around i83, so roadways will be a little bit on the wet side coming through that area. we slide with one more shower around queenstown, gracenville, very light in nature and that will continue. and those will diminish as we go into the rest of the morning. this is what it looks like in terms of temperatures, em etsburg 71 degrees. here's the forecast as we walk you through your day, 81 degrees around 10:00 and 85 degrees by lunchtime. let's get a check now of the abc 2 time saver traffic with mike massco, good morning. >>reporter: good morning, lynette. good morning, everybody. let's get you right to the maps. again, well north and east of town, right near perryman avenue in old philadelphia we do have an accident just coming in off the wires. so just be aware of that. that's adjacent to route 40. also some congestion starting to pick up between exit 20 and exit 24 on 83 as you make your way southbound. baltimore city just some construction delays as you make your way into the key bridge. most of the crossings looking good this morning. and as you head towards baltimore city, we have some construction delays, long-term construction delays on central avenue at east fayette street.

created american jobs. governor romney, just because you bank against the united states of america doesn't mean the rest of us are willing to sell her out. >>reporter: now, it's been widely speculated that o'malley is seeking a presidential bid in 2016. politico is reporting that later this morning o'malley is set to have breakfast with iowa's delegation to the dnc. as you know, iowa is the state that always holds its caucuses before any other state. linda stow, abc 2 news. news time right now 5:36. in news around the nation, an unusual scene in washington state that leads to the arrest of a naked man. now, police say that the man tackled two teens, then walked away. when police showed up on the scene, the man jumped into a lake. remember, he's naked the whole time. he swam to the middle of the water and then is seen clinging to a buoy. so police boats tried to get him to swim ashore, however, the man resisted, swimming away

from the boats. this went on like this for nearly three hours until police were able to catch up with him and arrest him. a family in california says that they were discriminated against on an airline flight and this is because their son has down syndrome. robert and joan vanderhorse, they were returning home from a family reunion that was in new jersey and they were getting on board the american airlines flight with their teenaged son. he's 16 years old, and they were told that he could not get on the plane. airline security told the couple that the pilot made that decision and that they would be accommodated on another flight. at that point joan pulled out her camera on her phone and began videotaping the confrontation. >> okay. my question is why are you singling me out -- >> i'm not singling you out. >> why are telling them and them and them and all these people that have children that they have to -- >> it is a security-controlled area, you cannot be recording this. >> the family has flown

, brent olson woke up sunday morning to see a bull moose with a hoof on his car. he chased it away from his vehicle and olson was intrigued by this up-close encounter with this moose, so he grabbed his camcorder as it walked around the yard. however, the moose's behavior

thanks for joining us this morning. pairments sound off at a meeting -- parents sound off at a meeting at perry hall high school. they're asking for answers for some changes after a student was shot and critically injured inside the school cafeteria last week. abc 2 new' sherree johnson is live with more on what this meeting means. sheree, did parents get some of the answers they were looking for? >>reporter: some of the parents abc 2 spoke to said they left with a few answers. we've learned that the principle principal of perry hall high school will get feedback from a man who led a school in paducah, kentucky in 1997 where a gunman injured three and killed five more. yesterday the parents helped through the process of evaluating the school and work toward preventing another one. they filled the school

auditorium just days after robert gladden, jr. was charged with shooting and critically injuring 17-year-old donald bowery. he says two resource officers monitor about 400 students at a time. he may consider a third. the group shared ideas for over two hours last night with the promise of coming back to the table. now, some say they left with few answers, but they're committed to working with staff to make the school a safer place. >> we had the number of teachers in the cafeteria increased or is it the same number? >> that's what we're looking at because to move a teacher -- to move more staff into the cafeteria means we're taking them from the second floor bathroom. >> there's so much of the blame going toward what staff could have done or this could have been done. [ inaudible ] >>reporter: now, the principal and county superintendent plan to gather everyone involved in the day of the shooting and meet in about 30 days. it is possible we could see some security changes.

meanwhile yesterday, a grand jury indicted 15-year-old robert gladden, jr. on 29 counts related to that shooting. sheree johnson, abc 2 news. 5:47 right now. former republican presidential candidate hopeful herman cain is hitting the road. today he's going to start his truth tour which begins in iowa. it's a 30-day campaign to convey his view of the facts that voters need to make choices in this election. jury deliberations start in the trial of drew petersen. he is charged with murdering his third wife, kathleen savio. petersen, a former police officer is also suspected, but not charged in the disappearance of his fourth wife. preseason is over and tonight get ready for some football. the new york giants host the dallas cowboys to begin the nfl season. apple gearing up for a big announcement next week, the secretive company members of the media inviting them to an event in san francisco next wednesday. word is that is when apple is

going to introduce the new iphone 5. former vice president of susan g. komen race for the cure has written a tell-all book, asking both sides in the firestorm over those grants that the cancer charity tried to halt to planned parenthood. the book comes out on september 11th. everyone needs a hero every now and then and we have certainly found one. this story, a south korean traffic cop, he risked his life to make sure that a suspected criminal didn't escape, and now video of this daring arrest is going viral. take a look. you can see why. initially the cop pulled the man over for an illegal u-turn, but as he was writing the ticket, look at this, the driver took off. the cop jumped on the windshield and clung for about 25 minutes until that man was forced to stop the car because of traffic. this morning that officer doing okay. seven people were injured when their boat hit a large wave. take a look at this, this happened in the ozarks in missouri. the dramatic incident all caught on camera by lake tv.

we do want to warn you it's kind of graphic. everyone on the boat was knocked off of their feet. five people were taken to a local hospital for treatment. they are expected to be okay. but tough to watch. i know, lynette, you have your hand over your mouth going oh, my goodness. everybody is okay. >> good. that's very good news. that was rough to watch there. i'm glad everybody is okay. for today very humid to start out. we are dealing with that tropical air mass once again. 76 degrees right now in hanover, also edgewater. look at the 77s in easton and points southward around cambridge, 78 in chestertown this morning. these temperatures are about 10 to 15 degrees above where we should be for this time of the year when you're waking up in the morning. cloud cover, well, that's one of the reasons we're seeing these temperatures well above average this morning. a few showers back off toward the north and west. this will be continuing to move through here as we go throughout the day, so scattered showers are definitely a possibility as we go into the afternoon. that warm air mass is really going to be upon us as we go throughout the day because of the fact we are in the warm

beach. however, a short time later buckie disappeared somehow. turns out he traveled nearly 500 miles two weeks ago he was taken in by a family. the new owner brought him to grandstand animal hospital where they discovered a microchip and then they called mark. >> i thought i was going to cry. yeah. he definitely recognized me instantly and he still remembers some of his old commands and everything. it's almost like a new lab. >> he may not cry, but we might in the studio. what a great story. buckie made it there. the big question, though, is how. dogs do have a strong sense of smell and direction and clearly buckie did too. well, if you're a football or even a baseball fan, you're going to cheer as loud as you can for your favorite team, especially right now, although it may be okay to do it in the stands, but doctors say you have to do it carefully, the damage you can do to your vocal
