all the way down@beltway. charlie over to you. today george huguely the former ha cross player who killed his ex-girlfriend yeardley love will learn his punishment and abc2 news linda so is live in motier dame prep where they're getting ready right now for a little bit of closure with yeardley. a lot of people are watching what's going on, linda? >> reporter: yeah. when george huguely was convicted earlier this year, the jury recommended 26 years. huguely's attorneys are asking for a leniency but the judge will have the final say. yeardley love grew up in cockeysville and spent her high school years here at notre dame prep before going to college at uva. huguely was convicted of second degree murder and robbery in yeardley's death. he broke through love's bedroom door assaulted her and left her to die. today at the sentencing hearing those who know huguely are expected to testify. love's mother and sister already testified during the

sentencing phase and they're unlegally to take the stand again. but the judge can use their testimony and letters from the love family to determine the sentence. the last word could come from huguely himself. >> judge will turn to mr. huguely himself, george huguely and for the first time, he will have the opportunity to address the court and express any remorse that he has. have any comments about what his role was or what he hopes the court would do to him as far as punishment goes. >> reporter: now huguely may choose not to speak because there's still a lawsuit filed against him by the love family and his attorneys are expected to file an appeal. we're live in towson, linda so, abc2 news. tonight, mitt romney will be on certificate stage at the republican national convention -- center stage at the republican national convention but last night it was vice presidential running mate paul ryan energizing the crowd in tampa. abc's t.j. winick reports on the wisconsin republicans' national debut. >> reporter: america learned a little% paul ryan's wisconsin

county fire department will donate 15 defibrillators to the connor cares foundation. it requires them at all public schools, anne arundel county in memory of a 5-year-old who drowned. his mother says her son would be alive if the law had been in effect. today a $1,500 donation will be given to schools. it was raised by a dinner. their also going to be donating book bags and school supplies. today mayor rawlings-blake will introduce the new police commissioner anthony bats. they're going to have a breakfast meeting. also down in the southwest district for roll call at 6:30. every penny counts, that's what some chipotle mexican grill customers are now saying, in new york and new jersey they're rounding up customer totals to the nearest nickel. it was in keeping lines to move the customers through faster and limiting amount of change that was needed.
