you everything is looking good on most of the beltways. outside for a live shot and we'll show you 70 at 29 and things are looking good at this point. another check on traffic in less than ten. megan on to you. the man who brought football back to baltimore is in the hospital this morning. art modell is at johns hopkins reported in grave condition. the 87-year-old baltimore icon modell purchased the cleveland browns back in 1961. then moved the franchise to baltimore in 1996. that move made him a hero to the city. he sold the interest to steve bisciotti and went on to be active with the team taking the golf cart out to practice to watch them. he is also a known philanthropist in the community. we'll keep you updated on his condition this morning. all right, are you on the bandwagon? if not hop on bard. tonight the o's and the yankees are meeting at camden yards for a four game series. and this could be the most important games in what has

athletes will be in london and they're going to be at the inner harbor at the ampitheater at 4:00. something to keep in mind, monday is going to be busy downtown. news around the nation right now. two teenagers got creative when they tried to rob a wal-mart. this happened in florida. police say the two buy buoys went into the store and one of them actually had a badge and a pellet gun at his hip and the one boy took some trading cards to the store manager. approached him and the other teen said he was a cop. he pretended to arrest his friend even went as far as putting him in handcuffs in the parking lot. >> he thought it would -- kind of i guess fit there. in the whole thing with the gun and the badge. >> the store manager didn't believe the story. she actually called the real police and the two teens were arrested. they say the 17-year-old there will was no plot there, no plan. just a trip to wal-mart that got a little out of control. all right, you've heard the old saying before. it was curiosity that kaled the

[ male announcer ] muller. the european for yummy. thank you for joining us on this thursday morning. newly released video surveillance video showing a maryland police officer pistol whipping a teenager and this video uncovers the officer's apparent lies about what happened that night. abc2 news linda so is here to explain and linda it really appears this officer's version is a lot different from what he originally said. >> reporter: megan the officer wrote in his official report the gun fired as he was being assaulted by the teen but the video shows something completely different.

take a look. you can see the 19-year-old ryan dorm enter the frame first. then the officer with his gun drawn swings his right hand and hits dorm in the face with his service weapon. the gunfires and a flash goes off. incident happened in february as dorm walked home after leaving a gas station. the officer and his partner followed dorm and his friend into the gas station because they thought a robbery was about to happen. no crime was committed though. attorney jim bell represents the teen who's been in trouble with the law before. >> the communities -- stereotypes, that the young black person was some sort of menace and he wasn't. >> reporter: the teen was arrested, and all charges were eventually dropped. but he still served four months in jail. the officer was charged with several crimes last month. linda so, abc2 news. all right, linda, thanks so much. this weekend, there's a lot going on in the area. we've been telling you about the o's oh game which is obviously a big story. but why not head to fort mchenry with the family?

some sunshine in here as we go through the day and also i'm not going to rule out more scattered showers momming up through the day. mainly isolated showers and let me correct that. the reason why, is that we have this surface trough and you can see the purple dotted line here. this is going to be over us today and tomorrow. as long as that's around i'm going to keep the stray shower in the forecast. high pressure is off to the west and battle with the surface trough but it will be a mainly dry day on tap. the tropical satellite shows two storms out here. and they are both hurricanes. so we have hurricane leslie and this is hurricane michael. and look at this. that looks good. this looks so pretty on a satellite image here. you can see that well defined eye. this is going to stay away from us. and also we're looking at leslie here. not looking so good a bit ragged right now encountering up welling and some cooler water and you know hurricanes don't like that and also dealing with some sheer which they don't like. here's the track of hurricane

thank you for joining us on this thursday morning. it's not very often that a traffic ticket is remembered with fondness or something that motivates you but a woman in south carolina is crediting a seat belt citation for her losing more than 200 pounds. you see jeanette was pulled over for not wearing a seat belt. however, at 408 pounds she couldn't fit it across the frame. she hadn't buckled up for years and she remembers the trooper was very kind and he wrote her up anyway. a year and a half later she is trying to find the same tropate thank him because hee -- trooper to thank him because she lost over 200 pounds.
