downtown baltimore right at 395. you'll notice not too many cars out there just yet. everything will remain up to speed through that fort mchenry tunnel as well as the harbor tunnel. and as we check in and take a look at the drive times, 695 will be in great shape as well traveling the lout from 95 up to -- outer loop from 95 up to 83. 11 minute ride and no delays on the west side. # 1 minutes as well on the outer loop from 795 down towards 95. that's a lock at your abc2 timesaver traffic. megan over to you. this morning, students at morgan state university prepare to head back to class after a man was shot on campus. abc2 news' sherrie johnson is live this morning in northeast baltimore with the latest on the investigation and have police found the shooter? i know they've been looking for him. >> reporter: right, police are still looking for the shooter in this case as this investigation continues, yet classes are set to resume in a few hours after being canceled last night because of the shooting. this all happened yesterday. it was a chaotic scene on the morgan state campus. a little after 4:00 p.m. shots rang out and when the

smoke cleared a man was shot in the stomach in the student center. he later collapsed outside the building. witnesses say the victim was inside the student center playing pool. authorities immediately went into action locking down the campus. they also sent out a message on the campus alert system warning students and staff of the shooting. the city police s.w.a.t. team searched the area looking for the gunman. and investigators don't think the victim or the gunman were students at morgan state. and right now, many students are concerned leading to questions about how easy it can be for outsiders to come in and cause trouble. >> you have an open campus. and it is physically impossible to prevent people from the outside from coming in. in fact, you know, we very often welcome people from the community. >> reporter: now police have not released the name of the victim and once again, they are still searching for the gunman. reporting live in northeast baltimore, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. two people in maryland have now died from west nile virus.

and that is two deaths out of the 25 cases that have been reported in maryland. so today in baltimore county they are doing something about it. they are spraying trying to prevent the spread of the virus. linda so is out live this morning in millford area an area where they are going to see some praying tonight. the linda? >> reporter: crews will be back out here tonight to spray at #:30. -- 7:30. you should stay inside for at least 30 minutes while the spraying happens. of course this is the second time they'll be out in this area to do this. it's all in response to a case -- a confirmed case of west nile virus in the area. state officials confirm a second person has died from the west nile virus in maryland. the west nile virus is spread through mosquito bites so the best thing you can do is to stay inside when mosquitoes are most active, usually after dusk and also remember to wear insect repellent and also get rid of any standing water you might have around the house because that's where mosquitoes like to breed. next week in anne arundel county crews will be back out

there again in the mar lee area to spray after a spike in west nile virus cases there. now you can find much more information on how you can protect you and your family on our website at abc2news.com/westnile. we're live in millford mill, linda so, abc2 news. well, there is a debate going on right now at american university in washington, d.c.. students are divided over whether or not it was appropriate for a professor to breast-feed her baby during class. the professor's name is adrian fine and she wrote on a blog that her child was sick and needed to be peg. a sophomore takes -- fed. a sophomore takes her class and she was there when she breast- feed the baby girl. >> did she just keep talking while she was doing it? >> she had to finish the class, yeah. >> she let us know and it at one point too surprised. i think she handled it in the most professional way that she

could. >> she brought her child to class in the first place. it's very distracting to students. >> on a blog post written after fine was contacted by american student newspaper, she said that she was shocked and annoyed is that this would be considered newsworthy. fine says that she didn't want to cancel the first day of class because her daughter was sick. the university says that it does have a policy on breast- feeding but it does give new mothers breaks as a private place to pump breast milk and again this story is something that students there are going to be talking about for a while. news around the nation this morning. two bank robbery suspects were arrested in california after a wild chase during which they threw money out of the window of the car. police say this started after the suspects robbed a bank. that happened in the morning. now authorities chased them all the way to south los angeles and look closely. you can see one of the suspects throw a bag of money out of the window of the suv. and people can be seen running to go pick up that cash. even in front of police

cruisers. well, officers finally concerned about the suspects -- the suspects at the intersection and they arrested them but some pretty remarkable video to watch this morning. a rare spider -- you might scream if you see it -- but it can actually make you cry. run away depending on how you feel about them but this one actually stopped construction and made it go to a halt. an 18 month project was supposed to create an underpass to eliminate traffic and congestion on a highway near san antonio, texas. however, a new discovery now in a bat cave. it changed things, look at this a rare spider in a crack and it's put the $15.1 million project on hold. officials say it is the second time the species has ever been seen by humans. >> the last time it was seen was 32 years ago, 1980 and a little piece of private property not far if here. yet the biologists on site

start looking at it here and they're really superexcited about this. >> that's their job i guess to geek out about something like that. they will now consider ways to possibly continue the project without disturbing the spider's habitat. an ohio school bus driver decided to take justice into his own hands and help police nab an unsafe driver. witnesses say every day, show that harden drives on the walk to avoid -- sidewalk to avoid waiting for the school bus. the bus driver decided enough was enough. the next time she did it police were waiting and caught her in the act. harden's mother her name is tony, was also in the jeep and says that the bus that they passed stops to pick up disabled children on the street. >> the bus for some reason takes a lot amount of time talking to the parent every day and he takes forever. while he's doing all that we're waiting trying to get through. this morning she was late and trying the get her daughter to

