the doors of homes in wood bine and ellicott city. >> a warm sunny day. that will be the story into sunday. it's getting toward mid-october and we're expecting changes. you can see the new front marching in. this will bring the threat for showers, beginning late saturday afternoon and a coastal system coming up and meeting cooler air. that would mean a raw miserable day on sunday. in the meantime, all eyes on texas. we're back playing outdoors. it looks like the weather will be fairly decent. 72 for the first pitch with falling temperatures. there will be the chance for a passing shower during the course of the game. overall not so bad at the first

drivers are hurting again at the gas pump. prices are going up incredibly fast all across the country, especially am california -- in california. >> reporter: nationally gas prices sit at an all time high but in california a real sticker shock as it sures 20 cents over-- soars 20 cents overnight. the owner had to use upside down

two's on its side. in los angeles gas hit $5.69. at the independently owned low p station, gas was nearly $6. their profit is down to 10 cents a gallon. >> we have no choice. we can take it all down and have no gas or charge that. >> reporter: with prices, they're expected to rise. those on fixed incomes worry. >> i don't know how everyone can make this these days. >> reporter: the only good news, the extreme price shocks in california might be unique. it's suffering from the lowest inventory in 10 years and other problems. >> we've had six consecutive weeks of setting prices. the national average is $3.69. >> reporter: with prices continuing to rise, what may

seem like high prices today could be a bargain tomorrow. it is the silver lining on the cooler days of fall but getting that cup of starbucks pumpkin spice latte may be harder. some stores have been rinning -- running out of the syrup used to make. this starbucks said there's no nationwide crisis and if stores are having a pumpkin emergency, they can place an extra order. the first debate is over. now it's time for the great debate over the latest jobs report. how romney and obama are spinning the number. >> fans of 30 rock. what alec baldwin tweeted. barnhill: you hear a lot of talk about question seven...

take you down into enemy territory in dallas, texas, where we have been watching the skies. clouding up a little bit, changing weather in the lone star state for the big game. it looks like winds will be shifting around. we'll see temperatures dropping from the 70s to the 60s. here is the first pitch forecast. 72 degrees. mostly cloudy skies, winds five to 15. that will allow temps to drop. you can see a hit or miss shower. at least the o's are back playing outdoors. all right. speaking of -- baltimore, current conditions, 80 degrees. the overall setup is a beautiful one across the area. if you're headed to your best friend's house or favorite pub, the weather will be fantastic. 73 at the beach.

64 in the mountains. winds are light and from the west but the winds really will be pick up through the day tomorrow. new frontal boundary already marching into ohio, detroit, dropping temperatures. into the second half of the week. you see that boundary brings the winds up saturday and the possibility of showers developing into the day on sunday as a coastal system comes up. the cool air will arrive. showers on top of the cool air. a raw chilly day. optimistic that most of the rain will clear out before later sunday evening when we have the big playoff game. take a look at the setup. we're watching the shot of cooler air. it will be pushing in that direction, replacing that warm beautiful air that we have right now. much cooler, breezier and rain showers on and off through the day on sunday.

away, both sides realize how important it s -- it is. first came the numbers. the unemployment rate fell. it's down from 142,000 in august but on par with what many economists predicted. then came the reaction. >> this morning we found that the unemployment rate has fallen to its lowest rate since i took office. >> reporter: the president cited the report as evidence his policies is working. >> today's news is not an excuse to talk down the economy to score a few political points. it's a reminder that this country has come too far to turn back now. >> reporter: romney has been critical of the white house, failing to get it below 8%. >> unemployment above 8%. >> reporter: today without the benchmark romney found areas to
