to acting as a contractor without lap license and selling home improvements without a license. prosecutors say he scammed nine people in aa county charging some tens of thousands for paving he wasn't allowed to do. he then took off south. he scammed people for as much has $170,000. clack was arrested and brought back to maryland. >> i'm happy with that because there couldn't be any more, and it's been a long time coming. i'm glad that he's off the street and we will see what happens in the future as far as any restitution, but i have a little faith in that. as the judge said, he's a path logical liar. >> clack apologized. his attorney admitted he did

dry up before their eyes. 60% of the country is currently in a drought and farmers are struggling to salvage what they can. >> it's in deep trouble because of the drought. they don't have any place for their cattle. they are looking at very high feed costs. so we're opening up areas under the conservation reserve program for emergency haying and grazing. >> reporter: according to officials with the franklin county illinois farm bureau, it is much worse than expected. >> what you see from a windshield in a car is not what's out there as we flew over it. >> reporter: one man managed to keep his lawn looking lush and green despite a watering ban. after thinking it over for two weeks he coated his yard with yard paint which will last three to six months. here in new york it was forecast

northern queen anne's county. annapolis and arnold about to get hammered. take a look. 800, 900 bolts. that is a lot of cloud to ground lightning. we're also talking about flash flooding concerns and issues as you try to make your way toward the bay bridge. rainfall rates have been ranging between two to four inches per hour. abc2's storm track. this will be pushing to the east. it's arnold, annapolis, high and beach. some of these areas, all around anne arundel, kent, queen anne's, get ready because this is a dangerous storm producing dangerous cloud to ground lightning lightning we'll show you bel air, those storm clouds rolling in. a storm toward the north. that will be pushing through parts of harford and carroll county. a high of 101.

look at the temperatures over the eastern shore. dover is at 98. 99 degrees in salisbury. it's feeling like 105 in dover. feels like 87 and a rain cooled 79. we're starting to see a relief. let me correct myself. 102 the official high. 90 elsewhere. patch river checked in at 100 degrees. notice that line of showers and gusty showers pushing through the bay. keep in mind any interest on the bay, give it a couple hours as the line pushes through. there's more showers starting to come. that's toward the south and east. we'll see if that starts to trigger showers and storms. still baking, 103, 102, so again, missouri is still dealing with the heat. this will fall to the south. we'll see some relief as we go into the weekend.

child victims. jamie costello, abc2 news. >> thanks a lot. tonight we're learning more about the man who police believe shot 17 people inside a bar in alabama. he had been fired from his job after a fight with a coworker earlier in the year. police had charged 44-year-old will kins with 18 counts of attempted murder which includes a charge related to a shooting at a house just about 45 minutes before the shooting at the bar happened. coming up in health news, egg allergies in kids. the new treatment that could bring relief to every one struggling with them. >> and the food that you eat at the farmer's market. we rolled up our sleeves to test the food at the baltimore farmers market, when we come back.

treatment. once the treatment is stopped they're able to tolerate them. >> after 22 months of treatment, 75% of children in the study were desense teased and unable to eat eggs. you know, if you're struggling to lose weight, there's a new diet drug on the market. for the second time since june the fda approved it. patients in clinical trials lost 23 pounds on average. some consumer advocates are concerned about the drug's side effects including possible birth defects in pregnant women. because of the risk, the drug is only recommended for obese patients with weight-related heart ish use like diabetes. one in 10 deaths worldwide can be blamed on illnesses from a lack of exercise. that's about the same number of deaths from smoking. new research shows by not exercising you're more likely to
