be in great shape. you are looking at an 11-minute ride on the outer loop from 95 up to 83. the west side also going to be clear. just 11 mito travel that outer loop from 795 all the way downto 95. megan and charlie, over to you. >> we have new detail this morning after police say a virginia man walked into a family research council headquarters in washington, d.c. not far from the verizon center and opened fire. charlie is at the live desk this morning watching this story. you have new information about this. >> reporter: we now believe that the man who is responsible for this according to police for the family research council in d.c. has been identified as floyd corkins. it is bureau is investigating the shooting as possibly a hate crime. more domestic terrorism. it happened after investigate ors say corkins walked in and pulled out a gun and started shooting. the wounded guard was shot in the arm and expected to be okay. after the shooting, here is

what happened. the guard tackled corkins and held him down until other officers arrived. >> i would say the security guard is a hero. did he not allout armed person past the front. >> reporter: corkins has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon. he was doing volunteer work for the lgbt volunteer center in washington, d.c. the center's leaders there say of his a kind and gentle man. the president for the research center, the christian research center, says their only concern is for the health and security of the guard who took the shot. neighbors say it was horrific. they tried to do what they could to help. we are talking about an 11-year- old boy and a deputy attacked by a pit bull. sherrijohnson joins us live with more details on the attack. i imagine that neighbors are thankful this kid is okay but it will be tough to get that image out of their heads. >> reporter: yes, they are very grateful that the child will be

okay but pretty shaken up by the whole ordeal. a child attacked by a pit bull. it all happened last night in the 1400 blosk st. michael's court in end wood. pit bull bit the 11-year-old boy in the face. nain say the dog known as smoke and his pregnant mate are both bluenose pit bulls. got out of the fenced-in yard roaming edgewood communitju showers before thma was shot five time by a harford county sheriff's deputy after the dog chargeat him. neigors say the owner of the dog moved out of the house but the dogs were left behind in the backyard. >> i tried to show that i'm not going to hurt them. what happened was the dog bit me when i was going to reach down and pet the dog. >> reporter: now, animal control was called to the area but it is unclear right now who kept the female, the pet's

morning, tony with the little italy lodge. tell us about the festival and what role you guys play here? >> the festival has gun going on for a number of years -- has been going on for a number of years. it is between st. louis church, the st. gabriel. and the little italy lodge. it is an opportunity for those three groups to work together. we need to work together. >> there is so much food. we talk about the food all the time. tell us about the special could bees there. they are homemade. they have quite some history. >> they are all hand made, homemade here by members of the community. we have a group of very fine ladies, individuals who get together over at the church hall and bake for hours on end to produce what you see here.

another specialty there. it has been approved to start performing facial transplants which is considered one of the most complicated surgeries and requires certainly special i wanted to perform them. so reps from the hospital say they are really excited about being able to do the facial transplants and right now, they are scouting for surgeons and doctors, all sorts of specialists for their team. they are not first hospital in the state to you may remember back in march, doctors at the university of maryland medical center, they completed the country's second complete face transplant. today, lenny robinson is coming back to baltimore visiting children at sinai hospital. you may remember he is the guy who got pulled over driving his batmobile on route 29 in silver spring. he has been making stops at children's hospitals across the country for the past month and is returning home today showing off his new batmobile. some places did cancel some of the visit following the shooting last month in colorado. sinai hospital was not one of them. they will be welcoming in the
