tomorrow at bethany united methodist church in ellicott city. mean while, a fellowship fund has been created for elizabeth nass. the funds will be awarded to mt. hebron high school. donation can be made to the elizabeth nass scholarship fund care of m and t bank in ellicott city. you can find all of that information on our website, abc2news.com. prince george's county police have arrested a second man who they say was involved in the chase that killed one officer and injured another. police said 23-year-old kevin neil turned himself. we're told neil was a passenger in the car the officers were pursuing when the car ran off the road and crashed. a 20-year-old man has been charged in the stabbing death of

a howard county mobile home park. it happened in the 10000 block of north second street rob better tasker got no a fight with robert foster and ended up stabbing him. tasker later died. cops still aren't sure what the two were fighting about. >> it has been a warm august dray around here but not a lot of sunshine. now we're seeing a few showers pop up. take you into one of the showers just offshore of chesapeake bay to the west. showers in this direction over the chesapeake. coastal system will influence us throughout the weekend. could mean a lack of sunshine at least for saturday, especially for areas around the bay eastward. we could see quite a few showers on the first half into saturday tropical storm isaac also churning into the caribbean set

to make landfall. much more on isaac coming up. in the meantime clouds on the increase. >> there's a push to reopen the bidding for the new baltimore city casino. the contract has already been awarded to caesars but two groups are pushing for the bidding to start all over. this comes after the legislature decided to add a referendum. the sentencing for the man convicted of killing cockeysville native yeardley love will happen as scheduled. huguely's attorney argued there were errors made during the trial. the sentencing is scheduled for thursday. huguely faces 26 years in prison. christian schaffer will be at

the sentencing. yeardley love's high school, notre dame prep will donate a field in her name. it was funded by donations to the school. the field will be used for la crosse, field lack and south korea and have light -- soccer and have light blue colors. by thursday bad news, all the roads along the race route will be closed. abc2's roosevelt leftwich has more. >> that is the problem a lot of folks had. pratt street was closed off, lombard. it was just not easy to get around, especially those who live in federal hill.

all right. so if you're not at the beerchtion looks like you're not -- beach, looks like you're not mission much. you may get rain. wyatt will have the full forecast coming up. it will be a beautiful night here in baltimore to grab the family and head down to camden yards. the o's are back in town to open up a six-game home stand. they got the blue jays for three and the white sox for three. the birds made up ground in the

playoff race. how do you like that. the birds are now tied again for the second wild card spot. maybe the orioles can give calorie ken a birthday giflt by winning. he turned 52 today. on monday many children head back to the classroom for the first day of school. keep an eye out for buses on the road. passing one with the lights flashing could get you a $500 fine and three points on your license. watch out for little ones. 200 schoolchildren will be headed back to the classroom with new notebooks, pens and all the good disthanks to the preston mitchum foundation and the celebree learning centers. today's giveaway was held at lansdowne elementary school. >> i like giving back to the community. i think it's a good idea for them to help out for people who

as fast but when school starts that changes. >> they're more likely to eat and sleep and get physical activity on a regular basis. >> reporter: she is a registered dietitian with the american dairy association. she said the structure that comes with school provides benefits most kids and parents don't realize. new guidelines require schools to offer healthy foods. >> to grow strong, tall and perform in the classroom, including low fat, fat-free dairy products. more fresh fruits, more fresh vegetables. >> reporter: studies show the more you sleep, the less likely to overyeat. >> getting a couple kids excited about something and it can take off and excite a whole classroom oar are during the school year kids are more likely to eat

you wash your hands. >> the path of tropical storm isaac could impact your wallet. right now it's looking like the storm will move into the gulf of mexico and as we've seen so many times in the past, any production disruptions will push prices up, not a pleasant thought considering gas prices continue to set current day records. the average cost for a gallon of regular stands at $3.73. >> let's start with a check of maryland's radar. you see the showers off tillman island. showers could be crossing over chesapeake beach. otherwise, not so bad. rain wise pretty minimal, just scattered showers to the west. current conditions now 84. humidity is moderate. winds east northeast at five. sun sets at 7:49.

the days are getting short. it's starting to lock look fall with those early sun sets. towson, cloudy all day. we did get a little bit of bright sky in annapolis earlier in the day and things clouding up on the severn river. ocean city, not a bad place to be this morning where things were sunny earlier. there's a coastal system several hundred miles south of the ocean city. that will be coming up and having an impact, i think, for the first half of the weekend. so traveling to the beach this weekend, have an alternate plan. you may want to plan for alternate beach activities. temperatures low 80s. 70s to the west. the humidity is up just enough to make things feel a little muggier and feel like the upper 80s.

what little wind we have, that's aiding and abetting and getting the cloud cover. up around 80 at the surface. showers over eastern carolina. they will get nailed with the rain. this system will continue to drift slowly off the coast of virginia, then off maryland. clouds will be spinning in and perhaps showers spinning in on an on and off basis. this is what we're watching. this is our weekend weather maker and will not clear out until some point on sunday. how about tropical storm isaac. well, a large storm that has some disorganization also as winds up to 65. there's the circulation just south and east of the dominican republic. this will cross toward the win ward passes. as it heads toward cuba experience some shear. as we go into the early part of
