned to the first lady. according to the washington post, the police officer made the threats wince wednesday morning during a conversation -- wednesday morning during a conversation about white house security and used his phone to find a picture of the gun he would use. sources familiar with the investigation say the comments were overheard by another office here reported it to a higher up. the remarks appeared to be an offhand comment and were intended as a joke. still, it's not sitting well with some. >> when you sign on for a job to protect and serve, that's your job. >> reporter: this secret service says the first lady was never in danger and the office

are remains on desk duty and he will likely face administrative action not criminal charges. linda so, abc2 news. 6:46 right now. a terrible case of animal cruelty in baltimore city. a dog who was clearly starving was found inside a trash can. the dog did survive and this morning it's in the care of about. arcs. they call him thor. he's pit bull and they say 5 years old. caretakers at the shelter say he should weigh 50 popped and weighs 28. and -- pounds and weighs 28. a an officer was called out for report of a stray dog. they found him in trash can. a foster owner has agreed to take care of thor while he is recovering. >> he's strong guy and tough. -- he's a strong guy and tough. so far things look good. i am hopeful. >> official say the animals abandoned when a person leaves or is evicted from the home and it doesn't have to be that way.

call barcs to get help here's the number 410-39#-4695. a georgia woman is heading to prison after she was found guilty of injecting customers buttocks with silicone. a judge sentenced kimberly smedley and prosecutors said she had no lies tones practice medicine. she gave injection of industrial grade silicone to patients in hotel rooms in a number of cities including ball $30,000 in fines and restitution. yahoo is scrambling to figure out how hackers got information of more than 400,000 users. an anonymous group put the passwords on apologized and urges useers to change passwords regularly and say 5% of the breached accounts did have valid passwords. this morning lawmakers are outraged over team usa's olympic uniforms not because of the way they look but because they are made in china.
