in downtown baltimore continues. light street shut down at baltimore street a live look at 95 into the city, no delays here at 395. but it will be a nice easy ride and fort mchenry tunnel everything up to speed. the west side at wilkins avenue, actually baltimore national pike you are looking at an 11-minute ride on the outer loop from 795 to 95. megan and charley over to you. there are a lot of questionswhy an officer shot and killed a man in north baltimore. >> a 911 call reporting a fight drew baltimore police officer to well-done place north a police spokes weldon place northch the first officer struggle with the man and called out a signal 13. a responding officer found the two on the ground. >> they found a knife in the vicinity of the struggle. we have to put together the pieces to determine what happened. >> the responding officer fired one shot killing the suspect. nabs say the couple moved in a month ago and she is pregnant.

she was not injured. the names of the suspect and the police officer had not been released. the officer was not hurt. a 12-year-old boy is without his family after a murder-suicide in calvert county. police found a 2-year-old girl and her he parents dead in owings. officers went to the house for reports of a domestic situation. they say the father frank hayward barricaded the family inside and two hours later, they heard gunshots. it's believed he shot his wife and daughter and turn the gun on himself. the 12-year-old was the lone survivor being treated for neck and burn injuries. a morning job turns into a crime scene in finksburg where a woman found a body between patapsco road and a pasture yesterday morning. he is identified as justin ogel. his body doesn't have signs of trauma and the medical examiner is looking into how he died. united airlines flight headed to switzerland was diverted to boston after a

suspicious item was found in a unclaimed seat. it left new jersey and landed safely in boston and was checked out by law enforcement. the item was a camera which will be x-rayed and inspected. 4:34. if you are birth control pillssay bye to shelling out money for copays. as of today, millions of women will have access to free contraception as part of the affordable care act requiring insurance companies to provide contraceptive at no cost. it's one of the benefits insurance companies are required to provide for free. >> it will be illegal finally in america to charge women more than men just because they are women. in other words being a woman will no longer be a preexisting condition in this country. >> congress passed the affordable health care act over two years ago but it's implemented in stages.

now requiring insurance providers even private ones to cover free contraception for women is not sitting well with some groups. catholic parishioners from western maryland are making a 100 mile trek to baltimore to protest the policy. they say the mandate violates their religious beliefs. catholic doctrine doesn't condone the use of artificialcontraception. they left on sunday and are expected to arrive in baltimore at the basilica this sunday august 5th. time is run out for the postal service that is set to default on billions of dollars in payments for the first time in its history. the postal service owes 5.5 billion dollars for future retiree health benefits and owes another 5.5 billion in september which is likely to be the most it won't pay and it's not going to be able to pie either. the missed -- pay either. the missed deadlines continues to question the celibacy of the

around baltimore just like yesterday getting some thunderstorms this afternoon. but for right now, temperature in darlington coming in at 69 degrees. more of the same in elkton. easton at 72. the winds are nice and calm and the humidity up is there again. darlington 90s in elk it and -- elkton and easton. dew points later but also what we are contending with is temperatures are going to be on the normal side for the most part. but with those dew points with the moisture it's going feel warmer so. here's the neighborhood forecast. as we go into lunchtime, 84 in wood lawn and we have the chance for showers and thunderstorms. riviera beach more of the same with the temperatures around 8 3 as we slide down into annapolis, that temperature coming in at 82. 83 in deal and again scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible. and here's the check of the 7- day forecast as we will be humid. temperatures seasonable at 87.

but we will get hot as we head into tomorrow. 9 2, 94 as we go into friday and saturday with a chance of an isolated shower and thunderstorm in the forecast for you. let's check the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook what's going on. >> reporter: good morning. there are a few things in baltimore city you will need to watch out for. on the east side, repairs to the searching hole continues. so east monument street will be shut down between wolf street and patterson park avenue. traveling in the area definitely stick with orleans street. as we head downtown repairs to the water main break continues. light street is shut down between baltimore street and lombard street continuing for the next two or three weeks. use hopkins place instead. as we check in and look live at 83, you will notice everything up to speed in hunt valley at shawan road. an easy ride towards 695. in parkville at harford road, 11 minutes on outer loop from 95 up to 83.
