impersonator. appears they are targeting the old are adults. >> reporter: this is on the heels of the baltimore city police department making arrest and property tax and robbery scam that targeted the elderly. now another dangerous situation police want folks to be aware of. this happened on wednesday morning. a man posing as bge worker made his way inside the home of a 6 to-year-old -- 62-year-old man in the 2000 block of east baltimore street in upper fells point. the man said the attacker knocked on the door and he was dressed in a white t-shirt and tan pants and a yellow neon bge vest. now after talking his way inside, the attacker pulled out a small revolver and they began to fight. he hit the elderly man in the head several time with the gun and ran off. bge says they rarely send anyone to the home-announced. >> -- unannounced. >> for the most part bge won't come unless schedule unless it's gas or electric emergency or to read meters or check bge

equipment. >> reporter: no arrest has been made. if you unsure give bge a call. each employee and contractor carries a badge with an i.d. number. bge will be able to verify that over the phone. charley. >> so we heard from bge talking about giving customers prior notice. what are police saying about this incident. >> reporter: police want to warn folks about this. authorities believe this incident is connected with prior elderly scams officers say when someone comes to your door, call and check it out first. >> thanks much. >> also this morning, prince george's county family is grieving the loss of a 17-year- old honor student. the story heart breaking. they are saying police are that amber stanley had her headphones on and was in her bedroom what gunman kicked open the door to the home and came upstairs and shot and killed her. police are not sure if she was targeted or if there was a person there looking for someone else. stanley went to flowers high school and had dreams of one day attending harvard.

several kids were among the injured and ranged from 5 to 12 years old. abc2 news sherrie johnson is here with more on the story and dwyer was brought out of the hospital to issue a statement and surprised a number of people with what he said. >> reporter: he wanted to come out even though he was hurt and apologize for his actions. his blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit at the time of the accident. he was injured in the crash along with two other adults and four children. delegate dwyer was wheeled out of shock trauma with a neck brace and cast. the legal limit for boaters and drivers in maryland is .08. witness the tell abc2 news delegates dwyer turned the boat into the path of a second boat around 7 wednesday night on the magothy river. his boat was cut in two pieces and sank and two adults and five children on this boat when they were hit. neighbors went into action including randy who was operating the boat hit by delegate dwyer's. >> a lot of screaming and when i came around the corner,

hauled a lot of that away. we now know the cause of death for the two college girls killed in the derailment. the medical examiner's office says eliz net nass and rose mayr died of as fix aches and couldn't breath when the coal crushed their bodies. they are trying to determine what caused the derailment and it could take weeks to get to the bottom it. county executive says he will work with csx to find a better way to secure the area to keep people off the tracks. today, family and friends will gather to say bye to the two victims. funeral services will be held for elizabeth nass at the church of the resurrection at 11 this morning. viewings will be held today for vows mayr from 3 to 5 p.m. and -- rose mayr from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 tonight. the funeral is tomorrow at 11 at bethany united methodist church in ellicott city. again, crews working all night to try to clear the mess but it could take days for things to

per hour. price tag for andrew was 126 billion the third most expensive costliest hurricane in u.s. history. lynette. >> you are right. we are watching the tropics because we have tropical storm isaac churning out there brewing, and this is the track of it. so the winds sustained at about 45 miles an hour. and it's moving to the west at about 13. and it will begin to slide over cuba bringing plenty of rain flooding across the area and also some windy conditions. and also, look at the cone of uncertainty now. we can see it extends into the gulf of mexico but tampa is in on that. even if it doesn't get a direct hit still lots of flooding and rain concerns and look at how it strengthens to a category one hurricane as we go through next week. so this is what we will keep our ice ongoing through time. now let's -- eyes on as we go through time. we are going at rehobeth beech. we have people out there that -- beach. we have people that will have plans and today okay for the most part but going through

695 rather at old court road, the accident landmarks are 795 and exit 18. traffic beginning to move once again. it was stopped ten minutes ago as they were clearing up the two car accident that had the right -- or the far two right lanes closed and as a result we told you a moment ago they had everything stopped while they cleaned up the accident scene but traffic beginning to pick back up once again. the winding down of summer signals the beginning of the maryland state fair. it officially begins today but last night eager fair goers got a ride an early preview for 16 bucks. gates opened this morning at 8 and that's in about an hour. this year's headlining acts including the band perry and christian rock band the newsboys. the fair runs from now through september 3rd. so you have the fair and you have cirque du soleil and the o's in town and antique show at the convention center. >> lots going on. >> plenty to do. >> exactly. >> we are out of time. news coming up in 25 and 55 and that's the newsroom. it's friday.
