morning. we are aircraftously awaiting to hear -- anxiously awaiting to hear from charley crowson. he and his wife are in the hospital awaiting the arrival of their first child and you are looking at the roads and lynette is looking at the weather. the morning chilly. >> it is. we have fog out there and i know it's affecting the roadways. >> there's a lot of reduced visibility in frederick and carroll counties. so be extra careful. >> exactly. cool this morning as well. so, careful, have the jacket as you head out and about. look how pretty it is out there. this will fool you if you look out the door and think you are set to go because you are seeing plenty of sunshine moving into the picture. but this is what i want to show you because look at the temperature in bel air right now. 51 degrees. we are below average. that dew point coming in at 51 degrees as well. we are having a little patchy following out -- fog out there had morning. more in reisterstown. 50 for temperatures. dew point at 50. wind right now on the calm side. and they will be switching to the south as we go through time today. and at about 5 to 10 miles an hour and the last stop this

morning is wood bine where we are chilly there. 45 degrees at that dew point around 45 degrees as well. we look at maryland's most powerful radar and this is what we have right now. we are all nice and dry and we have all five sweeps on we will be scanning for a while. no rain in the forecast for today. here's the forecast hour by hour. we break this down. this morning, we will be right around 60 degrees. we are doing this around 10 this morning. by lunchtime, coming in at 76. plenty of sunshine in the forecast and as we mob into the afternoon -- mob into the afternoon 3 or -- move into the afternoon 3 or 4, the sunshine will continue. and make sure to have the sun shades and jacket for this morning. let's check the traffic with lauren cook. good morning. visibility issues out there and an accident. >> reporter: yes. the main trouble spot is interstate 70. we are dealing with a crash right along westbound lanes that has shut down the ramp to 695. traffic is picking up in the area.

heading out to the west side of 695, here's a live look at liberty road. inner loop fine up to spikesville but outer loop slowing down. looking at a 13-minute ride from 795 down towards 95. no problems from parkville to towson and use the j-fx to get into the city, you will be in the clear. you are looking at an 11 minute ride. no delays traveling southbound from 695 all the way downtown to east fayette street and as you mend, we are dealing with a lot of fog right now in frederick and carroll county. we expect reduced visibility. reduce the speeds and be extra careful. 6:33. today family and friends will say final good-byes to a harford county sheriff deputy. charles lacoto was killed onn a car crash on way home from work. the funeral is for this morning at mountain christian church in joppa. and today a viewing will be held in aberdeen for a police officer charles arme-tta after

falling off an elevated exit ramp saturday morning. a vigil will be held tomorrow night and it's set for friday. parents in chicago will be scrambling for a third day now. they are trying to find someace for the kids to go. >> i spent 240 dollars in child care the last two days. i am not happy about that. and i am sure most parents can't afford that. >> teachers are still on and negotiators right now -- negotiatings are going on for the school district and they are recording some progress in talks has been made but the teachers union says a deal is still a long way off. among other things, teachers right now are concerned about job security in the wake of a program that evaluates them based on the standardized test scores of the students. a big day for bolt rmore city schools -- baltimore city schools today due to the harry and jeanette wineberg undation. they are having a huge event

hosting a grand opening of the first of three school libraries. so right now abc2 news sherrie johnson is live with more on what's happening and why this is so exciting. >> reporter: well, yes, we are here live at the thomas johnson elementary middle school and south baltimore where in few hours there's going to be the grand unveiling. not only here at this school but two other schools to make it three new libraries total. and this morning, i have lyanne with me who has two sons one inpre-k and first grade. tell me about what you think about this library project and the fact the schools get the new libraries. >> i think it's incredible. especially for the city where we sometimes feel like we are forgotten the but this is bringing such a positive buzz to the neighborhood. we are getting 4,000 new bucks a pretty shiny new library where the kids can go in and experience learning. >> reporter: what do you think about the wineberg

significant backups. the fort mchenry tunnel will be in great shape as well as the harbor tunnel. and if you are using the jfx to get downtown, you are looking at an 11 minute ride from 695 all the way to fayette street. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. megan over to you. we are following breaking news this morning. we have learned that the state department and offs -- an officer was killed in an attack on the u.s. embassy in libya. three american security staff killed. there's concern this morning that more attacks will happen at other u.s. diplomatic facilities across the middle east. protesters storm the embassy in a protest over an american film that ridicules prophet new homed. they-- hoe maimed. they replaced the -- muhammad. they replaced the american flag. when you send your child to school you want to know he or she is safe when they go to the

classroom. how recent incidents involving guns raises concerns this morning and prompting changes. abc2 news linda so is live at stemers run and what are some of the changes that we are talking about? >> reporter: in the coming weeks, you will see more school resource officers at middle and high schools in baltimore county. also the officers will be given hand-held metal detectors to be eu of they think something is suspicious. the changes were prompted by the recent incidents involving students bringing guns to school. yesterday police say a middle schooler here brought a loadedgun to school and waved it at a teach erin classmate before turning it at himself. a teacher wrestled the gun away and no one was hurt and the the accident incident at perry high where a student brought a rifle and shot another student calf tier yeah. for parents, -- cafeteria. for parents, the idea of using a hand helmettal detector when suspicions are raised are a tough sell.

>> how do you know a kid is suspicious? >> reporter: the superintendent of schools says they are doing a comprehensive study that could bring about changes to school security. linda so, abc2 news. we have the name of a person police are look for in connection with a double murder that happened in pikesville. they were found dead in their home on monday. police say that they are trying to track down their grandson who lived with them. he is 31 years old and his name is matthew long. police want to talk to him but they are not calling him a person of interest. >> obviously because he lived there we are interested in talking to him. but it's preliminary at this point to say whether he was a person of interest. i wouldn't use that term. >> the peppers in their 80s died police believe on saturday. they are not being specific about the details or how they were killed but they are saying they were not shot and it doesn't appear to be a random attack. all right. check your refrigerator to see

you have to see many heavy thunderstorms turned las vegas and treats into rivers. look at what it looks like. crews had to rescue more than 20 people stuck in the cars because of flooding. some places water several feet high. and they are not used to seeing that in las vegas. take a look at this. a car packed under a garage under a garage not in it. well people watched in horror as the tropical storms in the area they picked up because of leslie and basically a garage dropped on top of this guy's 1984 corvette. the storm knocked out power to thousands of homes and businesses and tore down trees and ripped roofs apart. no word on any major injuries, but you know the guy has heart aches he is recovering from this morning. time for a check on all weather -- on our weather. >> let's talk about the cool temperatures this morning. 50s across the board. sandy springs right around 49. so we are very chilly out there this morning. don't forget the jacket as you head out and about.

beautiful sight in kent island and it's going to be a great day to take the boat out. i am forecasting a high around 81. and high pressure is the reason why we are going to stay dry and get plenty of sunshine in here heading throughout the day. and the next day. but we are watching this cold front back off towards the west. that will begin to slide in here as we head towards the east and head toward the weekend. with that, we will be seeing showers in the forecast. the first part of your weekend, but then we dry things out. we look at tropical storm nadine right now and it's strengthening. but this is another storm that will stay away from the u.s. that's some good news as we head through time. today, the temperature right around 81 degrees. mostly sunny and warm. it will be great for the game tonight as the o's play the rays 76 degrees. the wind out of the south at 5 miles an hour. and then by tomorrow, that temperature at 83 degrees continues sunshine and a bit warmer and here's the 7-day forecast for you as we have another nice day on thursday for the o's. plenty of sunshine on friday. let's check the abc2 timesaver
