messages or robocallers. >> most of them are from credit card companies. the worst one is card services and credit services. >> reporter: the federal trade commission took action against the robocalling operation in 2010. one you've probably heard. >> hello this is rachel from card holder services. >> reporter: that was two years ago. how is rachel still calling? >> it's almost certainly a different attorney. >> reporter: he is staff attorney and is responsible for tracking down violators. it's a tough job because technology is making it easy to fake the number you see on caller i.d. it's a time consuming process. >> they've freed up the market, so the telephone company that had it originally probably sold it to another company. so there may be three or four

down the line before you find the person. >> reporter: robocall complaints are up, so the federal trade commission is holding a brainstorming meeting on thursday. >> we hope the summit will result in ways for us to find solutions and got more of the robocallers. >> reporter: she said when she blocks the number, she changes one digit and gets through the next time i'm desperate now. >> so what should you do if a robocaller calls you? don't follow the prompts to get off the list. it tells the computer your phone number is legitimate. report it to the website. remember, if you're on the list, some groups are still allowed to contact you. we have political groups, charities, telephone surveyors,

business -- companies you have done business with over the past 18 months. more fallout from the ruling that lance armstrong used performance enhancing drugs. >> reporter: today might have marked the final fall from grace. he announced that he's stepping down hams chairman of his -- as chairman of his cancer fighting company. nike's president said due to the seemingly unsurmountable evidence that armstrong participated in doping, it is great sadness that we have terminated our contract with him. his name will be removed from the fitness center. nike had faced pressure and in

likely. money problems continue for the u.s. postal service. the cash strabbed agency is barred from borrowing more money. they reached their debt limit in september. congress band the treasury department from lending the post office more than that at one time. the post office is only allowed to borrow from the treasury and can't take money from private banks. more trouble for american airlines. the holding company said the company posted a net loss of $23 million in the third quarter. the company said it would have been profitable if it weren't for charges related to the bankruptcy filings. the charges include more than $200 million in severance payments. american airlines is still encouraging people to retire to cut back on some of the costs. when you're battling breast cancer, that is one time to be selfish. we'll meet one woman who's giving back.
