his triceps. roosevelt leftwich with more. >> reporter: it happened near the end of the game. ray lewis was back in the middle of action when he felt that pop in his arm. we all know exactly how bad this tear s if he's going to be out for the rest of the season doctors say it can be one of the worst types of tears you can ge as one of the teams leaders, ray lewis is almost invaluable to the ravens defense. this is news that no ravens fan wants to hear. >> ray has a triceps tear a complete tear, so he will be out for the season. >> reporter: ray lewis was injured on this play. you can see him flexing his arm on the side lines and the doctors working on the arm. webb was also injured. he tore his acl. coach harbaugh said it's time for some of the other guys to step up. >> the guys who will be playing

are the same guys who stepped in and played last year to a large extent. those guys played a lot of football. we have a lot of confidence in them. >> reporter: although it's not easy to do considering what ray lewis does, tearing the triceps is part of the territory. ray lewis may have a long time to recover. >> it could tear the fibers or the insertion where the tendons come into the bone. that would be more serious. if you tore a piece of bone away from bone or tendon pay way from bone, that will have to be surgically repaired which could take you up to six months. if it's a muscle tear, then a nonoperative treatment. >> reporter: coach harbaugh said he wasn't able to find out if ray lewis would need surgery or no he said hoe found out about this before the news conference.

he will talk to ray as soon as he's able to. what does that mean as far as ray staying with the team? he's 3. coach harbaugh said he wouldn't venture a guess. he said it probably will not be the last you'll see of him. >> the week ended with a double shooting at a popular club. a man opened fire right outside club mirage on west baltimore. two men were hurt. they will if putting officers outside is necessary at the business' exspefnlts businesses which experience three incidents of violence within a year are subject to being shut down. a community is healing after four young children and a grandmother lost their lives. tonight a vigil is being held for the victims. cheryl conner is live with the

>> all right. a 15-year-old is stabbed at northwood high school in silver spring much the victim will make it. the victim is not cooperating with the investigation. an 18-year-old student is considered to be a suspect and police are checking to see if surveillance video can help with this investigation. in tonight's health alert doctors are washing that -- warning that the deadly meningitis outbreak could be getting bigger. now health officials say the rare form of meningitis could contaminate other products made at that acy. experts from the cdc are not sure how long it will take for the outbreak to slow down. until then they are encouraged to be on the lookout for symptoms which may not appear until after months of exposure. >> it's a very unusual infefntle

fungal meningitis -- intention, fungal meningitis. these cases are rare. one of the fungal pathogens is novel in as much as it has caused meningitis in the past. so treatment recommendations. we're learning as we go. in toon's consumer alert we warned you about lottery scams before but we have good news for you. joce sterman explains how we can learn from other people's close calls. >> reporter: the notices were hard to ignore, claiming you'v won more than $3 million and marylanders who got them just had to send back $20 to claim their fortune. >> what we tell people you shouldn't be making a payment to

claim a prize. >> reporter: they went after the las vegas company that scammed more than 700 marylanders with this scheme. >> this was a victory for consumers. >> reporter: the company, which used the name prize next beurre rope sent out official looking paperwork claiming to be part of the state of maryland, an agency that doesn't exist. the ag's office won the case back in 2010 and fined the company $25,000 and got refund to everyone who sent in money for the bogus prize. the attorney general's office said this lottery scam isn't unique. you may get a phone call or email claiming you won. you have to pay a fee. you won't win a prize. you'll just lose your cash. joce sterman, abc2 news. >> thank you. october is breast cancer

as a pastor, my support for question 6 is rooted in my belief that the government should treat everyone equally. i wouldn't want someone denying my rights based upon their religious views, so i shouldn't deny others based upon mine. it's about fairness. i support this law because it doesn't force any church to perform a same sex marriage if it's against their beliefs. and that's what this is about. protecting religious freedom and all marylanders equally under the law. join me in voting for question 6.
