-- inner loop heading to 95 and the outer loop clear to towson. this morning they are searching for an arsonist who fire bombed two apartment buildings while people were inside sleeping. abc2 news linda so is live this morning in northeast baltimore where the first fire started and linda, what are police doing in the area today? >> reporter: they promised the boost their presence and patrol the area all morning long we've seen police cruisers with their lights on circling the neighborhood. they're hoping anyone with information will call them. anyone who knows who fire bombed this apartment building. they've put up signs throughout the neighborhood offering a reward for tips on this arson. there was also is second fire that happened a mile away there the location. police say someone threw a molotov cocktail through a first floor window here at the parkside garden aparents just before 4:00 yesterday morning. six adults and one child were hurt. they're all expected to recover. about a half hour later another fire bomb was thrown at a building at the mannasota manor apartments ability a mile from

the location. police say the devices were similar and investigators believe the same person or grown up is responsible. one of the people living here felicia managed to get out with her 3-year-old son and 35-month- old daughter. >> i had to get out. i got to get out. i thought we were going to die. so much smoke. so much smoke. >> reporter: so that's the sign right there they've been posted throughout the neighborhood. if you have any information that would lead to an arrest, please call the fire marshal's officer at 410 -- office at 410- 685-tips, live this morning in northeast baltimore, linda so, abc2 news. when you drive down the votes do you see a lot of trash piled up? according to trash and leisure magazine -- "travel + leisure" magazine charm city is the third dirtiest in the city. it was given to us because of the number of rodent complaints. new york city and new orleans were first and second on the list. a consumer alert right now about something that you may

eat for breakfast and even dinner. rice, "consumer reports" they have tested dozens of rice products. and found many have what they call quote worrisome levels of arsenic. the study included everything from white to brown rice, long grain rice, to even rice milk and products that were targeted for infants. >> we are saying for infant rice cereal you really shouldn't exceed more than one serving a day. >> if fda -- the fda is conducting a larger study on this right now and you can cut down on the amount of arsenic in your rice by rinsing it until the water runs clear and also recommend cooking it in a lot of water. it appears that the president of chick-fil-a is having a little bit of a change after heart. he caused controversy you may remember when he announced his stance on same sex marriage. that he was opposed to it. well, according to media reports this morning, the fast food chain agreed to stop

heard attack. well that sixth grader, the last -- basically dropped off on the route, he took control of the bus. >> he started curving. and he made a strange face at me. and started going towards the tree. so i put my foot on the brakes with the bus was still moving and i turned the steering wheel. >> not bad for an 11-year-old. the bus drivers want to give that young hero a big hug. take a look at this spread crow. it's coming from niagara falls, ontario. you can see a dump truck dangling from a bridge. it smashed into an overpass there. a woman slammed into the box which landed on the road. she was seriously injured in the accident that dump truck driver suffered only minor injuries. investigators right now are trying to figure out why the

truck driver was driving with a box up in the first place. all right, some thrill seekers in california, they certainly got more than probably what they wanted. but a lot of excitement happening. it turns out the ride that they were on it malfunctioned leaving them about 300 feet in the air for hours. this happened at nots berry farm and engineers were able to get everybody down safely after about three hours, this is the second time in two weeks for that ride. it's called the wind seeker, brokall right, well you know that she has been on the set of "good morning america." she hasn't been there for a while. hour thoughts are -- our thoughts this morning are with robin roberts and her family. the latest on her medical batting and that's happening today that -- what's happening today that could put her on the road to recovery. and also this morning not the most popular time for a vacation. but it could save you some money. details on stalled travel straight ahead. >> and a chilly start will give way to a seasonable

