examiner's office. we hope that will show what happened at the inner harbor this morning. it happened again and again. two more incidents of the elderly targeted through a tax scam. pontiac avenue in brooklyn, we talked to a victim who didn't want to be on camera. her story matches the other cases. female voice claims to work for the city tax collections office. she demands a tax payment for face eviction. working with previous victims police pulled out this sketch of a suspect who showed up at the door. >> he helped me out. she is the sweetest lady. for someone to target her like that, shoot! >> police say the man has threatened or attacks people in their homes when they didn't pay up. another case happened on popular grove in northwest grove on saturday. if you have any information call police. city police tell us a burglary suspect scuffed up one

of their own so they shot and quilled quilled the -- killed the man. officers were called out saturday afternoon. they found the door to a vacant home opened. ordered suspect to stop. he attacked. they returned fire. >> suspect engaged officers with a knife or a bottle. officer suffered a laceration to his face. after that moment another officer discharged his service weapon in defense of first officer. >> suspect was shot multiple times in the upper body. he was pronounced dead. office every has nonlife- threatening injuries. a man called for a cab friday afternoon. the cab drove to man 20 minutes. the passenger then tried to rob the cab driver. hit him in the head and poured liquid on him and set the cab on fire. cabby managed to escape. passenger didn't. firefighters found him in the backseat. police call this quote bizarre. don't know if that calls for a paid holiday tomorrow and fireworks but close.

one street just reopened. street buckled in july over a watermain break. it is all new pipes, new road, new surfacing. all you have to do is spend the night cruising up and down lake street back to work tomorrow. you can see showers across the region. going towards aberdeen. seeing showers out there. sliding it south. essex you'll see a few spotty showers. westminster seeing showers now.

17-7. first maryland team to reach the world series since it started ten years ago. olympics are over in london. games are still going on here in our state. senior olympics are in full swing across the area. this week it was about volleyball. women played yesterday. men battled it out this afternoon. women move on to the next competition coming up in cleveland. to qualify for the senior olympics you must be 50 years old. there is still time to apply for events. there had better be 90,000 plus fans friday night when the orioles come home. down 5-0 to detroit. orioles came back and won 7-5. of three. naged to win two out big win in the motor city. it is off to texas for three before coming home. we have waited 15 years for a summer and fall like this. it is getting fun. remember how you pounded

six months ago whitney houston died. her movie opened in theaters. it came in number four at the box office. houston's death forced movie producers on how to handle the star's real life death. it is a problem we seen recently from hollywood. we look at how they approach these situations.

>> reporter: it is likely hollywood will one day make a movie about the life of whitney houston. but, what about the movie the star had just finished shooting when she died? >> i know y'all don't love each other that much. >> it is the first question of are we going to change anything. >> reporter: houston's sudden passing left studio execs and film makers scramble for answers about the film's release date and script. >> there are a couple of lines in the movie, in light of the events, you hear them and you are like oh my god i can't beliis saying that. >> was my life a cautionary tale for you. >> the world was asking were we going to speed up the release of the movie. >> reporter: arts professor jason squire and entertainment lawyer agreed it is part of an unfort problem. feature films requiring crisis management. >> you need to repackage them

and repurpose them in a way that is not going to continue to put off audiences. >> reporter: like earlier this year george zimmerman shot and killed trayvon martin. >> the watch that used to be the neighborhood watch was inappropriate after the headlines. >> reporter: in july when a gunman opened fire on a midnight screening of "the dark knight" rices. that audience was among the first to see a preview, of another film, showed mobsters shooting theater patrons. >> in this case they moved quickly. moving the trailer for gangster quad and shifting the release date. >> reporter: not only do studios want treact to an unexpected disaster. they have a bottom line to consider. >> spend mountains of money, obsce amounts of money so they have to take great care when the issue comes up.

>> reporter: heath ledger died while filming dr. parnassus. sometimes sensitive footage has to be removed like the world trade center scenes in spiderman following 9/11. or pulling a movie from an entire country, which happened with the tsunami thriller here after following the japanese disaster. real life catastrophe is something hollywood never expects. with more movies coming out every year studios should be prepared. >> keep everything in perspective. give it time. let it breathe. this too, shall pass. >> reporter: in the end no changes were made to the films content or release date. >> we just said no. >> she would not have wanted us to. she loved this movie. >> reporter: a movie with its own set of challenges that martin hopes wows audiences this weekend.

hour. when you are watching us again at 11:00 we'll be around 68 degrees. you could wake up to a spotty shower and a mixture of sun and clouds tomorrow. we have a low parked south. a cold front to the north. it is squeezing in the moisture and bringing it towards the north. eventually we'll see it much more improved weather forecast. we have to get this cold front to come through the area. that happens by tomorrow night. clouds, showers for tomorrow. then as we move into tuesday, high pressure builds in. that will allow for a much nicer fuel to the area. 69 to 71 tomorrow morning. through the day tomorrow spotty showers. daytime high upper 70s. it is about location. could be cooler spots north and west of town. by tuesday really nice looking forecast in the 80s. possibility of a spot shower. tropics heat up. this is not a named system. it is starting to show some

welcome to maryland spotlight. i'm kim knight. we often think of the olympics as an international event. we have a maryland senior olympic. i have olympians joining me today. percy mack and elizabeth hogan. thank you very much for being here. >> thank you. >> percy, you are a bowler. >> yes, i am. >> how long have you been involved with the maryland senior olympics? >> since 1986. >> so you have been bowling 50 years. >> 50 years now. >> tell me what you have won. >> i have won the first senior olympics in st. louis in 1987. i came in second place in syracuse, new york in 1991 with a gentlemen from florida in the doubles. then i had the opportunity to win in san jose, california in

2009. >> must be exciting to compete in other cities. >> yes, it is. but maryland is the best. it is coming and we are mid august through september 30th. if anybody wants to get involved with the maryland senior olympics go to maryland senior olympics.org. elizabeth, let's hear your story. you are a swimmer. >> i started swimming after an auto accident in 2005. it is the best therapy. it brought me back. i used to compete when i was young. i got the bug to go again. people on my team were involved in the maryland senior olympics. i started right away. enjoyed it tremendously. i have been going every two years to nationals. i have done well. i'm happy. >> i see all your medals there. if you are missing one don't come looking for me later.

let's talk about how point it is for seniors to get involved. you don't have to be an athlete if you want to get involved with the maryland senior olympics. it is important to note that. getting out there and getting active. you can start anywhere. there are so many events. tell me how it benefited you health-wise? >> i always tried to stay in shape to compete at this level. what i like about the senior olympics in maryland is every year at the national level it comes in every other odd year. >> tell me about joining. you can joins a an individual or you are encouraging teams to join. >> oh yes. that's great. if you are not a person into individual sports you can get a group of your friends together and be a team in soccer. we have friends that do 80-plus soccer team. it is fantastic.

it is a competition against yourself but with inspiration with the other seniors. everybody from every level coming out doing it. it inspires you. especially me just coming in the senior category a few years back to say we can do that. nothing will stop me. the competition offers you a way to compete against yourself and see people all the time. people you have not seen a while you see them at the olympics. >> it is age 50 on up. it is in sections of five years. it is an advantage to age. >> when you are young you didn't want to do it. then you are the youngest in the age group. when you are older you are usually the fastest. >> we don't want anybody to feel intimidated if you are not comfortable with the level you are in competing wise.
