. delegate don dwyer said he was drinking on his boat yesterday before it hit another boat. just before the newscast he spoke outside of the hospital where he was taken after the crash that also sent several children to the hospital. he said its been reported that his blood alcohol level was 2.0. we are still waiting for official confirmation from the tox report. nine people in all involved in the crash. he and a male friend, others on the other boat and two children behind it in a tube. a man is posing as a bge workers, knocked on the door of a home. the suspect asked to see the man's meter. when the homeowner let him inside he pulled out a gun. the victim was struck in the head during the struggle and the imposter ran away. police are looking for the

suspect. if you get an unscheduled visit call the company to confirm the worker and the employee identity. csx has resumed train operations in ellicott after the deadly train derailment that killed two early this week. operations resumed at 4:00. though trains are back up the clean up continues and the company is still working to reopen roads. it's apologizing to residents and merchants. tonight we know the name of the man who died after being shot by police on the eastern shore. michael shoulder bug lived in baltimore. he was serving a three year sentence at the eastern correctional, facility. he walked away yesterday. he then broke in it a home and stole a gun. when police tried to stop him he initially fired ran away. after police surrounded him he wouldn't give up and reached

. two people were killed and six injured when the driver of a car hit a fire hydrant and a power pole. take a look at the pictures los angeles from last night. you can see that broken water main shooting water into the air. the two who died were actually passers by. they were rushed to the hospital. they were trying to help the people in the car but were shocked by the damaged power line. the cause is being investigated. and take a look at this video. flames shooting up in to the sky. this happened on a louisiana interstate in the middle of the night, sending fire and smoke into the air over baton rouge. the source of the flames was a tanker damaged in a multivehicle accident. firefighters set up a controlled burn to get rid of the leaking gas from the tanker. nearby homes were temporarily

evacuated. a woman in boston fell off a subway platform. she was carrying a child. the mother was running for a train on the opposite side of the station when she slipped on to the tracks with her baby in her arms. a bystander hopped off the platform and helped her to safety. the woman and her 4-year-old had no visible injuries. they were taken to the hospital as a precaution. circumstance desola. we are getting a look at the show as it gets set to kickoff. is your child going to college and not sure what they want to study? what college majors come with the biggest paycheck

that's held temperatures down just a little bit today. that breeze off the bay and the ocean just enough of a mitigating effect to keep us from warming up above 90 degrees this afternoon. satellite radar picture showing active weather off shore. not the best day for off shore fishing and we think the weather gets more active in to the weekend. here is the set up. you can see quite a bit of rain down off of the coast of south carolina, north carolina, this area expected to continue to develop and it -- we will be in a battlegroundl alweekend with high pressure just west of us providing dry weather and a coastal system just south of us bringing in wet weather from the east. there is the high pressure cell, keep us as dry through tomorrow and then as we go forward you can see this low pressure that develops and just close enough off shore that some of the showers could spin in to the eastern shore in particular and a few could cross the chesapeake but it's a battleground just west of baltimore and off shore we will

have that low pressure area and will have to see which winning out for the weekend. better chance, hit and miss showers over the weekend toward the beaches. in the sea, heavy rain, right now all indications that as ace kern county makes its way out of the sea where it's shown disorganization, now showing more intense and concentrated convection south of haiti and toward cuba. the storm will probably not make hurricane strength as it goes over cuba. by the time it gets to florida and west florida early next week more of a rain maker but we think category 1 hurricane status. a category one would still be a low threshold and a lot of them may clear florida by the start of the convention. political junkies are okay i think. joyce the new system.

it was a new system, now a named storm but only a late to bermuda. late fog. tomorrow 87, sun and clouds, maybe a late shower to the east. we are talking far east. weekend we will keep the chance for showers, especially from the chesapeake bay east and as a result of the additional cloud cover maybe only in the low 80's saturday and sunday. plus the east breeze tends to work against us getting to warm as well. overall not a bad weekend. not a rain out. i wouldn't cancel plans. we will keep the chance for showers in there, particularly on saturday and then into early next week hot and sunny. maybe storms toward middle of next week. >> we will look forward to it. thank you. >> and now to the campaign, tropical storm isaac forcing organizers for the republican convention to rush for other plans as the storm makes its way toward florida.

emily from washington. what is the latest? >> reporter: this is really about timing now. we see we are four day away from the first night of the convention. it is also about the time that forecasters say the storm may also blow past florida. what we know right now is that a spokesperson has said the show will go on despite the storm. >> we do have plans, to deal with weather related and other circumstances that may happen to ensure that the business can go on at the rnc. there is no such thing at canceling. we have plans. >> no details about what those plans may be. rnc officials say their priority is the safety of people in tampa and of the 50,000 guests expected to be there but if we see isaac continues on this projected path it may result in last minute rushing by the rnc. >> probably just going to be

. if you headed off to college but don't know what you want to study listen up. a new study lists the major that lead to the highest paycheck. we have the results. >> reporter: with tuition prices going up and student debt at all time highs many are looking for careers with a big paycheck right after graduation. the college majors handbook, a published study said it help itself you have a nose for numbers. math and science had the

highest average salaries for people out of school. premed graduates topped with pay of 100,000. that's verses 54,000 for all major was a full time job in 2010. engineering, pharmacy and computer science also pulled in paychecks that were significantly higher. what if you aren't a math and science student? salary isn't the only payoff. history majors who make well less than the medium number report having higher job satisfaction than most other graduates. the same is true for many lib era l arts degrees like english and regardless of concentration the average employee with a ba earned 80% more than high school diplomas. >> one thing that isaac will hopefully not do is push up prices on school supplies. we are working for you.
