dying down in terms of the thunderstorms but all in all, we still are dealing with wet weather this morning. 78 degrees right now in pasadena. and 72 in rockville. let's check the amount bc2 timesaver traffic with -- abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. we have reduced visibility. >> reporter: and a crash in mount airy shut down route 26 at unionville road. a crash to watch out for. everything is up to speed traveling through the fort mchenry tunnel as well as harbor tunnel. we have all that construction that is blocking one northbound lane of 895. right there at the steel bridge but speeds clocking in at a high of 54 miles per hour. so overall, not too bad. here's a live look at the west side of the beltway at baltimore national pike and you are looking at an 11-minute ride on the outer loop from 795 towards 95. but traffic is starting to pick up in the area. no problems on the outer loop from 95 up towards 83. that stretch will take you 11 minutes and if you are using 95 no concerns traveling southbound from 695 all the way downtown you are looking at a

15-minute ride. megan and charley over to you. we have breaking news update. the bizarre situation that ended with a man shot dead by police. this started in baltimore city. however the shooting happened hours later in howard county. charley is at the live desk with the latest how it led them to the couldn't any. >> we don't know the victim's name that could be released later this morning. the whole thing started in baltimore city and wound up in columbia out in howard county where police tracked down the man. this is how things apparently got out of control when it ended with the fatal shooting at the hand of police and according to officers, it started in the city on midnight wednesday where they say the man reportedly went to his ex- girlfriend's house held her and her child at gunpoint and threatening the lives. she escaped early thursday morning but the man left with the two-year-old. officers tracked him to a home on constant course in columbia where the officer involved shooting happened but thankfully the 2-year-old was not at the home at the time and investigators found them later at a family member's home.
