avenue at 54th street. as we check in and look at some of the main lines, here's what the beltway looks like in towson at dulaney valley road. no problems to report. it will be nice and clear as you make the drive up towards 83. this is the west side at liberty road traffic starting to pick up but no significant delays it's going to take 12 minutes to travel the outer loop from 795towards 95 and 59 going to be clear traveling through the fort mchenry tunnel. looking at normal 8 minutes right now to travel northbound from the beltway all the way to the toll plaza. that's a look at your ab -- abc2 timesaver traffic now over to you. if you are like many of us you may carry this around your smart phone. night easy to -- it's not eatsy -- easy to set down yacht may do it on the bathroom srchg but the caution because this could be collecting a lot of germs. and renee marsh is live with some of the risk and renee, this can get gross can't it? >> reporter: yes. it is brace yourself. this is pretty gross.

let's tell you about lab testing on cell phones. a lab tested 8 random cell phones for the wall street journal. and they found an abnormally high amount of bacteria linked to fecal matter. brace yourself. yeah. i know. and doctors say that this is an indication that people just aren't watching washing their hand. how do we keep our phones clean? the lab tested cleaning method as well like water and windex and nice and clean electronic cleaning wipes of all water was the least effective according to the article. but here's the rub. phone companies warn that using household cleaners to clean the phone could cause damage to the phone but particularly to the screen. reps for apple anblackberry and android told the paper they don't have recommendation for products that would safely and effectively clean smart phones. but we have options for you.

a spokesperson for the company that makes windex says they have a line cleaners for electronics best buy geek squad recommends a uv disinfectant wand which essentially the rays of light apparently burns off the germs from your smart phone. so those are two options on the market. but not many options out there for us. >> renee you mentioned windex having the product out there that can do it and the geek squad giving a recommendation. it seems like someone could come in and corner the market. i am looking at what's on the desk i have a p-urell someone could come in and make a killing. >> reporter: right. you could possibly quit the day job and start thinking and brainstorming because you are right. there are not a lot of products out there. a lot of products are in the works but nothing on the store shelves right now for people to go out and buy and make sure that the phone is really 100%

a teen lured a 12-year-old girl in his house and he and his older brother killed her. that's what police say happened to autumn pasquale who disappeared saturday a more than week before her birthday. the brothers strangled her and left her body in a recycling bin in southern new jersey blocks from her house. the boy's mother saw a post on facebook that tipped her off and that's when she called police. >> we all have beautiful children. but there's something special about -- just something special very special about autumn. >> both boys are charged as juveniles but prosecutors say they may try to move this into an adult court. look at this video. a man is pulled out of a burning car in pennsylvania. the driver lost control of the suv and he is in a hospital and the parking lot after hitting a traffic pole. the truck flipped caught on fire and police and fire crews

road. looking at just about a 5 minute delay traveling from the beltway all the way up to the maryland pennsylvania state line. we have a crash on dulaney valley road right at seminariy avenue. and as we check in and look live at the beltway here in towson, at york this is going to be 83 at york road. notice traffic is picking up in that area but 695 no concerns in the towson area. it will be a nice easy ride towards 8 3. this is what the west side of the beltway looks like at liberty road. traffic is picking up on the outer loop. right now you are look at a 14 minute ride traveling from 795 down towards 95. inner loop clear through pikesville. that's the abc2 timesaver traffic now over to you. >> stewed owns campus of -- students on the campus of notre dame are on high alert. >> a man sexually assaulted a student on campus and linda so is live. what's precaution -- what precautions are the school taking to keep students safe. >> reporter: the suspect is out there. so security has been stepped up on campus. the university also wants to

let students know that an escort van is available for students going to and from campus buildings if they need it. police say a student was leaving the campus lie prairie early monday morning to walk back to her dorm when a man with the knife sexually assaulted her. at this point, police only have a vague description of the suspect. a university wide e-mail was sent to students to alert them about what happened. students say it is unsettling knowing one of the classmates was assault on campus and the suspect is still out there. >> i go to the library all the time and come back by myself so i was freaked out about it. >> reporter: you can expect to see more security on and around campus including loyola university which is right across the street. again, the suspect is still out there and police only have a vague description. live in north baltimore, linda so, abc2 news. a robbery scheme leaves one woman running for her life. the victim answered the door in the middle of the night to find a girl begging for help

claiming she had been in a fight with her boyfriend. when the woman stepped out a masked man attacked her. she managed to free herself and run to a nearby neighbor's home. >> she was quite beat up. they slammed her face into the gravel driveway and she managed to get away from him and vault over a couple wheel barrels that the guy was following her tripped over. so that's how she got into our house -- she goes into our house safely. >> the man broke into the woman's home joining the other man and they demand cash from her husband. a man is recovering after being shot by police. it happened around 9 last night on spaulding avenue which is near the belvedere avenue area and pimlico road. the violent crimes task force was patrolling the when they heard -- area when they heard gunfire. they caught man running and tried to question him and he

richard murdock was asked about his pro life stance in instance of rape. here's what he had to say. >> i believe that life begins at conception. the only exception i have for to have an abortion is in that case of the life of the mother. i just struggled with it myself for a long time but i came to realize life is the gift from god and i think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape that it's something that god intended to happen. >> his opponent responded saying god never intends for rape to happen. and the comments were twisted and sick. murdock says wasn't suggesting that at all. mitt romney's campaign distancing itself from murdock despite releasing a tv ad in support of him the day of the debate. more americans plan to work longer. that's according to a survey taken by wells fargo. after surveying a thousand adults, they found 30% say they plan to work until they are 80 or older. wells fargo says americans are finding it harder to save for retirement so most plan to work

coast of the carolinas. and once again that track can jog more to the west more to the east. but again at this point we still are not sure if which dreck it's going to go in. but -- direction it's going to go in. we are watching the cold air and it's going to play a part in the storm that could be brewing as we go into the end of the weekend into the beginning of next week. because that cold air will begin to surge in so here are some of the storm possibilities for us. we do have if it moves inland, it will be very strong winds across the area and also mountain snow and if it stays along the coast, which is definitely a scenario we want, if that happens, we will be dealing with breezy conditions and also beach erosion and also some coastal rain. now for today, temperatures are on the mild side this morning we are at 62 in mount airy. 61 gaithersburg. rock hall at 59 and as we look at your planner for today as we go into the afternoon, that temperature coming in at 76 degrees by will you bech time. and it will soar from there we will get up to 80 degrees.
