festival, we have the greek festival at st. demetrius, a lot going on this weekend so hopefully the rain will hold off. unfortunately this morning we are dealing with several accidents. trouble in dplen burney, an accident on old west highway. if you are using 95 to get into the city, a crash right now along the southbound lanes at indicaten avenue. as we check out thed, the northwest corner of the beltway, traffic really starting to pick up here at old court road, but more significant delays as we travel down towards route 40. here's parkville, 695 nice and clear on the inner loop down towards 95, and the outer loop no problems getting up towards towson. that's a look at your abc 2 news time saver traffic. megan, over to you. times are tight, everyone is trying to save money, you want a deal, but you don't want to haggle. don't worry, there is a way you can do it without having to go through the bargains and the hassle of talking somebody into a lower deal. there are simple strategies that could save you some money. so renee marsh has more on these details that can score

of spots. it is going to be reduced visibility time this morning with the rain and the fog. but we can see rain now, moderate in nature in chestertown and also churchill. all of this is sliding off towards the east. so as we go through the remainder of the morning, we're also going to be dealing with some slick roadways. you can see that now in bel aire. look at the fog across the area, plenty of low clouds this morning. and we can see the temperature on the mild side at 64 degrees in bel aire and cattensville coming in at 64 and 64 in sykesville. let's get a check now of abc 2 time saver traffic with lauren cook. good morning, lauren. >>reporter: good morning, lynette. in addition to the rain and fog, we are dealing with a lot of accidents. the main strubl spot is going to be 95 where there's a crash in white marsh right in the southbound lanes at the beltway. once you do get into the city, we're dealing with another crash that's just been confined to the shoulder of the southbound lanes. that's going to be right at catten avenue. if you're using the jfx to get into the city, there are no delays right now, but the beltway is not going to be the case. we're dealing with another

accident on arbutis on the outer loop at 95. you are taking a look right now at the delays at liberty road. so you will want to expect a very slow ride from 795 all the way down to 95. and here's what the beltway looks like in parkville at hartford road. inner loop nice and clear down towards 95, but that outer loop, again, problematic here. it will be sluggish up towards towson. that's a look at your abc 2 news time saver traffic. megan, over to you. we're following some breaking news out of anne arundel county this morning. seven people have been displaced following a two-alarm fire at a mobile park. you're looking at a map of the area we're talking about. but more specifically it happened in lothian. it broke out before 4:00 this morning on 26b street. it started at one mobile home but quickly spread to the one next door. an elderly woman had to be rushed to the hospital. we're told that she is suffering this morning from smoke inhalation. we do have a crew on the scene right now. they're gathering all the video and all the information. as soon as we can get that to you, we will make it available either on the air or on

abc2news.com. when you're home during the day, the last thing that you expect is somebody to kick in your front door and break in. but it is indeed happening in howard county. and right now people are pretty nervous. abc 2 news' linda stow joins us with the details. this has happened a lot, right, linda, that's why they're so nervous? >>reporter: right. police know of at least 10 cases this week alone. investigators believe the same man is behind all of them. it appears the burglar is knocking on doors, and if someone answers, he acts like he's lost and is trying to find someone's house and then leaves. if no one is home, police say he kicks in the door and takes valuables. the burglar is striking during the late morning and early afternoon in ellicott city, colombia, elkridge, clarksville and woodbine. the string of daytime burglaries has people in those neighborhoods feeling a bit uneasy. >> why don't they just break the doors in, grab stuff and take other people's things? >>reporter: and people say you should deadbolt exterior doors and hide your valuables in places a burglar may not

