this tuesday morning. thanks for joining us -- joining us i am megan pringle. >> i am charley crowson. linda so is live with more on the water main break. people know it will affect the commute. >> we will get to lauren cook who has the all earntive routes and what the situation is there -- alternative routes and what the situation is there right now. >> reporter: it shuts down many roads in downtown baltimore. drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible. but if you can't, do watch out because it's causing major traffic concerns. light street is shut down at redwood and you want to use mass transit martin luther king junior boulevard or franklin streets as alternate rods. this is the south side of -- routes. this is the south side of 95. no problems heading towards dc or the tunnels. using the beltway, this is live in parkville at harford road. 11 minutes from the outer loop from 95 all the way up to 83. now back to the big story, that water main break linda so is live in the inner harbor this morning with an update on when the repairs will be finishp

good morning linda. >> reporter: good morning. -- finished. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. we are at the corner of light and redwood. they have the whole blocked off. that is lombard street down there. they have the road blocked off so you can only turn on light street. you can see the big hole is still in the road at redwood and crews have been here all night pumping water out of that hole so they can get down to the main. we are told the main is really deep and they will have a hard time getting down there to see what actually caused the main to break. one thing we do know is traffic in this area even today is going to be a mess. it could take up to days for them to make repairs. so transportation officials are asking you to avoid this area if you can. now this is a 20 inch water main that made a mess of the evening commute last night. water was running for hours until the main could be shut off. than you could actually see -- then you could see pieces of the road buckled from pressure below. repairs are expected to take several days and could be be complicated because of

underground utility lines. it made a mess of that evening commute. people were stuck in traffic for hours. >> the traffic is crazy. it took 20 minutes to get two blocks. i don't know what's going on. they need to let somebody know. >> reporter: again contractors will be here all day trying to figure out what caused the main to break if it was from the hot weather or because the pipes are so old. again, word of wisdom, avoid the area if you can. we are at light and redwood. and the whole block is blocked off here. traffic is going to be a mess. so if you can avoid the area or take mass transit. live downtown, linda so, abc2 news. now, maryland's most powerful doppler radar and the forecast certified most accurate by weatherate. >> so we are still talking about the heat this morning. very warm with temperatures coming in at 74 degrees right now in northeast potomac at 73 rockville at 70 degrees.

than i heard everybody screaming and running past my house, so, first i thought it was fireworks and then i realized it was gunshots and people running by. three girls were screaming and running -- screaming and runningand a 14-year-old girl was shot in the arm. >> details are still developing right now. but what we know is a fight broke out between two groups at the party. they have at least one person of interest in custody right now. the two people killed were a teenage girl and a man in his 20s. that infant though who was injured in expected to be okay. another media briefing is coming up around 9 this morning. for the latest on this go to our website abc2 news.com and at you will see the shooting in toronto at the top. that will take you to our news brief from overnight. but at the bottom, we provided a link for you to the cbc news website in toronto with more detailed information including

photographs from the scene and more of what toe expect out of toronto. a media briefing at 9 tonight but interestingly, there's been an increase in the number of shootings in toronto by more than a third. and this time year over year is 33% more shootings in toronto so once again the sign of the violence a little closer to home this morning, you will want to avoid bow loana avenue near -- bolona avenue near towson. the homes near lagrange range. the nabs say the owner passed away and the kids are trying to sell the home. we don't know the cause of the fire but we will have more as the story develops. this man was in the right place at the right time. take a look at the terrifying video. a 7-year-old girl from brooklyn crawled onto an ac unit and then spell 3 stories. the housing authority worker actually managed to catch her. she was taken to the hospital for observation but we are told she is doing just fine this morning.

police say that the guy that was driving this stolen car hit huge speed and they say that with the 2-year-old girl in the back seat, this is when it happened. this video is now from thedashboard camera of a police cruiser. officers say four people were inside the stolen car including the child. the chase lasted about 12 minutes before that car slammed into the side of a bus. the officer got the toddler out of the car safely and the driver right now is in jail this morning. >> you have to wonder who could do such a thing like that niecessing. >> do you get your airline miles -- amaze -- >> amazing. >> do you get your airlines miles.
