forecast for the workweek withmeteorologist mike masco. >> outside we go it's a pretty nice looking shot. 71 close to that dew point value. patchy fog on the roadways. we are watching the potential maybe a few drizzle pockets. 71 in town. 76 in d.c. eastern shore temperatures near 70 degrees. patches of drizzle this morning. nothing widespread but a lot of moisture in play today with that humidity and southerly wind. and there's a cold front out to the west that could fire off a scattered shower and thunderstorm during the course of the day. let's plan out the afternoon. 8:00 in the morning we are starting out with temperatures right around 74. on the way to 91. that's the two degree guarantee the late day shower and thunderstorm. some of which could be strong. we will talk about that coming up in just a little bit. let's check traffic with baltimore city we are expecting continued delays this morning as light street is closed

between east baltimore and lombard street. that's due to last week's water main break. also keeping an eye on long- term construction continuing on 895 northbound between route 2 and frank ford avenue because of bridge repairs and towards parts of 695 between route 1 and 59 minor construction. 695 live shot, pretty good looking commute. the drive times this morning again starting out pretty early. nice commute 23r 9 -- commute from 95 to 83 a 12-minute drive. another check on traffic and weather in a little bit. breaking news at least 11 people are dead fog a -- following a crash in south texas. that happened in the town of goal add 100 -- goal goe lee add in -- goliad. all victims were in the same pickup truck. police are not saying how bad conditions are this morning. it's 4:32. we are getting new information out of aurora colorado. that shooting that killed 12

and injured 58. james holmes sits in solitary confinement and the president arrived in colorado sunday offering support and condolences to those who lost their lives. sherrie johnson is here this morning and many of us couldn't take our eyes off the newsreports as they kept unfolding this past weekend. >> reporter: that's right. we learned this morning 24-year- old james holmes, theaccused shooter will appear in court. university of colorado officials are look into whether he used his position to collect hazardous materials. officials are not saying whether they knew the suspect in a mass theater shooting was anything more than a hard work student. holmes has not been cooperating with police and they say it could take months to learn the exact motive for his alleged attack. early friday on a packed theater of people watching the latest batman movie. the attack killed 12 and wounded 58 others. prz obama -- president obama flew to colorado to comfort

family members e says he was there as a father and husband. >> i hope that he is here for all of these people, and i tank my looky -- lucky blessings the president is behind us. >> reporter: holmes is is at a denver area county detention facility and assigned a public defending. he is scheduled for a hearing today at 11:30 a.m. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. the first video of the accused gunman hit the airwaves sunday. it was shot six years ago showing him 18 at the time during a science conference in san diego. he is talking about what's known as temporal illusions behind changing the paths. being see he looks nervous but appears to be a smart teen. the speaker who was introduction him for the conversation described him as "our next speaker is james holmes. his goals are to become a researcher and make sigh typhic discoveries." now in personal life he enjoys playing soccer and his dreams

the statute honoring joe paterno was taken down along with the educator, coach and humanitarian. the sanctions is following a report by a former f become i director that found the coach -- fbi director that found the coach and other officials that hid sexual abuse for number of years. removing the statue was the correct decision. >> i think that it's a symbol to help victims so any victims whether it was sandusky's or other victims people who trusted them and left kid with authority would walk by and see the symbol on a regular base nice in a statement the paterno family says it doesn't help the victims. penn state will be banned from bowl games for more than one year and will lose a number of scholarships. however, they are not going to receive what is known as the death penalty. the nca anounsment is expected around 9 our time. we will bring you that punishment when it is handed

news time 4:44 five things to in on this monday. suspected gunman in the colorado theater massacre will appear in court. james holmes seen here at age of 18 is believed to have opened fire on the movie theater he during a midnight showing of friday the dark knight rises. 12 people died 58 injured. more than 20,000 dollars and 200 countries gathered in washington for the world aids conference. the conference fan yesterday and runs through july 2nd -- august 2nd rather. the conference takes place at the walter e washington convention center. and today a 17-year-old will learn his punishment for a near fatal fire attack the it will be in broward county where matthew bent was found guilty of aggravated battery in a attack on michael brewer. he face up to 15 years in prison. and jury selection begins today in the murder trial for former

visits and therapy and that's why her parents are going to dc to ask law makers to preserve funding for pediatric care. >> her first 13 months of life she was in the hospital. she has an array of different health issues. and they range from cystic fie bros ies to lung disease. >> reporter: and they will be joined by 30 other families today in dc for an event that starts today through thursday called family advocacy day. the mess heage they are hoping to get -- message they are hoping to get across is they will save the programs so pediatric care is not jeopardized. and save lives because many young lives depend on it like simone. live in washington, linda so, abc2 news. viral videos can be pun to -- fun to watch but can educational. video sharing websites are used for informational purpose which

they are upset police used lethal force. one witness captured video of the shooting on cell phone and says an aves. anaheim officer wanted to pay for the toot -- says an anaheim officer wanted to pay for the footage. >> they wanted -- they asked me daughter how much money she wants for the video and i told my daughter don't talk to them. >> the orange county register reports police spokesman says he was not sure if the allegations were true and that the department will look into it. anaheim residents are upset at officers and they stayed on the street in hours after they were throwing bottles and rocks. a huge jet is back where it belongs. the c-17 made a surprise landing at the wrong airport. people couldn't believe what they saw touching down on the island airport. the air fos base is where it was supposed to be headed but it came to a hauled on davis

more showers and storms developing during the course of the day today. we have all the humidity coming up out of the south. we have a cold front out towards the west that's going to interact with the low level moisture and what does that mean? well it's going to mean a stab at -- scattered showers and thunderstorm during the course of the day. in terms of temperatures, 91 degrees. humid sunshine today. certainly compared to yesterday of 180. going down to right around 73 tonight and early storm muggy and warm. 7pp day forecast looks like -- the seven-day forecast looks like this humidity today and tomorrow. 95 degrees for your tuesday afternoon. wednesday is going to be a beautiful day low humidity and temperatures into the upper 80s and then again we will talking about more humidity thursday into friday. temperatures between 90 to 91 degrees. and there could be more storms. let's check your abc2 timesaver traffic and again, continuing to watch long-term construction 895 northbound between route 2
