february of killing yeardley love. the jury recommend 26 years in pries son. the family plead. the judge decide on 23 for second-degree murder plus one year served congruently for stealing yeardley love's computer. christian schaffer is on the scene and we'll check in with him for a live report. the body of the the boater who went missing in frog creek has been found. sherman walden was on a boat with friends when two women were struggling in the water. help went in to trito rescue him but another boater good to -- got to him first but walden went missing. he never resurfaced. the family said he was an excellence swirl. well, the state announced the first death this year from the west nile virus. it is one of the 13 cases of the virus that we've had so far this

to like last year about the grand prix, access for one. getting in and around downtown was a bit of a pain but organizers said things have been improved with an in and out ticket that allows people to live -- leave and go to different businesses. commuting will still be trouble. the road closure the will make this difficult to go north to south. lessons learned from traffic jams last year are still on people ames -- people's mind. >> we'll do light rail, come down, get off, walk. once you're inside, it's great. they had the padlocks. that was interesting. president. that was interesting to see. >> you never would have thought

isaac continues to weaken but the effects are wreaking havoc. isaac badly damage adam. the dam is holding for now. >> mississippi emergency operation center has informed us in the past hour that the dam in percy quinn state park is in emmy net threat of failure. >> reporter: if the dam face, parts of louisiana will flood. louisiana governor bobby jindal said authorities are scrambling to prevent that from happening. >> they're planning to prohaven't the dam from raking. >> reporter: across the gulf isaac's damage is extensive. this one am gulfport tore a home from its foundation. nearly a million people in louisiana are without power. rising floodwaters left people

to escape. the national guard is saving 33 people are hour. . >> i got are inous when the water started coming up. then all of a sudden it kept going. >> reporter: in new orleans, the $14 billion flood protection system worked but the mayor warning warned they're not out of the woods yet. >> we cannot let our guard down. the game is not over until the game is over. kelly, we learned just a short time ago that engineers moved in to breach that dpam along the mississippi -- dam along the mississippi border to let wart out. there's high anxiety because if that dam face, tens of thousands of people could be in danger.

>> are these people who have been evacuated from their homes are being kept away as a result of the possibility of that dam? >> reporter: these are folks who live long the miss miss and a lap border and they're being told to evacuate. the evacuation order has been give ton folks who are a mile from the lake nor where the dam s they want people to get out and they're trying to get folks out tonight and they're concerned. they're letting water out, so perhaps the situation is stabilized. isaac could bring relief for some areas. some farmers in the midwest are worried the approaching remnants may be too much of a good thing. forecasters believe it could slide into missouri, iowa and ohio as sun as tomorrow bringing as much as 12 inches of rain. that kind of drenching may be

>> reporter: that's right. 26 years was the orange recommendation after they convicted huguely of second-degree murder. the judge reduced it to 23 years. what he did in effect, take three years off that 25 yea anysentence and -- 5-year sen -- 25-year sentence. inirginia there's truth in sentencing is what they call it. so he gets 85% of that sentencing which knocks it down to 20 years. he also gets time served. really, he's only got about 18 years left. george huguely will be out of the virginia prison by the time he is 40 years old. in court george huguely made his first statement that he made throughout the course of the trial. he directed his comments to yeardley love's mother and sister. he said i'm so sorry for your

loss. i hope and pray that you might find peace and appeared to become emotional as he made that statement. we just heard from the prosecutor in this case, dave chapman, as well as the attorney for george huguely. they made some comments. we'll bring you that sound at 6:00. we also got a statement from the mother and sister of yeardley love. they're thanking everyone who worked on yeardley's behalf. they said we plan to work through the one love foundation to try to prevent this from happening to another. the sentence for george huguely, who was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of cockeysville native yeardley love had been 26 years. the judge in this case has reduced that sentence to 23 years. we'll have much more coming up

people. occasionally, i may have a pair of underwear in there -- just kidding. honestly, i have so much garbage. it's a bottomless pit of trash and useless items. the grossest this morning was moldy bread. these are glasses so i can read on the beach so i zoo have to have this -- don't have to have this look. i don't know what those are. someone tweeted me that would i remember be eaten by a bear or not have my eye liner. i would rather be eaten by a bear. this is a band-aid but no longer as its protective paper. i wouldn't mind if the national enqoirer went through my purse. they would probably be bored.

we think it will be hotter and more humid into the day. another bright sunny scenario to kick off the labor day weekend. sunny skies would be the rule. as we go into sunday night and monday, we could be dealing with the leftovers of what is now tropical depression isaac. it has been downgraded, but i will say this, still a tremendous amount of flooding rain across parts of mississippi, parts of the south. this whole system, this whole ball of wax which reaches into cape hatteras, north carolina, will be drifting east. that's when we could see showers. here's the timing on the tropical tracker. the low pressure area drifts further east. you have to picture this is the center of the low and the rain band cost reach much further out than this graphic demonstrates. so keep in mind, we could see
