to 40% off of what our peek numbers were in march and april. >> reporter: when maryland live! opened up, hollywood business dropped off from $260 are machine per day to $150. it wants the state to take back 500 of the 1500 machines, ultimately placing them in other facilities. hill says this is not a foreboding sign of things to come. >> this is not a death penalty by any stretch of the imagination. this is us doing the fiscally responsible thing to make our property the right size. >> reporter: he readily admit there is may be more reasons behind the drop off in revenue over the last few months. as the casino is renovated to make way for a new upscale casual dining area, the standard buffet has been pushed outside

to a tent. the summer is also an especially slow season for slots but earliest mats that the casino would thrive here simply missed the mark. >> the figures were way off through some of the analysis that they had done back then. that's normal. you never really know what the markets will bear. >> reporter: in perry vicialtion jeff hager, abc2 news. >> hollywood said in absence of a bill it's hard to tell what this would mean to its bottom lean. casino cuts remain mystery to us. let's break it down. hollywood casino has about 1500 machines. giving back the 500 would knock it down to 1,000. here's what the current ones have ocean downs 800. maryland live! 3200 but will have 4700 by october. and the har rods plans for

baltimore and in allegany county they've both been approved but still in the planning stages. har rods should have more than 3700 slots. we're looking at 850 slots. the casinos have generate lad lot of money. lottery officials report the state has gotten more than $345 million from the gaming program so famplet while the casino in perryville may be making less since the opening of maryland live the lottery commission said the year to date revenue for 2012 came to more than $61 million but the real difference can be seen in the numbers from last month. hollywood casino pulled in more than $6.8 million but maryland live pulled in more than $35 million during the same month. where does the money go? are we see tsmght the biggest chunk goes to -- seeing it?

williams said he had to go to the bathroom. he ran out the courthouse and tried to escape in a gray car. >> the suspect tried to run the officer over. the officer fired his round. >> police say williams was hit in the right arm but still managed to lead police on a chase that ended on rosalynn avenue. he was take tonight hospital where he is expected to be okay. police say charges against williams is pending. roosevelt leftwich, abc2 news. >> carolyn conrad died in a fire. smoke detectors were working in her home. the fire was accidental but they still do not have a cause yet. who set the food line on fire in pasadena. those in the store on mountain road two friday nights have told everything they know to recount recount firefighters. an illegal device on a shelf ignited. the search is on for these two

there's a new study out that finds the sunshine vitamin could make a big difference for our children. researchers at boston children tested vitamin d levels in kids who were admitted to the pediatric intensive care uniony. 40% had a vitamin z deficiency. they became severely ill. and they found viet min d deficiency was less common in younger patients, and children taking supplements of vitamin d. beauty at what price? some women are now getting cosmetic surgery even shortening their toes to fit into their favorite jimmy choos. for other women it's not the length of the toes but the sweating. you can have botox injected in them to keep them dry. >> a lot of people have the

south, richmond, newport news. but most of maryland staying dry, just kind of cloudy through the day. the frontal boundary is barely south of us. some drier air trying to get in but the hair has been still relatively warm, upper 80s and low 90s. winds have shifted north. basically northwest into easton but a bit of a south breeze when you get down to the a tux tent river -- patuxent river. it has not pushed far enough to really knock the humidity south. so dew point is 71 in annapolis. so it feels like the low 90s in spots, including in the state capital. heavy weather or least the more active weather some heavy rain has been, again confined to our south. virginia beach down through the outer banks. carolinas through georgia very

active weather. again, that dry air is out there. this has marched through the midwest gotten into pittingburg but -- pittsburgh but has in the pushed into baltimore. a disturbance is keeping the weather active down toward atlanta, charlotte charleston. that's where the extreme humidity siments. although it's muggy we're not quite as steamy as parts of the southeast. the trend is showing more of the same tom. storms staying south frontal boundary stays south partly cloudy at times. it shifts back north on wednesday. we think pop-up showers and storms by wednesday but tomorrow does look dry. all right. let's check the tropical satellite. tropical storm ernesto a large system that encompasses the middle two thirds of the caribbean sea. we have honduras and belize south of mexico. that's where we think ernesto

will head next, landing between belize and coastal mexico south of cancun and crossing the bay of cam peach which i over into -- campeche. it will be 88, sun and clouds, muggy, a stray shower, the better chance will be wednesday evening. the 70s r--- seven-day forecast bearing that out. we're looking good. the weekend mid-80s, partly cloudy. >> not bad. keep it that way. don't touch a thing. we had 20,000 at m&t bank stadium and a sun drenched saturday. the ravens were off yesterday but back at work today. ravens leave for their atlanta wednesday and will play their first preseason game. kickoff is at 7:30.
