let's get to the weather with lynette charles. scattered showers. >> we did have rumbles of thunder overnight. the streets are wet. things are starting to taper off. that's good news on maryland's most powerful radar. we can see a couple of isolated scattered showers, petersburg, franklin, west virginia. things are drying out nicely. 73 now in aberdeen. 76 edgemere. buoy around 74 degrees. when you have the temperatures this warm, we are going to get hotter. a heat advisory in effect for 8 today that goes in at lunchtime until 8:00. that's for the areas here shaded in the orange color. baltimore city, county, you are under that through the remainder of today. i will talk about when the heat wave will break, those details coming up. if you are traveling through the tunnels this morning, construction does continue on 895, no delays. the northbound lanes of 895,

clocking in at 58 miles per hour. 95, white marsh, no problems at route ro43, an easy ride in to the city. as we pull up drive times, no problems on the jfx. 11 minutes to downtown east fayette. 695 clear on the outer loop towards 95. that will tick you eleven minutes. eleven minutes from 95 up to 83. breaking news come out of north baltimore, police are investigating a triple shooting. it happened near del reese park. linda so is live this morning from police headquarters with more on what happened. >> reporter: here is what we know so far, police say the shooting happened inside a house. one person is dead, two people taken to the hospital. police repond responded to 5508 at 1:30 when they got there

they found two men and one mom shot. one man was taken to shock trauma. investigators were on the scene collecting evidence. they have not released a motive or the identity. we don't know yet if one of the persons who was shot was the one who had the gun. we will stay on top of the story and bring you more information as we get it. bond that no parent wants to share, mothers brought toot by the first possible loss. >> many trying to find strength in one another. sherrie johnson has more on those gathers for dpreef and hope. >> this is a group of mothers of murdered sons and daughters, not a club anyone wants to be a pat of of but the members have each other to lean on. they honored those lost and welcome new parents that have joined the group and meet to support and tried to spread antiviolence, used the stories

of their own children hoping the message hits home enough to keep someone else's child from the same tragic state. the members of moms make it a priority to be there for other parents. they offer 24 hour telephone support knowing the pain of losing a child can hit at any time, day or not. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. dozens of families in randals town are thankful smoke detectors worked. a fire broke out in an apartment complex on glenn michael. when firefighters got there, fire was pouring out of the third floor and spread to the attic. no one was hurt. the damage was bad. 24 apartments destroyed. managers and the red cross are making sure everyone has a

place to stay. we hope to learn more about what started the fire in the first place. police found a car -- police believe sam approached the nail and hair care spa on richards valley and shot his former girlfriend, and another friend. both are in critical condition this morning, police are offering a $2500 reward for more information. fan had an an active protective order against the father of her two children. motorcycle rider is dead after a collision with a car. police say marcel smith was killed at i-83 after he rear ended a mazda and thrown landing in the grass on the opposite side of the guardrail. police are trying to figure out if alcohol or drugs played a factor. that found marijuana on smith's body. a story we brought you on

abc2news.com, we spoke with dispatcher whose say they will be back out looking for a person who fell off of a boat in to the brush river. two people fell out. witnesses saved one person. one person was rescued but the dispatchers say crews will be looking for the missing person at 8:00 this morning. this week governor martin o'malley plans to meet with lawmakers about plans to expand gambling within the state and hope to reach an agreement and a proposal to build a casino in prince georges county. o'malley plans to meet with lawmakers. they are facing an august 20th deadline if they want to get the proposal on the ballot in november. some drivers in las vegas found cars in a mess. >> stay with us, how police helped to make it through a cascading pool of water that caught many by surprise.

cleaning crews came out in las vegas over the weekend. this is following strong storms that dumped rain on parts of the city, three to four inches fell in a matter of hours, police had to help 10 people to found the people stuck. two people died in texas when lightning struck a tree surrounded by spectators at a

miserable, soupy. a cold front will slice through the area and back to normal in time for the weekend. this one little cell i'm watching in north western pennsylvania could drop down as we go through the remaining of the morning house. the cells, slow movers, through the next several days, we get the isolated showers and scattered showerses we will have to watch for flash flaying and the possibility for -- flooding and possibility for strong storms wednesday. moisture levels, they are up there, we are feeling it. the dew points in the 70s. we will feel on the oppressive side through the remainder of today and tomorrow it's going to be hotter outside. now temperature 75 degrees baltimore, dc 77. 72 hangerstown. starting the 70s. the temperatures will be in the 90s through time. the weather pattern picking up
