here is the latest tonight on the colorado movie theater shooting. we are now learning the suspect tried to call a psychiatrist nine minutes before the attack. james holmes' attorney said he tried to reach a doctor. not clear why be we know he was not able to get ahold of her. the doctor testifieded to that she only met with holmes once. holmes is accused of the ram page that killed 12 people and wounded others. we will also learn more about what led up to the empire state shooting. he told his landlord he wasn't coming back. police say johnson shot and killed a former coworker in front of the empire state building last friday. police shot and killed johnson when he turned the gun then. nine others were hit by stray bull wees from the officer's gunfire. a push to have jerry sandusky named as sexually

to the budget. we talked to the former secret service agent running for office. he awe tended the convention this week for the first time as a candidate. he said it was energizing for the republican party. he is running for the u.s. stat on the republican ticket. he enjoyed the opportunity to share his message about the importance of returning to the morals of the republican party. >> it meant a lot that i had effected is many people. we couldn't at one point walk around without being stopped. it was a wonderful experience i'll remember forever. &÷says he is excited to be running without a political resume. he says the incumbent is a dirty word in american politics. remember when restaurants had endless buffets? >> well, they went out of style because everybody was worried

good evening, i'm terry moran at the republican national convention in tampa. this was mitt romney's big night. it was the night of his political life, no doubt about it. just a short while ago, he took center stage just behind me here and he gave this speech, the speech everyone had been waiting for, but voters across the country, tried to make the case why voters should fire barack obama and put him, mitt romney, in the white house. so the balloons have fallen. the music stopped, the crowd is dispersing, but what was said up there, will go a long way to defining mitt romney for voters and defining this campaign for the white house. ♪ >> reporter: it was the moment mitt romney had been working for for years. >> i accept your nomination for