powerful radar and we are dry. we will stay that way as we go into the afternoon. we don't have to worry about any type of rain gear this afternoon or this morning. the temperature coming in at 74 degrees by lunchtime. and 77 degrees for a high. we are nice and seasonable for the day. let's get a check now of the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. good morning. good morning lynette. gorgeous weather and unfortunately the traffic not so nice. we are dealing with a crash in baltimore county. right in education sex. it's -- essex. it's along the northbound lanes of 702 at old eastern avenue. 95 downtown if you are using this to get into the city you are in luck because there's no congestion whatsoever. it will remain nice and clear traveling through the fort mchenry tunnel as well as the harbor tunnel. now the worst trouble spot right now is going to be the beltway. the west side particularly here at baltimore national pike. the outer loop will be slow jammed back all the way to old court road. so do expect that typical delay as you travel but fortunately 695 is clear from parkville up

to towson. megan? right now, peter marvit he was not only a respected medal researcher but also a man with musical talents. friends and family they came together to remember him in a vigil as police right now continue to search for his killer. abc2 news sherrie johnson joins us live this morning from police headquarters, do they have any leads in the investigation? >> well, megan i just talked to officers with the baltimore city police department and so far they have made no arrests in the case. they actually need help from the public if anyone has saw or heard anything in the neighborhood on monday night about 10:30. they would ask that you would contact them. this was the time when peter marvit was murdered. he was right outside of his home. he was left for dead. someone shot him several times in the head and upper body. and while police continue to search for his killer, marvit's extended family gathered for a vigil to remember him through music. 30 minutes before he was killed, marvit was making music. he was a singer with the baltimore choral arts society

the misconduct cases against a delegate. tiffany aleston is from prince george's county. now a judge set a hearing for november 5th to hear arguments in this case. aleston was found guilty of using $800 in state money to pay an employee in her law office. her attorneys right now are contesting the jury's decision, meantime aleston is scheduled for a trial next month on charges she used campaign money to fay for her wedding -- pay for her weddings expenses. looking for a couple of cookie crooks. they say these thieves made off with 24 pounds of cookies, this happened from the great cookie store at the towson town center. it shows the men hopping over the counter and filling up on the cookies and other baked foods there. all rights say that the -- authorities say the same store was hit by thieves back in august. baltimore county's new superintendent wants the hear from you. dr. dallas dance holding another community meeting it's happening tonight. this one is happening at chesapeake high school. it's at 7:00 this evening. dr. dance will be available to

look at emmettsburg 43 degrees this morning. columbia at 46. more 40s from edgewater to brandy wine at 47 degrees there. 50 easton as we take it to the eastern shore. 51 in rock hall. galena at 49 and bel air at 46- degrees this morning, we are chilly. make sure you grab the jacket. towson plenty of sunshine across the area right now and that's going to continue even throughout the day. more of the same in mount airy. you couldn't ask for more. take a picture of this and bottle it up. that trend is going to continue. as we look at the surface we have high pressure building in and that's giving us all this clear skies and plenty of sunshine into the afternoon. we will have a cold front that works its in here from the west into the weekend. so that could throw a caveat in your plans if you have some saturday afternoon. future trend not a whole lot for today but the changes are coming for the weekend. now what's going to be happening as we go through today because the temperature at 77 degrees by tonight 55.

here's overlea at belair road. inner loop just fine but the outer loop is a bit slow as you go up to providence road. a texas police officer being hailed a hee rethe morning. the whole thing caught on tape from a dashcam and it's incredible. we want to show it to you because you can see two officers helping a woman at the side of the road when a van collided into one of the police cars. you can see it coming right there. look how quickly the guy acts, he pushes a woman out of the way as that van came spinning towards them. both are said to be okay. the driver of van was charged but it is incredible to see just how quickly he reacts. all right, lauren let's hope this never happens to you. a traffic reporter there philly look at this got a bit of a surprise when one of the cameras showed the accident and you can see right there live on tv the reporter just about to switch cameras when he saw a car slam into a disabled car on the side of the road. and no word on what caused the crash but it certainly caused that guy to do a double take. >> that's why we have the cameras though. >> yes. we're out of time and another
