jessica ridgeway. >> reporter: it's the break in the jessica ridgeway murder case, the 10-year-old's family has been waiting for. >> we have made an arrest in the murder of the jessica ridgeway case. austin fig is in our custody. >> reporter: he was arrested at this home on cetner lake. not far from where her bot di was found -- body was found. >> we're all worn out. everybody in the family is worn to a frazzle. >> reporter: jessica's family watched for three weeks as they searched nearby fields and parks. detectives say it was a phone call that led them to fig. they impounded this vehicle. >> we hope and pray this arrest gives them some sort of closure. >> reporter: a jogger told police a man grabbed her from

behind but she escaped. this clue, a small wooden cross was found. in the past detectives thought this belonged to jessica's killer but didn't reveal any new details about the cross today. >> charges will be filed within the next couple of days and we start a different process. >> reporter: police say this is the beginning in a long road of seeking justice for jessica. a 5-year-old girl from missouri kidnapped is safe. she was found for her home in poplar bluff. jeffrey dean shelton was arrested. in 1990 he was convicted for the kidnapping and rape of a girl in

texas. police say the boys tried to get the girls to go into the woods. when they refused, the boys pulled them into the area. the four boys exposed themselves and touched themselves inappropriately. the boys are between the ages of 13 and 15. it happened at catonsville. it was in the a school event. >> internet cafes are charged with running an illegal gambling operation. >> customers were betting big on it. roosevelt leftwich was the first to break it. >> reporter: today was senior citizen day at the cafe. if you got there before 10, it was a free breakfast buffet. now it's being served out of the trunk of a car in a parking lot.

this is the place that patrons call the taj mahal. >> they create the environment for the seniors and allow people to come in after work, folks who are retired, spend a few. you don't lose any unless you want to. some of these folks are regular. >> reporter: officers seized hundreds of computers, office equipment and cash. it culminates years of investigations it. worked this way. patrons would go inside and buy minutes on the computer and go to internet websites. if hit the jackpot, they could cash out. this man worked in the hot spots and said it was an internet cafe and nothing more, that the county even licensed them. >> they got all the licenses,

permits. we went to the county and asked for what permits did we need and got them and this happened. >> so far, in charges have been filed. the case is still under investigation. if you think you've seen an increase in gambling, you might be right. we have more on this federal crackdown. >> reporter: in 2006 president obama signed the unlawful gambling enforcement act. despite this law and act, the law was never enforced. no one was prosecuted federally during the last two years of the bush administration or the first two years of the obama administration. the first arrest didn't happen until april 2011. that's when the founders of poker stars were arrested. they tried to circumvent the act by setting up fake companies that would accept money from players but on paper these payments were for goods like

of currency. >> about 10 minutes letter a 19-year-old was riding his bike when hit by a car. they robbed him, too. both victims were released unharmed. police say the three men were driving a silver four-door dodge stratus. if you spot the vehicle matching the description, police are asking that you give them a call right away. a huge crime spree has ended with the arrest of tiff teenagers. >> they targeted more than 100 victims and did more than 20,000 worth of damage. jeff hanger has more on what broke the case. >> reporter: russell halterman is charged with stopping the two months of mayhem with a two-month investigation. the teens inside were acting suspiciously. later he spotted the same car racing out of that neighborhood and stopped it for speeding when reports came in of shattered

windshield as few blocks away. dispatchers add advised the officer that a car fitting the same description had been seen leaving several neighborhoods where dozens of victims had reported vandalism. >> carroll county sheriff's office received reports on almost weekly basis on more than 56 residents where vehicles had been damaged, tires slashed, unlocked vehicles entered and more than $5,000 worth of republican are ti removed through the end of september. the five prang in age from 15 to 16 and are all north carroll high school stawlsd. all told they're charged with damaging 129 cars including more than 50 in a single night. the state fire marshal is expected to bring additional charges since a mol love cocktail was found in one of the cars.

now a star ri ot of atlanta. a church volunteer is shot and killed inside a megacoach. police are searching for a former church employee. it happened at world changers church international. the suspect, 5-year-old floyd palmer, was a former maintenance manager. investigators say the suspect just walked in and started shooting. weir getting new information about last month's deadly attack on the u.s. consulate in leb ya. the white house, state department, fbi, they were all informed a militant islamic group claimed credit two hours after it began. it raises confusion on the part of the obama administration to determine the nay clur of the attack and this who planned it. a white house spokesman said it was just one peels of evidence that came in after the attack. gambling companies are spending big bucks to get you to

sunshine, fall foilage. by the way, no matter what happens, we will get wind, some rain. if you love the fall foilage, new is the time to go for that country drive. got some good fall color in the susquehanna river, cecil county, harford county. gorgeous weather and laurel. look at that fall color. gorgeous sites around the state. however, again, these leaves will probably be coming off the trees with the wind we'll get. between now and saturday go check it out if you haven't already. temperatures in the upper 70s. 60s to the west. 67 in ocean city. wider per spcttive, very little weather locally, a couple showers north of us, northern pennsylvania. that was it. quiet pattern. one thing we noticed, of course, a bigger warm air surge that helped get us up into the low 80s across much of central

maryland. a very unseasonably warm pattern. low to mid-70s as the warmest air retreats. i think we'll be more in the 70-degree range as opposed to the 80s. also, weather for neuromaining clear and sunny, tonight crystal clear conditions. we look to remain clear as we go into the middle part of the day following that. then a lot of showers by friday night. that line is the leading edge of cooler hair that will march in and interact with this coastal storm and make for an interesting couple days into the early part of next week. right now all quiet. take a look to the north and west. this is component one. cold air building. you can actually make out that trough of cold air, this leading edge. this is in the montana region, in the northern plain states

they knew exactly what they were doing. this is surveillance video from a jewelry heist in georgia. they smashed into the store, grabbed jewelry and took them and minute the owner said the thieves used a manhole cover to break through the doors. thieves wanted the cash out of this atm in california, so they took the whole thing.

surveillance shows the man breaking in tie as tow attached to a vehicle outside and they yairchgd the machine right out of the store leaving behind a mess. police said this crime obviously was planned out. >> it doesn't appear it was at the whim but they decided to go in there. they knew what they wanted and they wanted that atm machine. >> the owner is also out $5,000 that he paid for the machine and paid thousands for the repairs. we're used to seeing this birds on the design are table at thanksgiving but not wandering around our neighborhood. more than 100 turkeys have invaded town. some neighbors started feeding the birds and now they won't go away. city officials said they may have to start trapping the turkeys and moving them to a