americans, this comes after a u.s. ambassador to libya and three others were killed on an assault in the u.s. consulate in benghazi. two leaders have agreed to work together to bring the attackers to justice. this morning we are joined by nancy yusef a former baltimore reporter now working in the middle east and knew the late ambassador. thank you for joining us this morning. you were a reporter here for the sun for years, what are you doing now in the middle east? >> caller: i am the middle east chief for the newspapers. which is the third largest news agency in the u.s.. and i report on the -- but my focus is particularly on egypt and libya and how they are evolving in the postarab spring. >> as a reporter can you give us your perspective of what happened yesterday and this morning what's the situation like there right now? >> caller: it's pretty tense actually. there are still protests going on in front of the u.s. embassy here in cairo. the embassy in yemen was

attacked earlier today. and in libya, i think there's a sense of real embarrassment among a lot of people there who -- who are indebted to the united states for its intervention last year during its uprising. and so -- there's -- a whole mix of emotions but i think the pervasive feeling is that -- is that people are very tense and that there's no -- there's no sign of these fro tests dying down anytime soon. >> we're hearing you know the white house from the white house, that the president has called leaders of those countries and that you know they are working on peaceful solutions. are you finding that to be the case? or do you think this is going to take a while to resolve? >> caller: well, i think it's going to take a while to resolve. i mean there's a short-term problem of getting people to stop storming embassies and then the long-term one of -- of huge swath of this region not trusting the united states. and feeling that the united states and its people perhaps engage in some sort of war against islam or repeatedly

attacking the faith. and so i think for a few more days its will go on -- it will go on because the protests in some ways keep growing and i think we may reach a point with some sort of confrontation between security forces and the protestors. >> nancy you knew chris stevens, your thoughts on herman cain. what was he -- him, what was he like? >> caller: i met him in benghazi right after the uprising began there. that would have been the spring of 2011. at the time he was a special envoy there and you know, he was so committed to the middle east. he devoted most of his career to it. and remember how unassuming he was and i later read some of the capables that -- cables that were released to wikileaks and you can tell he had a sense of humor. very colorful in his dispatches. he immediately sort of connected with the libyan people and i was really struck by this. and he just had this unassuming way of bringing people together. he -- he related to the libyans, he loved the libyans, he loved libya, he told me even

when he was there under gadhafi's rule in 2010. and you know -- 2007. and you know libya is only six million people and you got the sense he had almost a connection with the libyan people. people knew him by name. and a plot of people indebted to him because he had helped bring about nato intervention last year at a time when gadhafi was about to overtake benghazi where he was killed to do. so you -- tuesday. so you know he really represented the best and he was a generous spirit and one who was really committed not only to the region, but -- but he was an american patriot as well and you have both senses from him. when you interacted with him. >> sounds like such a loss. well, nancy we really appreciate you making the time for us this morning. please stay safe and let us know when you get back, we would love to chat with you and as this situation continues there in cairo. nancy yusef reporting in cairo. used to be a journalist with the "baltimore sun." thanks so much for your time this morning. >> caller: thank you.

time now for five things you may want to know this morning. prosecutors are requesting a hearing where they say that they're going to ask convicted pedophile and former penn state assistant football coach jerry sandusky to be designated as a sexually violent predator. this would require that sandusky have more extensive supervision if he ever gets out of prison. right now he is awaiting sentencing. beef products inc. planning to file a defamation lawsuit in south dakota today. this is in the wake of the publicity storm over the meat product dubbed pink slime. the defendant has not been named but they have been blamed for media reports for the closure of three plants and roughly 700 layoffs. today the pennsylvania state supreme court holds a hearing on a law set to go into effect in november. for the elections requiring specific forms of identification at the polls. it will be up to poll workers and individual precincts to determine how strictly to interfere and enforce the new law. muhammad ali is set to

receive the national constitution center's liberty medal. this is happening tonight. he is going to be honored at the champion of freedom and living endowment of the constitution. as he has been an activist for religious and civil rights since the 1960s. the first thursday night regular season football game is tonight. the packers taking on the chicago bears; this is happening in green bay at lambeau field but unless you have the nfl network or you go to the place you can't watch it. but we will of course let you know tomorrow what the score is. battery maker energizer is making packaging on coin sized button batteries more child resistant. and they're adding new warnings to the packaging of these batteries. now this is in response to increasing reports of small children swallowing the batteries and getting seriously injured. other companies say that they are also taking steps to protect children from the dangerous little batteries. more than 40,000 children have been treated in emergency rooms

for injuries related to swallowing those batteries between 1997 and 2010. here's a guy who really wanted to stick it to the man. you see he received a ticket. it was $137 from a red light camera. he says that the town where he got the ticket is a money trap. you're going to love this story if you've ever received one of the tickets. so he made 137 origami pigs from $1 bills, they're pigs, you put them in two dunkin' donut boxes and brought them in to pay his ticket. it took about six hours to make all the little pigs. the officer and the person at the counter they thought it was pretty funny but he had to undo every single pig before they would accept the payment. but pretty clever don't you think lynette? >> i like it. >> he's talented. >> exactly. >> we have clear skies out there as we go throughout the day we could be seeing a few more clouds trying to move in