suspect. linda stow, abc 2 news. news time right now 6:48. election day just over a month away and tomorrow supporters of the maryland dream act are preparing to launch a campaign leading up until election day. they're going to be holding a news conference. it's happening at 11:00 today at the baltimore freedom academy library before they start, canvassing the neighborhoods around there. voters will decide whether illegal immigrants should be allowed to pay in-state tuition to public colleges and universities. they would have to graduate from a maryland high school and prove that their parents paid state income taxes in order to get these sort of breaks. if you're thinking about buying a house and you've got a lot of questions, obviously, you may want to check out housing matters. there's a mini fair that's happening tomorrow. it's happening in howard county with the housing association. they're hosting this event and it is basically to asend one building on stanford boulevard which is in colombia. so they are going to be going over all the basics of

homeownership. it's a great place to get your questioned answered. there will also be real estate agents on hand, help you out, answer those questions you have. that fair, by the way, runs from 9:00 in the morning to 1:00 in the afternoon. after a well deserved day off, the orioles now, they are set for their final home series that's happening tonight with the boston red sox in town. and for the first time in more than a decade right now, the o's are looking to play a little longer into the month of october. charley crowson live this morning down at the park. and, charley, what is in store for fans because it's sort of a big fan celebration going on? >>reporter: this is the last home series of the year, megan, so it is the fan appreciation weekend from the baltimore orioles, thanking all those loyal fans who have stuck with the team. well, little did we know back in april this is going to be an improbable season and those o's fans are being thanked for their loyalty and they may get playoff baseball. because while the o's were off yesterday, they gained a half game on oakland for the top wildcard spot and gained a half

game on the yankees for the a.l. division lead in the eastern division. so this thing is not over with six games left to play. and tonight the red sox do come calling here at camden yards. first pitch set for 7:05. it's student night, so students who show a valid i.d., they get a discounted ticket going into the upper deck. also there's going to be a fireworks display coming off after the game tonight with those red sox. but tomorrow is a huge day for the orioles because they're going to be honoring mr. oriole himself, brooks robinson with his bronze statue going up with the other five. that would be cal ripken, jr, also palmer, murray and robinson. their statues are already there. brooks is going up and that's going to be tomorrow afternoon, ceremony at 5:00. of course, the o's, they need to take care of business and do the winning that needs to be done so they can close the gap on new york and continue their playoff run. >> so many generations of fans are getting something out of this season. you know, we've got folks who have been orioles fans for

tonight. tomorrow hundreds of people will lace up their shoes for a walk through druid hill park and they will be taking part in the fifth annual walk for leupus. leupus is an auto immune disorder that can affect a patient's joints and organs. that kicks off at 3:00. it is world rabies day and health advocates in maryland and around the world will help raise awareness about rabies in humans and animals, about the best ways to prevent the infections, vaccinate your pets. today is the last day for whoever bought the megamillions winning ticket to claim the money. definitely check this out because the ticket was purchased back in march at a 7- 11 on beaver dam road in timonium. that ticket is worth $250,000. today is the last day. so go through those old tickets. nothing says fall like apples and apple cider, but those treats may come at a price this year and that's because of the drought we saw all over the country over the summer. experts do predict that the

apple prices could quadruple and that's just one of the effects. but, lynette, we have been talking about this drought and the affect it's having on grocery shopping for a while now. >> exactly. the other day you were telling me about the bacon. >> everything. >> it's bad. so this rainfall that we saw yesterday, today, the day before that, we definitely need it. as we look at maryland's -- actually, the satellite and radar right now, we are dealing with rain, but it's starlgt to dry up a bit, so we are going to get a break behind that, but we are going to be seeing possibly some more showers working their way in here as we go into the afternoon. we look at mount airy right now, a dark mount airy, but we do have the clouds out there, things starting to dry up, but we will get a few peeks of sunshine as we head throughout the day. same thing in manchester this morning, it is dark, but we are dealing with some dry weather. again, some more sunshine will begin to push in as we go throughout the afternoon. look at the temperatures, we are basically in the 60s everywhere this morning, so you don't need that jacket. future trend not picking up on a whole lot, but i will still keep a chance in on the eastern shore as we go to 3:00, 4:00
