looking at a 13-minute ride from 795 down towards 95. if you are use the jfx to get into the city, there are no delays from the beltway all the way downtown. but we have a crash on the east side that you want to watch out for on north avenue at wolf street and we are still dealing with that big sink hole that has shut down east monument street that's between kilkes and patterson park avenue. it looks like you will have to wait longer for the traffic to return to normal on light street in downtown baltimore. >> repairs to what water main break from two weeks ago are going longer than speced. >> linda so -- expect -- longer than expected. >> linda so is here with what to expect. >> reporter: how much longer is the question. they are saying 2 to 3 more weeks. progress has been steady but they have work to do. so far, 3/4 of the 20 inch main has been replaced but they are doing more work where redwood meets light street.

to eat at chick-fil-a for what they call antigay sentiment. reporting live in parkville, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. he is a 12-year-old boy who lost his family after a murder suicide in calvert county. getting new reaction this morning on the story after police say that frank hayward barricaded himself inside his home yesterday morning in the town of owings. detectives say he shot and killed his wife and his 2-year- old daughter and killed himself. officers say they believe hayward set the house on fire and his 12-year-old son managed to escape within seconds of it being almost too late. >> to do this and take a 2-year- old's life and try to kill everybody is ridiculous. makes no sense. >> when kids are involved, it's crushing to me and i think to most of society. >> that 12-year-old is still in the hospital this morning for burns and neck injuries. presidential hopeful mitt romney finished up his foreign trip and how he did depends on

in washington. senator cardin is expected to take part. maryland secretary of natural resource also talk about projects underway and others coming down the pipe. severe droughts don't just have a impath on farmers but the food -- impact on the farmers but the food we eat. it can affect electricity. nuclear power plants need a lot of water to function. they draw it from lakes and rivers and release it back. the problem some are having is that they have to release hotter water than allowed because it's been so hot and so dry. others are reducing power because the water supply just isn't there. >> the question is, if power plants are getting the water they need, and there's not enough water in general, so who else is losing out? what does that mean for how much water farmers are getting? what does it mean for what kind of cuts we will be asking for from the cities and towns? >> despite the drought, the nuclear regulatory commission says plants are operating safely and have the water they need. also take a look at this this morning a cnn i reporter

captureed this on st. simon's island. he was walking when he saw couple admiring the water spout and snapped this before leek and it lasted about 10 minutes but still drove nearly everyone away from the beach. you never get comfortable seeing something like that. >> you don't. but, somebody snaps a picture isn't that right? >> exactly. someone is snapping away. but we are more comfortable when we see it over the water like that. we like to see the spout rather than over land or a tornado. we are not dealing with severe weather today. we are looking at wet weather on maryland's most powerful radar and the heaviest rain around queen ann's county and caroline county. goldsboro and greensboro and denton. centerville getting on lighter rain also churchill. this is good news we need the rein across the eastern shore this morning. and we can see heavier rain sliding over the delaware line to delaware. and that is good news across

the area. and then as we slide further into southern maryland once again, ocean city getting in on heavier rain just like they did yesterday. snow hill you are almost out of it and willard is getting in on wet weather as well. now as we go into the afternoon we could be seeing more changing in the forecast. details to come on that but look at laurel. laurel is one of the dry spots this morning. we see a few clouds and we see a few peeks of sunshine and that's the scenario as we go throughout the day. hopefully, we will get scattered showers and storms and it's going to be very humid once again with the dew points in the upper 60s. future trend pickling up on the scattered showers -- picking up on the scattered showers. hopefully numerous scattered showers and the trend continues through tomorrow. but for today, the hour by hour foreforecast comings in at 8 -- forecast comes in by 87 by 4 p.m. you can eat lunch outdoors but we have a chance for scattered storms in the forecast for us. 7-day forecast gets hotter going through time. temperatures coming in right around 90.

let's check the abc2 type saver traffic -- timesaver track with lauren cook. >> reporter: a disabled car along northbound lanes at caton avenue on 95 no problems on 695 where there's a crash on the the inner loop at 97. heading north up towards old court road, the beltway is conjested in this area. outer loop jammed down towards route 40 continuing over on the wealthway -- beltway on park heville -- parkville. we are still dealing with that water main break. repairs will be finished downtown within the next 2 to 3 weeks. but light street will be shut down between baltimore and lombard until then. >> it's going to be a headache for a while. >> reporter: yes. on facebook we are talking about the on going controversy with chick-fil-a. we have the support groups out today and those opposed to chick-fil-a stance on traditional versus same sex marriage. they will be out friday so on face back we want to know --facebook we want to know what you think. >> have a great day and we will
