of troy, new york. what you're seeing is a man getting dragged by a pickup truck. police say this victim has been identified as 45-year-old robert kualik was dragged nearly four miles by interest trug. >> did he survive? >> he did survive and he sustained nonlife-threatening injuries. but during this dragging he had the ability to call 911. >> while he was being dragged? >> i'm hanging onto the guy in a white truck, holy moly. >> are you attached to the truck? >> i want my pills! >> the dragging ended in the parking lot of a walmart. and police say once it stopped, the victim was able to grab his bag of stuff and waited until help arrived. apparently police say that there were multiple times where the victim could have stopped and gotten away. >> so this guy allowed himself to be dragged for four miles

because he was trying to get his hands on his pills? get another prescription. let go of the car and call your doctor and say you know what, i lost my pills, can you call some more in. >> they say witnesses said it didn't look like he was being dragged. it looks like he was holding on on purpose. about when police looked at surveillance video and did some investigation, they say at one point the man was dragged by the suspect. identified as seth scud. >> i can't believe he was able to get his phone out and make a phone call while he was being dragged. you could hear him screaming. >> you think they weren't going very fast? >> they were going up to 40 miles per hour. if i were you, i wouldn't want to be dragged at 40 miles per hour. the suspect in the case was arrested and charged with reckless driving and assault. intense weather because of tie fyphoon sala. a surveillance footage of a man walking out in the heavy rain as the typhoon came ashore. >> oh, my gosh.

>> a sinkhole? >> that is a sinkhole, and a sinkhole that swallowed up this man as he was walking along this roadway. >> oh, my gosh, he just disappeared. he was walking and then he was gone. >> it didn't look like there was any warning whatsoever. it looked like it happened in the blink of an eye. nothing shock, nothing changed, just poof. >> just a sheet of cement over nothing. >> that or flooding had washed away the foundation. >> when you said a typhoon, i was expecting a rush of water to wipe him away. that's not what i was expecting to see. >> well taiwan has been experiencing incredibly heavy rain, the worst they've seen in decades, dozens have been killed, including this man. if you take a look at this other video from euro news, you can see part of the rescue efforts to save this man. once he was swallowed up by the sinkhole. look at what the crew was up against. >> is that a reporter doing a stand-up and then right behind her, the ground falls again.

>> there are more sinkholes. >> oh, she took off. >> these rains have caused extreme flooding in certain areas, which of course have made roadways incredibly unstable. this has caused transportation delays, train travel, even airlines canceled. it's been a tough couple of days for the folks in taiwan. i for one personally hate to see a beer or beers be wasted. in this instance, it was for the better. this is surveillance video from a nisa convenience store in south essex, england. we see a girl walk in after the girl, we see a guy carrying a knife. >> oh, man. >> busts into the place, starts shouting open the till to the female worker behind the counter. the hero on this day was 29-year-old manager, ayman singh. his weapon of choice? 12-pack of beer. he starts chucking these 12-packs at this robber, until the guy just gets the heck out of there.

>> he didn't run away after the first one? he threw multiple 12-packs. >> you see the stack here. it looks like he throws one -- two, goes back, gets a third. throws it at this guy. picks up a fourth. throw as fourth and the guy gets the heck out of there. >> it took four cases of beer for that guy to finally get a clue. >> nobody was injured, no damage to the store. if you're in this area, maybe go to the store, because now you know the beer cans will probably be on sale. there's a great picture of ayman singh from the website, this is total essex. you see ayman singh kind of sta standing there in front of the store looking very tough. and i think he proved it in this video. of course authorities are still trying to track down the intruder. you both have experienced ha b bobs. we now how quickly we can go

from a perfectly blue sky to dust storm. thanks to this photography. we get to see this in time lapse. this is late in july and he set up a camera and he recorded this change of this haboob. which by the way is arab for strong wind. >> what's interesting is that haboobs in the southwest actually get started in the middle east. and as the weather pattern that kind of moves all the way across the world and ends up in the desert. >> it's fun to say haboob. haboob. >> beautiful blue sky, beautiful white clouds and then, all of a sudden very quickly we see this large humungous brown cloud just traveling right on top of the desert floor. >> it makes me think of the line, hold the gathering storm. >> check out this other video, a different perspective. this one we actually see it from the side. >> whoa. >> look at that. >> yeah, man, that looks like a big, huge explosion went off.

>> right. >> and this is all the smoke and ash. >> these haboobs can be miles wide and they can travel 30 to 600 miles an hour. they can take over very quickly. a backpack, some spray paint and a high-def prank that's got the police on high alert. >> oh, man, they brought in the robots. >> find out ha happens when they let her blow. >> wow! . >> oh, n! and an early morning s y littl vit. >> and the fox is attacking them? >> yes. >> it could have rabies. >> find out what quick-thinking move led to their safety.

colored backpack being filled with cans of spray paint. now you see one guy, he takes the backpack and he just leaves it by a bus stop. >> that is like the wrong thing to do in israel. >> you're absolutely right, gayle. they have protocol they have to follow if there's an item like this left in a public area. and they follow their protocol. >> not too many minutes later you see police there, they're in their bomb squad gear and look what they bring in? >> oh, man, they brought in the robot. >> and they've got the perimeter clear, you can see they've blocked traffic. they have bystanders standing far enough away, hopefully a safe distance. >> what a waste of time, what a waste of resources, probably inconvenienced a ton of people. >> they're now focus on this when there could be something real happening behind the corner. >> you can hear the guy behind the camera laughing at what's going on. >> watch what happens.

>> wow. >> oh, man. >> so what this robot was designed to do is to cause the bag to explode in case there is something dangerous there. in this case, according to a loose translation from hebrew, they shot a bullet into the bag and the bag exploded all over the bus stop, all over the bystanders, it was a couple of teens playing a prank to try to creatively paint this bus stop. >> this is not funny at all. i don't think this is a cool prank, either. >> when i saw it i was appalled by this. that anybody would go to these measures to try to make some kind of colorful statement or paint a bus stop in style. when it comes to disneyland and california adventure i'm like a kid at christmas. i love this story. it's about something new at the world of color that you can see at california adventure.
